Beautiful little cottage. Cosy, compact, comfortable and well equipped. Nice external seating areas in the hosts well maintained country garden. Very peaceful location in a small, quiet village but within a short drive/ easy access of the surrounding areas. Plenty to see and do within an hours drive or less. Hosts live on site and are friendly but not intrusive (Also have Charley the dog which is a bonus). Property is small but well equipped and furnished and is impeccably clean. Also you have a private garden area and access to rest of grounds to hide from sun. Location is quiet but beaches and towns easily driveable within 10 to 35 minutes so all options covered. Would certainly recommend.

The cottage is perfectly equipped, functional and delightfully decorated. There is a small, peaceful garden and a picnic table under a large tree for hot days!
A plus for the high quality mattress (for weak backs!)
Irene and Norman are charming, discreet and gave us plenty of suggestions for outings and visits.
A valuable address to keep!
This property is immaculate. It is extremely well supplied with everything you could need, clearly a lot of thought and effort has gone into ensuring this. The bed is very comfortable. Our hosts Norman and Irene were very friendly and helpful with good local knowledge. Ideally located for visiting the opal coast. We had a fabulous fortnight here. Andrew and Susan Leah.(July 24)

Short stay
Nicely located . 30 mins from beach by car. Garden not private as you are over looked. It’s cosy but cluttered. Kitchen has everything but no washing machine.
Owners are very pleasant with Charlie their friendly dog .

Thank you for your review, we just wanted to say , we have completely renovated our patio area to include comfortable lounge furniture as well as table and chairs and large gas BBQ and this has gone down very well with our guests.
we asked our guests which they would prefer a dishwasher or washing machine in the kitchen and the answer was a dishwasher as there is a very good launderette in Hesdin.

Very quiet and lovely
Lovely well presented Gite. We stayed for a week and Irene and Norman were very helpful and welcoming. They had a secure storage area for our tandem and all the facilities you need apart from a washing machine but there is a launderette in Hesdin. The bed was lovely and comfortable and being able to watch the Tour de France highlights on ITV 4 was great. Thoroughly recommend this Gite.

We had a lovely time staying at this wonderful place. After our original plans got turned upside down Irene and Norman made us feel at home in a second. We booked on really short notice, not even a day, but it worked out perfectly fine. The house was well equipped and we found everything we needed. There were even two little outside seating areas we could use during the whole stay. Our dog Cooper was also very welcomed. Just outside the gate we could step into the fields for our lovely morning walks. Nothing is really far away from this place and both of the landlords had plenty of suggestions for our trips! We can highly recommend to ask them!

My girlfriend and I spend an amazing time in this little little cozy cottage. It is equipped with everything you might need. The garden is filled with flowers and shaded by old trees - listening to birds early in the morning with a cup of coffee was incredibly relaxing.
We also made use of the great gas barbecue.
The cottage was incredibly well cleaned and sterilized before our arrival, which we appreciated greatly, especially during the current situation.
Irene and Norman are very welcoming.
All in all a great get away with amazing hosts.

Oh what a lovely guest. They will be most welcome at any time thank you Irene and Norman
Wunderbar - einfach wunderbar. See You again, Norman and Irene!

About the host
Hosted by Mrs I Wood
We started coming to this area by means of renting a friends house to get away from our busy working lives. We liked this area and could travel from our house in sussex to Hesdin in 3 hours so it became a regular trip. when some 5 years later my husband was offered early retirement we decided to take a chance and buy a property here.
we enjoy the all the area has to offer and family, friends and grandchildren visit often.
Why they chose this property
we like this area and the people in the village made us very welcome. we spent 6 months renovating the cottage, taking all the bits from friends gites we liked and tried to put them into our own. Some 15 years later we are still enjoying and looking forward to our guests arriving. Many now return again and again.
What makes this property unique
The cottage offers all things to all sorts of people ,we enjoy meeting people and feel in a small way that for what ever reason they come to visit be it a first holiday, a special birthday or anniversary or just to get away from the stress of busy working lives that our guests have a good holiday and for a time they can relax and enjoy their stay.
