About the host
Hosted by Gary Lentz
I am a divorced father of five whose last two girls are now exiting high school, giving me the freedom to travel and explore more. I am in the real estate finance world, and enjoy biking, working out, skiing, reading, Giants baseball and college football when I have some downtime. I do very much enjoy entertaining at my lovely home, and also enjoy sharing it with visitors to our lovely slice of heaven here in Sonoma County.
Why they chose this property
When I bought my home, it definitely needed updating. I liked the idea of being able to personalize the home and make it exactly what I wanted. I got to choose every material, every amenity, adding sliding doors to the master bedroom, for instance, to give me quick access to my relaxing hot tub and outdoor fireplace. California really is the home of indoor-outdoor living and I have designed my home with that in mind, for sure. I also like the central location, where I am no more than 30 minutes from all the major attractions and only a little further from the great Pacific Ocean. Some of the world's greatest wineries are about ten minutes from my door!
What makes this property unique
Again, my home is ideal for groups - large families, multiple couples, etc. - and most use it like I do, as an oasis for enjoying a great group meal and some downtime out by the fire with a glass of wine and, possibly, a dip in the hot tub. I think the house is set up perfectly for a very comfortable stay. There are great wineries, restaurants, brewpubs, distillers, spas, shopping and activities very close by, but when you come home from a long day of exploring, it really does feel like it's your home, even if it's only for a few days.
Also, we have a dog door which opens to a dog run. You may bring a well-behaved, mature dog with advanced notice for an additional fee.
