A perfect cottage for six people with everything you need to enjoy your stay. It is in a wooded area just a few minutes from Carnoustie, though you'll need a car to get to shopping and to get around. The owners are helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the estate which includes the fascinating 1838 monument to the Baron Panmure for his kindness to his tenants for suspending rents due during harsh agricultural times.

Really lovely property in the heart of Angus. Many things to do. Walking around the Reservoir at Crombie was a lovely early morning 4km walk. The hosts were really friendly and helpful. At this site, you are at easy travelling distance to many places (I.e. Dundee, Glamis Casle, St Andrew's etc). Enjoy and thank you!

Monument Cottage Stay

We had an incredible stay at Monument Cottage. Tranquil with lots of outdoor space to explore. It was wonderful to arrive with the fire on and a welcome basket of food waiting for us on arrival. Thank you so much for making it such a memorable holiday. Our family would love to stay again!!

Great property in a peaceful location

Lovely, well equipped property. Great welcome from the owners and a lovely welcome pack. The jam was delicious. Lots of information provided about the local area and a very welcome recommendation to go to Lunan Bay. We loved it! We really enjoyed our stay.

Cosy Winter Stay

Really enjoyed our stay in the snow. The house is well equipped comfortable and cosy and Sharon and Dave were very welcoming and helpful. It was so nice to arrive to a toasty fire. We enjoyed seeing the birds and wildlife so close to the house. A thoroughly relaxing break.

What a wonderful cottage! So happy we found this for a family new year get together and will definitely plan coming back in the summer months. The location is stunning, you feel like you're in the middle of the countryside, with stunning views in the grounds of an historic monument - but just 10 mins from the main road, beach, villages, supermarkets etcThe interior is gorgeous, spotless, comfortable and has everything you could need plus a lovely welcome basket and decorated for Christmas too. Sharon was lovely and very helpful and on hand if we needed anything - Perfect!

lovely cottage, well stocked and loaded with charm. Well situated to many points of interest, but also away from the bustle. Sharon was the best host. I hope to return some day.

Wonderful vacation in Monikie

We had a fantastic 2-week holiday in the wonderful, spacious and very clean cottage. It is beautiful and lonely in the middle of a small forest. A car is absolutely necessary, then you can go on the most wonderful trips to the sea, to the cities and also to the Highlands.

Beautiful, peaceful stay

Had a wonderful week at this secluded cottage, surrounded by trees and nature. Arrived to find the cottage immaculately clean, with a lovely welcome pack of food which included homemade jam, and the log fire lit - such a lovely touch. We spent the week exploring the area and watching the wildlife in the garden - we were regularly visited by deer, as well as woodpeckers, jays and voles. Would thoroughly recommend and will be back.

Excellent Holiday accommodation

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Monument Cottage. Beautiful setting surrounded by trees and bushes. Beaches, parks and tourist attractions all within easy reach by car. The accommodation was first class, clean, spacious and well equipped with all that was needed for the holiday The Host Sharon was both friendly and helpful and a very full welcome pack was awaiting our arrival. Property was exceptional in how it was presented for our arrival, welcome pack was very generous and well thought out. If you’re looking for a quiet away from it all stay then Monument Cottage is perfect, we were visited and seen deer, hare, hedgehog, woodpecker, jay and numerous small birds 😀

Amazing stay

Our stay was great and the house is lovely, cosy and with a lot of space. It was nice to be in the nature with deers around and without traffic. The owners were very nice and helpful. We got a flat tyre on the way and they offered us support and drove us to the supermarket. They gave us tips for activities. There are a lot of nice places to visit in short distance. We enjoyed the house and stay very much and would love to come again sometime.

Wir haben mit fünf Personen, zwei Erwachsenen und drei Kindern, 14 wunderschöne Tage in diesem Ferienhaus verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, ausgesprochen sauber und hervorragend ausgestattet. Besonders die Küche ließ keine Wünsche offen.Die ruhige Lage und der große Garten waren ideal zum Entspannen. Die Gastgeber waren außergewöhnlich freundlich und herzlich. Der liebevoll vorbereitete Willkommenskorb war eine tolle Überraschung und hat uns den Start in den Urlaub versüßt.Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können dieses Ferienhaus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wonderful Property

Beautiful house in amazing surroundings. Sharon and David were very helpful and left a lovely hamper to welcome us. Great walks for our dogs from the door, lots of places to visit nearby. We will most definitely return to this property.

Fantastic

We have just returned from a weeks holiday in this wonderful cottage. The owners made our family feel very welcome. We had a lovely welcome pack full of goodies waiting for us when we arrived and Sharron popped down to make sure we had settled in ok and recommended places to visit. Lunan beach is a must, we visited around sunset and it was just beautiful! Thank you for a great stay, we would love to return in the future.
