About this property
Beautiful dog friendly holiday home for 6 near a sandy beach and Padstow.
Crigg Cottage (sleeps 6) is really quirky and quaint. It is an old and traditional former farm worker's cottage that oozes character. Our farm is on the clifftops between the two golden sandy beaches of Porthcothan Bay and Treyarnon Bay.
** Huge 'couples discount' available outside of school holidays - please contact me for more details**
We are a short walk across 3 fields will take you directly to the coastal path. Padstow is a 10 minute drive away, or there is the little village of St Merryn a 5 minute drive. We may be biased but we think we live in the most beautiful and tranquil part Cornwall has to offer.
The cottage was 2 up 2 down with an outside loo/ cold water pump in the garden. We are pleased to report it is now a modern home, although it has retained its cottage style charm. Downstairs the kitchen has beautiful granite worktops, and traditional slate floors and leads out to the garden. Off the kitchen is a ‘snug style’ solid oak fitted dining room. Downstairs is split level. Up 2 steps is a wet room (with walk-in shower, loo and basin), and separate utility room leading from the outside off road car parking area - perfect for coming in straight off the beach. There is a cosy sitting room with super soft and squashy L-shaped sofa and log burner. The beams downstairs are low, so tall persons will need to take care.
Upstairs is light and airy, with pitched ceilings and open beams. There are 2 double bedrooms (1 is ‘compact and bijoux'), plus 1 twin bedroom. There is also a family bathroom with basin, loo, bath, and handheld shower. The stairs are narrow and steep - typical cottage style.
The house is semi-detached (granny lives next door) and has its own large garden with BBQ/ patio/ lawn/ picnic table. It is walled and gated, so perfect for dogs. At the rear there is off-road parking sufficient for 2 or 3 cars.

Lovely cosy cottage that’s really well kitted out and very accommodating Owners. Location is perfect for dog walk, near bays, beaches and coastal path as well as all the great restaurants in padstow and rock. Couldn’t fault it!
Had a wonderful week at Crigg Cottage, perfect for family and dogs!

Thanks for coming to stay at Crigg Cottage . So glad you enjoyed your holiday. What a perfect sunny week you had!

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Crigg Cottage, and it exceeded all our expectations. This was our third visit to Georgina and Jeff's cottages, which says a lot about how much we enjoy staying here. The cottage is beautifully presented—clean, tastefully decorated, and full of character—while still being completely family-friendly and dog-friendly. It has a quirky charm with lots of lovely features that make it feel like a genuine home from home rather than just a holiday rental. One of the standout features for us is the huge garden, which was perfect for our two Labradors. They had plenty of space to run around and play safely, making the holiday just as enjoyable for them as it was for us.The location is fantastic, with the cliffs and the stunning Porthcothan Bay just a short walk away. It's the perfect base for exploring the area and enjoying the beautiful Cornish scenery.Georgina and Jeff are exceptional hosts. They are incredibly welcoming, attentive, and always on hand to help with any minor issues that arise. Nothing is ever too much trouble. We were also treated to a batch of Georgina's delicious homemade scones on our first day, which was a lovely touch and a wonderful way to start our holiday.Crigg Cottage offers everything we look for in a holiday stay: comfort, character, a great location, and genuinely caring hosts. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning again in the future. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable property and ideal location to tackle the 7 bays in 7 days walks
Lovely property, clean and comfortable with very helpful owners. Enclosed garden is ideal for dog owners and the surrounding area is perfect for coastal walks - including the 7 bays - and is close to some great pub restaurants. Padstow is only a short drive away along the lanes and although quite busy during the summer months is perfect for eating out, shopping and popping across on the ferry to Rock. It would also be remiss not to mention the wonderful selection of pastries on offer too! There really is no better place.
