About this property
Coastal Cabana View Home -Nov 1 BDR remodel, interior refresh, backyard oasis!!
COMING SOON Nov 1st!! Enlarged 1st floor bedroom w/closet and Queen Size Bed. All fresh paint and refinished flooring throughout. Backyard REDO - new patio/gazebo entertainment area!! Pictures will be updated soon!!
The Cabana is perfectly situated that's just a short walk to the Admiral neighborhood or Alaska Junction, you have all of the benefits of city living at your back door while vacationing in a quaint neighborhood. The West Seattle community offers a lifestyle for every inclination and lifestyle. With it's active nightlife, beach activities and parks you can take in every conceivable activity. The Cascades are just 1hr drive away where you can ski, hike, fish and mountain bike. Take the local Water Taxi (foot ferry) from Alki beach/Harbor Ave or public transport to downtown Seattle and STADIUMS. The home is ideally located without driving too deep into West Seattle and within close proximity to hitting the road and seeing the sights!
The two-story home has an open floor plan and vaulted ceiling for the dining, living and kitchen area to maximize every inch of it's 800sq feet. The space has a comfortable three person sofa, recliner, Roku streaming TV and electric fireplace that can used for ambiance and/or heat. Custom white washed planked flooring, wave-like tile work and ocean hues of light blue, gray and driftwood give one the sense that you are visiting a coastal cottage.
The kitchen has concrete quartz countertops, stainless appliances, tons of amenities, serviceware and a double oven with a separate French door pantry. The refrigerator has filtered water found inside it's doors and an icemaker. This opens to the main living area with a collapsible dining table to seat 4 and cozy fireplace with reclaimed wood surround and inset big screen TV. From there you have a peek-a-boo view of the snow-capped mountains and sparkling city lights.... and fireworks on the 4th!
The 2nd floor master bedroom has plenty of light with a new Sleep Innovations memory-foam queen sized bed, Roku streaming TV and closet. There are two full bathrooms with quartz countertops, seafoam colored bubble backsplash, pearlescent gray wavy tile floors and deep bathtubs. On the bottom floor you'll find one of the two bathrooms that sleeps two currently featuring a beach mural, trundle bed (twin bed drawer that pulls out from beneath regular twin bed) with sliding door access to the back porch, dining patio and yard. This bedroom is in the process of upgrading to enlarge the room with a closet, additional windows and queen sized bed to be completed by November 1st!
The yard is a natural landscape of boulders, grasses, flowers and palms with a winding path that circles the home. Though it is not fenced the new backyard patio and gazebo area provides plenty of privacy in this little sanctuary with soft seating and entertainment space (to be completed Nov 1st). It is a SHARED backyard area between the Cabana and main house with thoughtfully placed bamboo for privacy.
Lots of street parking available as well as a designated parallel parking spot in front of the home's garage. Propane barbecue available for your use anytime. We have newly installed AC cooling and heating in units throughout the home. Floor fans are stored under the stairs and a travel crib is available upon request.

About the host
Hosted by Rebecca Zielinski

We are a family of 4 that is heavily involved in our kids activities, from coaching to volunteering. We love the outdoors, the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and supporting our community. While David grew up mostly in California but also New Jersey, he found Seattle to be the place he calls home and is a firefighter with the Seattle Fire Department. As for me, I have lived in Seattle my entire life but lived abroad too just to be sure this is the place I would call home. My newest adventure is in opening a retail store about 7 miles south of West Seattle which features home decor, design, furnishings and gifts.
Why they chose this property
We have loved hosting and listed a property with many 5-star reviews for both the home and our hospitality. While we managed it, we lived in the "Cabana" which is a detached home we built ourselves right next door. We decided to remain in the Cabana and continued to host our other property until we ultimately decided to build a new home in it's place. Now that we have completed our project and moved in, we are sad to leave our Cabana but are thrilled to offer it up as a vacation rental. It served our family of 4 very well!
What makes this property unique
Access, access, access! This home is located in a fantastic community with a myriad of activities and a variety of shops and restaurants. The location is perfect for hopping on the freeway, BUT not so close that you can hear or see it! It is also ideal for walking to everything... parks and Alki beach are nearby. The home itself is lovingly adorned with treasures from the coast, salvaged and revitalized pieces with a nod to our favorite pacific islands.
