'The chalet' is a beautifully located holiday chalet in rural surroundings with magnificent views over the Romney marsh to the sea. The property is located in an area of 'outstanding natural beauty' and benefits from managed woodlands and famous walking routes on the doorstep and beautiful beaches and Port Lympne Animal Park are only 4 miles away.
It's only a short walk to the centre of the village with shop, play park and pub and has easy access to London (high speed link from Ashford international). the gypsy caravan playhouse and large secluded garden and fire pit are perfect for families or couples. A lovely garden, great for children, dod friendly.

The Chalet was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very cosy. Marvellous shower with plenty of hot water and beautifully comfortable beds. The garden was beautiful and perfect for our dogs. Very well situated with lots to see and do within easy reach. Sarah is lovely and we were greeted with eggs from her chickens, pears from the ree and homegrown tomatoes ... utterly delicious. Would highly recommend.

Lovely location

Stayed here for a couple of nights, great peaceful location with nice views down to the coast. Everything we needed was available, would recommend this venue and will hopefully stay again one day, thank you Sarah for a pleasant stay

Took us a moment to find the property so make sure to ask for the full address. But our girls found it a magical place to stay and it was close to Port Lymphe where we were taking them so a day out. The local pub was lovely but note its stops serving food at 2pm then starts 6-8 - but again they were very helpfull and made us some chips event though we were 6 minutes past. The kids cant wait to go back.

Lovely little chalet, large enclosed garden with a great view over the Downs, perfect for our two tervueren shepherds. We enjoyed our stay very much, visited the Canterbury Cathedral (with our dogs!), Bodiam Castle, Dover... We loved walking in the wood across the street and enjoyed the hikes though the fields. If I really have to mention one minor point of improvement: a garden dining set for a family would make this accomodation perfect. But I really recommend The Chalet, would stay here if I go to Kent again.

Lovely little getaway

We had a lovely time and the property was exactly what we were looking for. The garden is a good size and very secluded; our daughter loved playing in the gypsy wagon. The chalet itself is a good size for a small family and has all the essentials.

We had a really lovely time despite the weather. The chalet is snug and warm and perfect for a base in a beautiful setting. Our dog loved the garden too. Private and tranquil. Would return and reccomend to others ☺️

The chalet was very clean with everything you need for a perfect break. Great private outdoor space and the views have to be seen. I would certainly recommend the chalet. There are beaches within 20 mins drive but also lots of shopping can be done again only 20 mins drive.

Amazing gateway

Very lovely and charming place! Perfect for those looking to have a peaceful gateway from busy urban life! 5 mins drive to port lymphe safari park, which is highly recommended as for kids, as for adults! Sarah is a super star and made our stay very easy! Loved every minute, highly recommend!

Lovely quiet chalet !

We had a lovely stay shame about the weather we had , but We made the best of it . The secret garden gate was very hard to get open as it had rained alot and was overgrown , and the parking was very tight on the side of the road but sarah let our 2nd car go on her drive . Very quiet and the fire pit was great and the wood across the road was a treat.The thing that let it down was the tap in the bathroom kept dripping and the cleanliness of the chalet wasnt that great , we had to wash quite a lot of crockery and the pans and the microwave also the cupboards shelfs were dirty.But we achieved what we wanted and that was a lovely rest .Sarah our host was lovely and left us some fresh eggs. I’m afraid we didn’t actually stay in the property , when we arrived in the garden of the property and chatting to the host, we were not sure about the security of the garden. The fence on one side was lower than we thought and our dogs could of jumped over it and behind the chalet and down the other side of the garden were bushy shrubs and couldn’t see if there were any gaps. The host said they maybe could get out but maybe keep them on leads. We have spaniels who like freedom to run around and explore and would mean we would of had to keep the doors shut all the time and wouldn’t be able to relax with them being out on their own, so with great disappointment we decided to head home.

Hübsches Häuschen mit schönem Garten

Wir hatten einen schöne Woche im Chalet. Das Wetter war sehr gut, so dass wir auch den Garten nutzen konnten und tolle Ausflüge gemacht haben. Leider ist das Häuschen schon sehr klein für 4 Personen und hat extrem wenig Stauraum. Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Nous avons passé 5 nuits au chalet. Sarah est très rapide pour répondre aux messages et disponible. Le chalet est bien équipé : machine à laver, tv, jeux de société et l'extérieur est superbe : brasero pour faire un feu ou des grillades. La région du Kent est superbe: Canterbury, Rye, Douvres... Les pubs sont magnifiques et accueillant

Chalet Aldington

Het huisje en de grote tuin waren heerlijk. Onze labrador van anderhalf jaar heeft ook genoten van de fijne grote tuin. Mijn dochter en kk vonden het erg leuk om.weer eens kuderwets dvd's te kijken. Ook de glooiende omgeving is erg mooi. Sarah de host is erg vriendelijk..we vovoelden ons heel welkom

Beautiful sandy and pebble beaches within 4 miles and Port Lympne wild animal park is only 3 miles away. 5 miles to Ashford International train station where you can get fast trains to Kings cross, London in 35 minutes.
