About this property

Magical Garden Retreat with Pool, Hot Tub & Mountain Views✨

Located in the Indian Palms Country Club, this is a fabulous house for the Coachella and Stage Coach music festivals, Joshua Tree National Park, and the Thermal HITS horse show (as well as for the PGA West golf tournament and Indian Wells Tennis Garden).
The property lends itself to indoor/outdoor living at its best! The back yard offers a surprisingly secluded retreat with views of mountains looming in the not-too-far distance. Enclosed by living walls of tall green vegetation, the garden is planted with aloes, milkweeds (to attract butterflies), roses and other increasingly native plantings. The pool is delightfully refreshing on hot days, and the hot tub -- well -- it is almost always a delicious spot to be at. Bougainvillea covers the patio and grill area, where there is an outdoor dining table and chairs, and 4 reclining lounge chairs.
The three bedroom house is gently growing from its 1970's heritage into its more modern, nomadic 2020's self (with some of its 1970's features still in tact ;) The house has an open living/dining area with an adjoining kitchen, a master bedroom with king bed (or two twins), a second bedroom with a California king, and a third bedroom with a queen bed. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and the two other bedrooms share a bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have sliding doors leading to the back/side yards.
Whether waking up to the chorus of birds in trees, roadrunners dashing across the lawn, bright sun and skies or going sleep to chirping crickets and stars blazing overhead, this is a sweet little spot to be at.

A few things to note:
- The house is located in the gated community of Indian Palms, for which you will receive guest passes.
- Our neighborhood is very peaceful; loud partying is not tolerated.
- A dog may be permitted with pre-approval. Please send us information if you are looking to bring your dog.
- Check-in & out is flexible when the cleaning schedule allows.
- The pool can be heated for an additional daily fee.
- The 14% Occupancy Tax is WAIVED for stays of 30 days and more.
- Monthly rates may not be quoted correctly. Please ask if you are interested.

Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please make sure pool settings are returned to normal if you heated the hot tub or pool during your stay.
Please make sure that the propane valve is fully closed for the grill if you use the grill.
Please bring the bins for garbage recycling compost to the curb on Sunday or if it’s a holiday weekend on Monday
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No diving or jumping in the pool or hot tub (pool is 2’ and 5’ at each end). Host not liable for accidents that occur in pool or hot tub.
Neighborhood Enforced Quiet Hours:10:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. Noise complaints filed by neighbors are subject to a $100 fee per occurrence.
Pool can be heated with advance permission. The pool heating fee is $45/day.

wonderful desert retreat

More than enough room, lovely backyard and relaxing pool for our family of three and small pup to enjoy. Managers were easy to communicate with and check-in and departure instructions were easy to follow.Quiet neighborhood close to grocery stores and restaurants. Would totally book again!!

Great Home and Ideal Location

Home was wonderful! Beds & pillows very comfortable which is always important to me! Location is excellent for Stagecoach and Coachella Festivals. Local residents are also very helpful with transport to and from the festivals for minimal to no cost!! Homeowner communication was excellent!! Thank You Brooks!!!

Lovely property and location

We booked to stay for 4 nights and were travelling across from San Diego where the weather was turning cooler and wanted to finish our holiday in the hot climate of Indio. The facilities at the house were great and spent most of the day in and out of the pool. Very comfortable beds and each room with A/C meant the hot nights didn’t cause us any issues. BBQ was used every day and the kitchen facilities were spot on. Would definitely return and recommend staying here.

Wonderful home, relaxing atmosphere

My spouse and I needed to get away from the fog on the coast and get nice and hot while relaxing. This place did the trick plus some! Brooks is an awesome and communicative host, you know exactly what you’re getting and you’ll be happy renting this spot for a relaxing getaway! I wish there were more bars and restaurants near the place since we like to be out among people, but if you’re looking to cook- a wonderful kitchen waits for you here too.

Fantastic summer evenings and comfortable home

Everything was so easy and perfect. Even though it was really hot hot during the day, the backyard cooled off in the evening and we enjoyed being outside poolside and in the pool. Younger adults loved the jacuzzi. Inside the home everything was neat and organized and made it easy to be there.

Great house and sunny pool!

We thoroughly enjoyed this home, the floorplan is outstanding with a large living room and the master bedroom opens out to the hot tub and pool. With southern exposure on the back of the home the pool get excellent sunlight all day and the owners will heat the pool daily for a nominal fee. Barbecue grill works great also. We will be back

Even better than pictures. Wonderful pool. Comfy beds. Kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. It was only a short drive to get on I 10. Off street parking. Also easy to find. Would stay at again.

Much needed break

My spouse and 10 yr old dog enjoyed (5) nights decompressing from our stressful lives. The property had everything we needed. The owner is extremely responsive and accommodating. Definitely on our list of places to stay at again.

Great stay for Coachella

We stayed here for Coachella weekend and had a great experience - it's a perfect location to be able to walk into and out of the festival and avoid crazy traffic, and the property itself was lovely.

Good pool for little kids

This house is in a gated, quiet country club community. We are a family with two small children and found the house to be comfortable and laid out well. The pool is a great size for little children, it's only about 3 ft at the shallow end and 5 ft of the deep end. Our four-year-old and 8 year old had a great time in the pool. The yard is nicely landscaped, and the kitchen is situated with a big window that grants a full view of the pool to watch the kids. Our only complaint would be that the shallowness of the pool combined with the ambient heat meant that the pool was never cool. This didn't seem to affect how much the kids enjoyed it. This would be a great place to stay in the off season when you want a heated pool that would probably heat up very quickly, or maybe not need to be heated at all. The house is all tile, so it cooled off inside very quickly when we kicked on the air. The beds are comfortable, and we slept very well with a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. Several nearby restaurants were available by Doordash within a short amount of time. Our hosts were very friendly, accommodating, and great communicators. Overall we had a great vacation here.

Month-long Summer Vacation

We escaped downtown city living for a simple, quiet getaway with a pool. We loved our stay. Big fridge, great oven, easy to use grill. Pleasant neighborhood. We’d get up and walk the neighborhood then spend mornings in the pool. We’d go back out to grill and hung out in the pool all evening. Beautiful views all around! You could see the mountains in the distance and watch the prettiest sunsets. We brought our dog, who loved the tile floors. Very comfy master bedroom. Very spacious living room, perfect for movies and games. Also, our host was incredibly responsive and was very good about reminding us of trash day, etc. was a fantastic experience!

Loved it!

This is a very private property in a nice neighborhood. We took walks everyday and enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful landscape plants that just don't grow where we live. We also attended polo matches at the nearby grounds. We will be back!

Relaxing Well-located Desert Getaway

We stayed here during the Sandstorm Lacrosse tournament (played at Empire Polo fields). It was a great location. The house was very clean and there was plenty of space in the bedrooms for two people each. The kitchen is roomy and well appointed with everything you need to cook. The backyard is VERY beautiful and private. Having a pool and hot tub was a definite plus!!! We enjoyed our stay over the long weekend very much and would definitely stay here again!!

This was our first time staying in Indio; we went because of the tamale festival. Brooks' home was perfect for us. It was comfy, had everything we needed, and the backyard was beautiful! Brooks was very helpful and responsive to all questions.

Great Place to Relax!!

We are 60-something retirees; our second trip to the Palm Springs area. This property met all our desires perfectly. The home is set in a gated golf course community, with south-ish facing back yard adjoining the course. We totally enjoyed the pool/spa - just the right size for evening dips. Being a full-sized house, all facilities were available for our use - laundry, full kitchen, living room/TV, etc. Neighborhood was quiet enough - we took walks around the community in the evenings - never felt uncomfortable doing that. Brooks was always available if we had questions and was pleasant to work with! She provided all the info we needed to enjoy the many features of the house. Our stay in Indio met our need for relaxation and re-charging to a tee.

Oasis in the Desert

We enjoyed our stay in your home. It fit our needs perfectly. We cooked all of our meals in your well equipped kitchen. The family loved the pool in the morning and late afternoon / evening. All in all a great place to relax and spend time with our family.

Wonderful place!

We so enjoyed our first experience with a VRBO property. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The privacy of the backyard was great. We particularly enjoyed walks around the neighborhood and meeting some of the friendly residents. We will be back for sure to enjoy this house again.

Spectacular view while having fun in the sun!

The "Garden Retreat" is a comfortable, cozy home with plenty of room and privacy! We loved the location in a well maintained, gated, golf community. We thoroughly enjoyed the salt water hot tub with the gorgeous views of the mountains. The landscaping and gardens are beautiful. We highly recommend renting from the owner, Brooks. Her instructions and hospitality were superb! She was very helpful and accommodating! This is a great place to unwind, relax and enjoy the sunshine and view in a quiet, safe neighborhood! Thank you, Brooks! We will definitely rent this beautiful oasis in the future!

An oasis of calm with stunning views of mountains.

We had a relaxing 3 night stay at this well equipped house with a day of hiking at Joshua Tree National Park and an evening in La Quinta Old Town, plus evenings in the hot tub watching a meteor shower. Brooks was a super helpful host pointing us to the best local activities and eateries. She even added a hairdryer at my request. The bbq grill cooks a great steak and the pancake griddle and electric orange juicer got a workout too. Fresh lemons growing in the back yard by the sparkling clean pool. Heaven!

amazing experience!

This is a fabulous rental property! We spent most of our time in the pool, hot tub, or lounging in the garden area. The back yard is private and really sweet. The house too is easy-going and relaxed. Just what we were looking for! If you are at this end of the Coachella Valley, this house is the perfect place to stay!

This is a family house that my sister and I inherited from our mother, who was a wonderful and lively horsewoman and enlightenment-seeker. We are travelers who love to explore, meet people, and learn new ways. I live in Cambridge, MA, with family and animals -- my sister in San Francisco. (Photo circa 2006)

Why they chose this property

Our mother bought this house in 1996 so she could bring her horses to the HITS horse show each winter. She, and we, love the ease and comfort of the house and its location. We also love the friendly, more low-key nature of Indian Palms -- it's a gated community without attitude.

What makes this property unique

We love the backyard! Lounging under the bougainvillea-covered trellis, soaking in the hot tub, cooling off in the pool, watching butterflies and birds drift between plants... all with views of the Santa Rosa mountains looming in the distance. It's magical!
