Please join us for a wonderful stay in Fredericksburg, TX. After a long day of antiques, wineries, hunting, shopping, wedding planning and more come relax and rest by the hot tub and pool on the expansive back porch. Sunshine Haus is a premier private estate available to rent as a B&B in Fredericksburg.

Sunshine Haus is a Fredericksburg landmark that was built in 1938 by a prominent local doctor. It has been fully renovated to the era but with modern amenities. Sunshine Haus is close to downtown, yet it sits on a private 2.5 acre tract with a large pool and hot tub. If you prefer to stay inside, the house has 3000+ square feet, two wood burning fireplaces, a kitchen to die for, and televisions, toys and games for the kids.

The description for the beds/sleep number was inaccurate. The description and picture showed a twin bed in the den (as well as a pull out couch) however there was no twin bed in that room. The linens in the bottom trundle bed were not laundered, smelled of urine, and had visible stains. No true window coverings, just sheer/see through curtains or no coverings. On the positive side, plenty of parking, plenty of space for all ages to enjoy. Well stocked with creature comforts. Easy check out process.

Perfect place for a couples weekend! 5 bedrooms and 3 baths... couple that came up late stayed on daybed in second living room. We loved the pool and hot tub! Definitely want to come back again with the kids and explore Enchanted Rock and nature.

Perfect house

We go to Fredricksburg every year for a friends birthday and have stayed at several different houses and hotels and the Sunshine Haus was the best I have experienced by far. Plenty of room for 5 couples, an awesome patio and outdoor area, clean, and close enough to town where walking is possible.

The Sunshine Haus was a beautiful mini-vacation in itself. We loved all the room, ample bathrooms and the hot tub in the backyard. A little cool in Texas when we visited but I think the pool would have been used by my family if we had visited when warmer. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to stay in this home.

Relaxing stay in Fredericksburg

We had a very nice stay with relatives that were visiting us in San Antonio. The house has a nice stretched out floorplan with a couple living rooms. The kitchen is very nice and well equipped. We spent more time at the house than expected, because it was so comfortable. The evenings by the pool with the bbq going were great. We would definitely stay again.

The Sunshine Haus was everything it was billed to be. Plenty of room for 4 couples with enough living areas and outdoor space so that no one was tripping over one another. The backyard is absolutely awesome with plenty of room to swim, socialize, and spread out. The kitchen is great and we made full use of it during our stay. I would certainly stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends.

Why they chose this property

You will love this property all year round. This property boasts the largest swimming pool in the city grid. Sunshine Haus also has two fireplaces and a hot tub for cool nights. Finally, it is the largest privately owned property within the grid. Come stay and play in this large private estate.

Also of interest, this home was built by the first modern doctor in Fredericksburg in the 1940s. He and his wife got in a fight during the building of the house, because he wanted a bowling alley. With this, the house has a full basement the length of the house that once was a bowling alley. How cool is this?

What makes this property unique

We renovated this house with entertainment in mind, both inside and out. We annually host a summer party that draws 100+ people in our backyard and we have hosted other special events. The property is great for girl’s weekends, boy’s weekends, family reunions, large parties and more. Our goal is for you to enjoy Fredericksburg and to have a wonderful experience at Sunshine Haus.
