An unforgettable 40th birthday weekend! We stayed here for a surprise 40th birthday and will remember it forever! The property is absolutely stunning, incredibly spacious, and set within truly fabulous grounds. It has all the amenities you could ever need for a perfect group stay. The owner, Emma, was amazing. She was incredibly helpful, answered all our questions, and even received our deliveries before we arrived. Her recommendations made the weekend extra special. She put us in touch with Ray, who with his excellent team organised an incredible clay pigeon shooting experience. His wife cooked a fantastic BBQ with plenty of drinks. Emma also recommended our caterer, Tilda, who cooked a wonderful birthday meal in the great kitchen facilities. We highly recommend this property and Emma’s wonderful hospitality! Thank you so much, Emma! xx
Arriving at this exquisite estate/home for a week to celebrate my 60th BD I was in awe at its expansive beauty. The peace you feel on this property is palpable, the views of the English countryside take your breath away, the flower gardens, roses everywhere, the gentle scent of sweet peas, the amazing vegetable gardens, that we got to use and make some fabulous lunches, fresh eggs from there chickens, incredible pool, tennis court, yoga studio, birds singing, sheep barring, the church bells chiming in the distance, the peace you feel, there are no words to describe. Each bedroom is uniquely decorated, with super comfy beds and wonderful bedding. We slept so well. There are so many areas and nooks to sit and relax, read a good book, enjoy the peace. We used and enjoyed every space on this gorgeous property. This country estate is above and beyond amazing. The owners Emma and Paul are so kind, so thoughtful, so incredibly generous with all the support they gave us from the beginning to the end of our stay. Thank you from all of our hearts for everything you did for us, for your generosity of spirit, for creating such a magical place for us all to stay. For all the love you showered over us. I will cherish every moment of our stay there forever. It was perfect in every way.I would recommend this home to anyone, especially if you want to experience a little bit of peace from the busy world we all live in. It’s Magical. With our love C & J xxx

Had a wonderful time in the “cabin” at Emma’s wonderful estate. The space was perfect for just me and as embarrassing as it is, was able to live my “The Holiday” dream. Though no Jude Law appearance, I was able to easily access the surrounding villages and the people could not have been more wonderful. An A+ all around! Thanks so much and hope to be back again soon!
Amazing house. Stunning views of the rolling hills. Shere is a great town in walking distance.
Host was very accommodating. Arrived to find a plate of home made brownies waiting in the kitchen. Treat! Stunning house. Very well laid out and nicely decorated. Beautiful artworks. Views of the rolling hills from the newly built conservatory were breathtaking.
Had an amazing bbq dinner then enjoyed a dip in the pool afterwards. Didn't get a chance to use to tennis courts which was in top condition though.
Overall one my my best home away from home stays. Highly recommend.
This was the ideal house for us grandparents to share with our son and daughter, their partners and our lively grandchildren. Very comfortable with lots of books and art, a perfect swimming pool for the youngsters, tennis court for their parents, excellent pubs within walking distance and idyllic scenery all around. And a charming and helpful owner. Hope I make it to my 80th!
We spent a week in Tor Hatch with a group aged 5-84. The pool, trampoline, grounds, tennis court were all amazing and got lots of use. Emma and Paul were wonderful hosts
I booked the property as a surprise for my husband's 30th birthday with some friends. We were initially due to stay in June, however, due to covid we had to reschedule. Throughout the whole process Emma was so helpful and very patient. She was easy to communicate with and very accommodating, which made planning this trip so much more easier. I would highly recommend Tor Hatch to groups of friends and families alike. There is definitely something for everyone. You can definitely see the love and attention which Emma and Paul have given to this property! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your brautiful home, Emma.

Tor Hatch is a true gem, as are the owners Emma and Paul. I almost want to keep this treasure a secret, but anyone looking for an ideal, rural retreat just outside London should experience it. From the grounds with a bountiful vegetable garden and chicken coup, to the pool, tennis court, lawns for cricket and play to the home which is artistically and perfectly fabulous, yet comfortably casual. Dreamy views from all rooms as far as the horizon takes you, it’s surely a memorable stay any time of year. We can’t wait to revisit time and time again!

We had the most perfect stay over New Years at Tor Hatch. The house is stunning and so are the surrounding areas. We took a New Years Eve stroll down to the local village which was lovely.
Emma was the perfect host and kept in touch throughout and accommodated all our needs.
We’re already planning our next visit!
Thank you Emma for everything!
Absolutely first class experience at Tor Hatch.
We had the most wonderful stay and Birthday weekend at the property. Emma was a perfect host. Very friendly, helpful and made us feel totally at Home. Bedrooms were gorgeous and the wood fires were lit around the House in the evening. Everything was ready for us and Emma made an incredible Breakfast for us all too!
We will definitely return and cant say enough nice things about our experience.
Thanks Emma!

Tor Hatch is an amazing property. We hired it for our wedding weekend as a base for the wedding party to get to spend some time together before the big day, as well as to have everyone get ready at the morning of the wedding. The pool was a big hit with everyone, and Emma and her husband made sure we had everything we needed. The house is clean, light and airy and the rooms are a great size and very comfy. Overall, we had an amazing stay and can't wait for an excuse to come back!
We chose this property in order to have three generations of our family together to celebrate a big birthday. There were 11 of us.
Four adults and five kids slept in the main house where there was ample space. Two of us stayed in the beautiful summer house which had a cosy bedroom, en suite bathroom and fully fitted kitchen. Many of us commented how comfortable the beds, bedding and pillows were. There was more than enough space for us to group together or relax in seperate areas within the house.
The grounds were extensive and the views were fantastic. Plenty of places for the kids to charge around and the adults to wander. We were lucky enough to have warm sunny weather and so the pool was a particular hit, especially with the kids.
Emma and Paul were in the nearby cottage and whilst Emma popped in a couple of times to see if we had all we needed, their presence was unobtrusive.
If we were picky, we would have liked the main fridge to have been large enough to hold all our food but perhaps we simply had too much food!
Emma's speedy replies to our emails was appreciated and the whole check in-out process went well.
So, a lovely break in a large, comfortable house with fantastic views and very helpful hosts. We thoroughly recomment it and would come again.

The perfect venue in a beautiful setting
Having been through the stress of searching for a Hen Party venue, I was so happy when I came across Tor Hatch! Not only did the photos display the stunning house and surrounding views, but it was also one of the very few houses I could find in Surrey which was big enough to sleep 14 girls. I was so excited to see what the house was like, and it certainly didn't disappoint as Tor Hatch is an absolutely beautiful house with stunning views of the Surrey Hills!
Emma and Paul were brilliant right from the beginning and made us feel so welcome and at home. The house was very comfortable, spacious and was well equipped with everything we needed. All the girls who attended the Hen Party loved the house and more importantly the Bride-to-be couldn't have been happier (especially after a gin tour at the Silent Pool Gin Distillery which was only a 5 minute drive from Tor Hatch).
I would love to stay again at Tor Hatch and would recommend it to anyone and everyone! Thank you Emma and Paul for allowing us to have such a wonderful stay x

Wonderful hosts and prefect location!
We can't recommend highly enough our stay at Tor Hatch. We came from Boston to have an extended family reunion with our English family including 3 generations, ages 4 to 77. The house and its surrounding gardens, tennis court and pool were the perfect setting. We even hosted a big luncheon for 20+ family members and Emma and Paul helped us out with catering and ensuring the whole day was a success. We can't wait to have the opportunity to stay there again. You have all the amenities of a cozy family home with a luxurious setting and incredible views. Fleur and Avi

Completely magical!
Our immediate family and their partners congregated in the Surrey Hills for a wedding reception and stayed at Tor Hatch. This is an incredible home made for family and grounded in comfort. It combines the feel and look of an old English estate with modern amenities. We swam, played tennis and lounged outdoors wanting nothing more than to enjoy the stunning vistas. The tiny village of Shere is a 10-minute walk away, and Heathrow a 35-minute drive. If I ever want to run away from it all, I'll head to Emma and Paul's restorative spot again and stay for as long as possible!

Perfect Setting for A Fabulous Girly Weekend
Ten of us arrived at Tor Hatch on 9th April for a girly retreat to celebrate my 25th birthday. The village is quaint and perfect, the grounds are picturesque and the property is so so beautiful, luxury and comfortable, the girls loved their bedrooms! I hosted an afternoon tea and a treasure hunt and Emma was so accommodating and flexible. The house was so enjoyable in the spring so we can't wait to experience it in British summertime! Great memories.

STUNNING!!!!!!!
What a beautiful location, home and owners!!!! I arrived to collect the keys, a little early but was greeted by the most welcoming home owners Emma and Paul. Emma kindly showed me everything I needed to know and then was on her way!
The location is set in a stunning little village which was amazing for afternoon walks.
The home itself is so warm and welcoming with the most outstanding gardens with picturesque views, breath taking! I couldn't recommend a better property for a nice chilled get away. Thank you again to such fantastic home owners who made everything so simple and couldn't have been more helpful! Homemade granola and cake waiting for our arrival!!!!

About the host
Hosted by Emma O'Hea
Tor Hatch is a substantial home which has been in our family for three generations. Set in the Surrey hills, five minutes walk from the idyllic picture postcard village of Shere with stunning views all round it is a delightful place to live. We have 5 grown up children so HOME has been an important hub. With a newly refurbished kitchen with AGA, wood burning stove, Apple TV, Sonos sound system and snug it is more cosy and welcoming than ever. We both love our grounds, large vegetable garden and rearing free range chickens. Living 50 minutes from London and 45 minutes from Heathrow and Gatwick is a joy. We love entertaining so Tor Hatch is well equipped for dining, barbecues, pool and tennis parties. We would like to travel more and want others to enjoy Tor Hatch in our absence.
Why they chose this property
Paul's parents and grandparents lived in this wonderful spot and we were thrilled to take over the property in 2011 and benefit from its brilliant location. We are keen walkers and the Surrey hills extend from our doorstep with miles of rolling countryside. Access to the airports is great and is an easy journey into London by train or car. Guildford is a fantastic city for shopping, restaurants, yoga facilities and nationwide connections. We love living in a quiet spot but with shops and pubs walking distance away. Polo, tennis, racing all nearby. We are in an area of outstanding beauty too. We cannot imagine a more perfect location for living. Our grown up children are regular visitors and in the summer it is a haven where they escape from London for home grown veg, pool and court!
What makes this property unique
Whilst staying at the property you can tailor make the perfect visit. For keen walkers and cyclists there are endless possibilities- taking in pubs en route! Families with young children will enjoy the garden, pool, baby pool and tennis court. The sunken trampoline is safe and fun. A wander through the fields to Shere is a delight with the reward of quaint village with ice creams, tea shop, 12C church and ducks in the stream to feed. We are well set up for entertaining. Formally in the dining room ( second dishwasher a great help) or weather permitting barbecuing on the lawn with unspoilt views. The pool house is self contained for summer lunches or suppers. Theatre, sight seeing, fine dining, museums and all London has to offer is only 40 minutes by train. Seaside and beach is an hour.
