This is a beautiful, Cape Cod style cottage that is only an 8 minute walk from the beach. Located in the private Chalker Beach Association in Old Saybrook, CT, this rental has been meticulously furnished with nautical themes throughout. At 1,036 sq. ft., this cottage has hardwood floors, pocket doors and a gorgeous family room, living room and full dining room. It has 3 bedrooms, which sleep up to 6 people. The bathrooms and kitchen are modernized with great amenities including a breakfast bar, washer/dryer and dishwasher. Located on a beautiful lot with an outdoor shower, patio and plenty of parking, this cottage is complete with cable and high speed WiFi. The cottage has window A/C units.

Lovely

The cottage was just lovely and very comfortable. It was only about a ten minute walk to the beach and the private beach was very nice. The front porch was one of our favorite parts of the stay. We had everything we needed to make meals with a large kitchen. We felt right at home.

Great stay!

What a lovely home! This cottage will definitely make you feel at home with all the amentities you will need! We had a wonderful stay during a hot July week ... beach just a nice walk ... hope we can make it back to this gem!

Cottage perfect for families

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Old Saybrook. The cottage was perfect for us, the private beach was cozy, and when we wanted big waves, we took a road trip to RI. We also visited Mystic for a fun day. Ann Marie was easily accessible and the welcome basket was devoured by day 2.

Wonderful Chalker

Chalker Beach is a wonderful place. Close to the beach beautiful inside very clean parking pass for the beach. AnnMarie and Wayne are great host. Very responsive to any request. Hope to go back next year.

We had a fantastic stay. We’ve been coming to Chalker for many years but this is the first time we rented. Couldn’t ask for anything else. We were very comfortable all week. The special touches were greatly appreciated.

Just what our family needed!

After the recent passing of my husband our family was looking for a getaway to all be together. This cottage was by far the best one I have ever rented. We enjoyed our stay very much and didn"t want our week to end. Hopefully, if Ann Marie will have us, we will be back next year!

Charming beach cottage

This cottage worked perfectly for our visit to Old Saybrook. Loved the front porch and the back screened in area. The one AC unit upstairs was the only inconvenience but we did make it work by leaving bedroom doors open. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

Wonderful week at the cottage

Our recent stay at the cottage was absolutely wonderful! The cottage is located walking distance from the beach where we spent most of our days. The cottage itself is clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We especially liked the personal touches, the welcome basket and fresh flowers. The owners were most helpful and great to work with. Looking forward to coming back next year!

Wonderful Time

This is my second time renting this home. The house is very clean and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Ann Marie is available if necessary and is a delight. Once you arrive it feels like home away from home. Love it.

Fun Fourth of July stay at Chalker Beach

This house worked great for our family and had everything we needed. It was very clean which we appreciated. The owners were helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. We also enjoyed the activities like Bingo organized by the Chalker Beach association. It is about a ten minute walk to the beach but you can park in a lot across from the beach once you get the temporary parking permit which makes it easy to bring your stuff there.

Wonderful hosts

Amazing week in Old Saybrook!! The home was adorable. So many nice touches such as a welcome basket and flowers. Both owners were more than gracious and answered every question. They went beyond kindness when they shared their backyard kayak launch. Thanks Wayne and Ann. We will be back.

The Perfect Getaway

Although we could've gone anywhere for a vacation, this little wonder of a cottage, caught my eye. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. The cottage may appear small from the outside but it's more than spacious inside. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone. To top things off, we had many rainy days here and the owner allowed us to extend our time, by a few days; at NO charge, since the weekend we were due to leave, was filled with sunshine! Who does that? We're definitely coming back!

Nice cottage, but several inconveniences

The cottage itself was charming, peaceful, and nicely maintained — a lovely spot once settled in. However, there were several inconveniences that impacted our overall experience.We were disappointed to find out we needed to bring our own sheets, towels, and toiletries — something that’s not easy when flying across the country from Arizona to Connecticut. After a long travel day and arriving late in the evening, the last thing we wanted to do was make beds before we could rest.Additionally, the lockbox for the key was difficult to open, which made arrival even more frustrating. Communication with the owner was slow,which didn’t help with coordinating details.In short, while the cottage itself was pleasant, the lack of basic essentials, late-night arrival hassles, and logistical snags made the experience more stressful than it should have been. With a few thoughtful improvements, this rental could be more guest - friendly.

The cottage was beautiful and immaculately clean. It was comfortable and had unexpected features, such as an outdoor shower with hot water for folks returning from the beach. Chalker Beach is a short walk away, where the sand is groomed regularly. The cottage also featured a screened gazebo and grill for outdoor dining. Our hosts gave us a warm welcome! We can't say enough how much we loved our stay.

The cottage was adorable and a great size for our family (mom, dad, two children). It was very clean and a short walk to the beach. The size of the beach and the tranquil water were ideal for our kids’ ages (5 and 8). The people in the neighborhood and on the beach itself were very friendly! Old Saybrook is a super cute town with a lot of family friendly restaurants, which is always a plus. Communication with our host was easy and pleasant. We had a lovely week!

This cottage is part of the private Chalker Beach Association. This means that while you rent, you will have access to a private association beach, parking lot and right of way. In addition there are two clubhouses, a basketball court, a baseball diamond, a playscape and a variety of weekly family friendly activities including arts and crafts for kids, BINGO and movies on the beach.

What makes this property unique

This cottage is pristine and is in a central, yet peaceful location. You are a short 8 minute walk or 3 minute bike ride to the beach, yet have a wonderful backyard and patio space for summertime activities, like grilling. The cottage is less than a minute from Route 1, which will take you into historic downtown Old Saybrook in under 5 minutes. A Big Y grocery store is conveniently located less than a mile away along with numerous restaurants and shops including a YMCA. The cottage is located just a mile from I-95 and 10 minutes from a movie theater and shopping outlets in Westbrook and Clinton.
