A lovely cottage in an excellent location. The cottage is well equipped and very clean. The village is very peaceful and close to Wadebridge for amenities. Polzeath and Rock are beautiful - great surfing and lovely beaches - and both only a few miles from the cottage. A delightful stay.
We had a very enjoyable two weeks staying at Hillside Cottage. It was only a 20-minute riverside walk into Wadebridge and we were well placed to drive to local beaches and various coastal towns and villages, as well as inland locations.
Just a couple of things to note:
- 🅿️ the road by the cottage is quite narrow and the best place to park is 200m or so up the hill from the cottage unless you have a small car or want to risk annoying the neighbours.
- ♻️ there was no provision for recycling in the cottage even though many other nearby properties had council-provided bags or bins and there was a recycling collection while we were there. We couldn’t find any other recycling facilities near Wadebridge so unfortunately everything ended up going in the household waste.
That said, we were very happy with our stay.
Many thanks to the owners!
Really enjoyed our stay at Hillside. Lovely well equipped cottage, well placed in a pretty little village and a short pleasant walk into Wadebridge. Great, thank you!
Really nice place to stay. Clean, well equipped. Only issue was parking which a couple of the neighbours didn’t like us unloading next to the property, or taking up ‘their’ spaces, despite no restrictions on the road.
We had a lovely stay in the Cottage in Wadebridge. Everything was as pictured. The beds were very comfortable. Plus enough storage space in the bedrooms. The cottage was very nice decorated. Garden was nice as well. We had good weather, so that's a plus as well. Too bad we had to leave early due to circomstances. Would have loved to stay the whole period. Only thing we missed were some herbs/oils to cook with. And we loved the stove, and oven.
We experienced an excellent moment when staying in this well-equiped cottage in Egloshayle near Wadebridge. The village is very nice and quiet. Very good situation to explore north and center of Cornwall. Both our children were extremely happy about these holidays. Highly recommended. Unfortunately there is no dedicated parking place for the cottage and recycling is not offered.

Good location for accessing the Cornish coast
So.... this is a comfortable and quite cosy well equipped cottage, and is a good access point for visiting the Cornish coast and it's lovely villages. Downers... the parking is non existent which, in the big scheme of things, wouldn't be too much of an issue, if it weren't for the fact that it's a very narrow street and there's a continual tooing and froing of builders' vehicles. It'll be better, I'm sure, when the house build opposite is completed, and you don't have to listen to the f'ing and blinding of the builders first thing in the morning, along with the unexpected viewing of their visits to the open doored portaloo, doing what nature calls for!!

About the host
Hosted by stephanie mills
I've been holidaying in Cornwall for over 30 years, mainly in this area, so when the opportunity came up to buy this beautiful cottage I took it! I spend as much time as I can down at the cottage as I love being there. For the past 3 years I've taken a break from letting Hillside to spend longer periods of time in Hillside, and now I'm back to holiday letting it.
Why they chose this property
Hillside was fully renovated between 2012-2013. I have tried to include everything I would want while on holiday, to the highest standards. Egloshayle is a lovely village, and great base location to go out and visit areas within Cornwall. Locally, within one mile you can access the town of Wadebridge where there are shops, bakeries, butchers, fishmongers, restaurants, pubs a cinema and cycle hire, as well as tennis. From the village it's an easy drive around to one of the lovely beaches such as Daymer Bay, Polzeath, Rock or around to Padstow. In the other direction approx 30 mins away the Eden project can be found.
What makes this property unique
The Earl of St Vincent pub is located within the village, it's a very unique pub, serving food.
