We found this property to be spotlessly clean. Great views and lovely outside seating area. A great place to relax and do nothing but read books, look at the stars or sit outside with a glass of something. We wish we could have stayed longer.

We were looking for a quiet, relaxing stay. This is the place for it! We had horses nearby along with a lovely view of the New Forest. The host was very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed the eggs from the lively hens. We want to go back when there there are more daylight hours so we can explore the Forest more.. The apartment is very comfortable, with a very well-equipped kitchen.

The property has everything you need. It is very quiet once the crows settle down for the night which was interesting to watch from the balcony. The fresh eggs and milk were appreciated. The roads to the village are narrow which is expected in a small secluded place. We had a lovely stay and will stay again if revisiting the area.

I was glad to hear you enjoyed your break at Greenbanks and found it relaxing.
Our chickens work hard to supply fresh eggs for our guests and you are always welcome to help yourselves to more eggs fresh every morning.
I hope you also made use of the garden and the lovely runner beans that are in season at the moment.
I would love to welcome you back to Greenbanks when you are next in need of a break.
Best wishes to you both Carol
We loved staying Greenbanks, the hosts Carol and Barry were most welcoming. Prior to our arrival Carol gave us very accurate directions to the property as it is a hidden gem. They greeted us on arrival and a welcome pack of eggs, milk tea and coffee awaited us. Greenbanks was spotlessly clean and the location is perfect, such a peaceful, tranquil place, yet within easy access to the New Forest, the south coast or Salisbury. We felt so relaxed and refreshed after our 2 days there which was just too short. We will definitely return and highly recommend this accommodation. Thank you Carol and Barry.

We stayed in Greenbanks (1) the lounge, bedroom, bathroom spacious upstairs with a balcony to sit out with a view across the countryside,in May enjoying the sounds of birds and sunshine. Plenty of sitting space outdoors and walks around the village, fields and woods. Village pub and cricket field a 10 minute walk. Handy pocket guides for walks from the house, though we had church bells ringing on practice evening to guide us to the Norman church too ! A tranquil place kept beautifully by Carol, excellent communication.

From the easy booking system through to great communication with Carol, the owner, we were looking forward to our stay at Greenbanks. We were not disappointed. The property was spotlessly clean and a great deal of thought has been put into the design and furnishing. Everything was there for us to easily self cater and, unusually, simple to use.
The views can be appreciated from a patio and balcony. It is so quiet and yet lots going on. Fresh eggs from the hen house, fruit and veg - pick your own. The wild birds are relaxing to watch, had me reaching for the binoculars (supplied) and identifying ( book supplied) two green woodpeckers feasting on worms under the lawn.
The local area has much to offer, managed three long walks. My vote goes to the circuit of Christchurch harbour, along Hengistbury Head with a ride on the Mudeford Ferry completing the hike. All in beautiful sunshine.
Thanks to Barry for the tip on driving to Lyndhurst, worked a treat. Parish circuit walk completed.
Would highly recommend Greenbanks as a beautiful place to stay, very comfortable and Carol is so helpful. Easy 5 stars, thank you.

On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owner. There was tea, coffee, milk and home laid eggs in the kitchen.
The garden and surrounding area were very relaxing with fields and trees; plenty of birds and wildlife to watch.
The property was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. Up to date information for the area, including local walks and short strolls around the village, were supplied.
Internet and mobile signal were intermittent. So you need to be able to disconnect!!
A calm and relaxing place for a couples break.

About the host
Hosted by Carol Vincent
Hello My name is Carol Vincent and I am married to Barry. We have been married for over 35 years. We have 1 son James. We have been running Damerham Self Catering since 2013 with many guests returning year after year. We enjoy nothing more than to meet with our guests at the end of the day over a cup of tea or a glass of wine and chat about the day, that's why most of our guests leave as friends... but if you prefer not to chat that's ok with us.
Why they chose this property
Greenbanks is set in what we think is a perfect village location. We used to visit friends who lived in the village and once we arrived we were under the spell that Damerham casts over you and we never wanted to leave. There is always something to enjoy in the village. We have Snowdrop Weekend where you can admire the snowdrops everywhere, especially around the Church Yard, we have a Duck Race at Easter that runs along the banks of the River Allen through the village, then there is potato day and of course our annual village fair to name but a few. We are lucky enough to have very low levels of light pollution so it is an ideal spot to sit out at night and watch the night sky, maybe even make a wish on a shooting star.
What makes this property unique
The accommodation has a comfortable bedroom with a double bed with all your linen included and plenty of storage space. Your en-suite has a nice deep bath with a shower and toiletries and towels are supplied. A well equipped kitchen with full size oven and hob, your dining table and chairs allows you to sit and look out of the patio doors. The lounge has a comfortable sofa and a 32" colour TV which leads out of the patio doors and onto your own balcony. Sitting on your balcony in the morning you can enjoy your morning cuppa watching the sunrise quietly over the trees and in the evening a favourite spot for our guests is by the pond watching the ducklings having their first swimming lessons. We have our own chickens who will lay you fresh eggs for your breakfast. Barry is a keen gardener and enjoys growing lots of veg and salads which are there for you to pick and enjoy, please help yourselves there is always more than enough to go around.
