So glad you all had a great week together! Very nice to have met you, and find out we came from the same city and have friends in common! Small world indeed.
Surprised we were expected to do our own laundry before departure. We've never been asked to do this before at a VRBO property.

We have not offered laundry service since Covid arrived as a precautionary measure. We also do not charge a cleaning fee so it's a tradeoff as I believe most VRBO properties charge a cleaning fee which pays for cleaning and laundry...
When we offered laundry service, we found that most of our guests would rather do up the bedding than pay us to do it. The house has a large capacity washer and two dryers. Sorry to hear it was a surprise to you.
This property was exactly what you would expect for an Adirondack vacation. The house was built and outfitted with great detail for comfort and hospitality. Looking forward to returning.

Thank you for your comments! it always makes up happy to hear our guests enjoyed their holiday in the Adirondacks!
The house was nice and provided everything we needed for a weekend getaway! The deck was perfect for grilling and relaxing while watching the sea planes take off and land. Beds were comfortable and the game room was a nice bonus during the rain.

Glad to hear that the house worked well for you! Lots to do even when it rains!
This is an amazing property in a private location directly on the lake. It provides a true updated Adirondack experience, with lovely furnishings and modern appliances. The entire place was clean and well stocked with everything in working order. The outdoor spaces are even better than pictured and we spent most of our time outdoors. We only had one rainy day but even then there is plenty of space in the house to enjoy some indoor time…screen porch, reading loft and an expansive lower level rec room. Insider Tip: Make breakfast on the deck using the Weber griddle. Pancakes never tasted so good!
Everything about our stay and this property was exceptional. A clean, well kept and inviting home with beautiful views of Long Lake. It was hard to have to leave!
We are already planning a longer stay next year.
I stayed at this gorgeous property with three of my oldest friends from childhood, and it was perfect. Lovely cabin, lovely view, and great location with proximity to several beautiful mountains. Appreciated that it was dog friendly for my little old lady, too. The owner was responsive and kind as well.
Beautiful trip. It was nice to have a place to relax, shoot pool and throw darts . Lots of places to hike near by. The boys loved watching the snow fall while relaxing in the hot tub.
This is our second time staying at this property and we had an excellent stay. The home and location are so beautiful and our hosts were so welcoming. Our dog loved roaming freely and swimming every day, even in the rain. This has become a treasured place for us and we'll surely return. Thank you!
Had the pleasure of staying at this property during a snowy thanksgiving! The house is exactly what a lake house should be. Views from every level! The hot tub was a fun addition! Twin 8 year olds had a blast. Plenty of room for them and grandparents.
Our time at Timber Hill was wonderful. The house was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable; and most important to us, dog friendly. The lake was perfect. We enjoyed each day swimming and relaxing on the dock.
Amy, our host, thought of everything.
The cabin had tall peaked ceilings with lots of glass for viewing the lake. Lots of room, including a “man cave” on the lower level with a pool table, a big TV, darts and a jacuzzi. The place was clean and well equipped. Lovely, quiet road to walk the dogs and enjoy the amazing fall colors.

I am thinking one star was a mistake?

My and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 days. It was our first time ever renting a VRBO and we couldn’t have asked for a better time and overall experience. Not only was the house just as perfect as we thought but the surrounding area was covered in beautiful colors of trees and made the entire vacation a surreal dream.
Our family of five--plus the dog--had an excellent vacation at Timber Hill. The house has a lot of room and all the amenities you could ask for. The outdoor spaces--from decks to hot tub to fire pit to the dock--are perfect for however you wish to spend your time. The house is also close to town and other fun destinations in the Adirondacks. The owners were very helpful and friendly. We all had a great time and highly recommend this amazing spot on Long Lake.

About the host
Hosted by Amy Van Laak
We (Paul and Amy grew up vacationing in the Adirondacks. After we met and got married, we had a vacation home on Long Lake (that Paul built in the late 80's). We have lived abroad for 20 years but come back to Long Lake during the summers. After Amy completed an MBA, we decided to take on a small real estate project ...Timber Hill.
Why they chose this property
We bought Timber Hill from a neighbor after falling in love with the view. We were looking for another property to share with people who would appreciate the lake as we do. There are very few accommodations on Long Lake and we hoped it would be a positive endeavor. Almost everyone who has been our guest had a connection with Long Lake and the desire to return! Those who visited for the first time were surprisingly impressed with its beauty and solitude.
What makes this property unique
Timber Hill has an outstanding view to the north through the pines from the upper deck. The deck is large and set in the treetops and offers a perfectly enjoyable extension of the interior living space with lounge beds, dining table and bar. The lake front offers views to the south and north and access easily to town with a motor boat, row boat, or kayaks. Trails are all around and a walk to town is possible through the woods. Lots of property for pets to enjoy! Being pet owners, and being in the mountains, it is only fair to be able to bring along the WHOLE family!
