Designer Studio Condo on 29th Floor In Waikiki--Fabulous View! and 100% Legal!

This clean, cozy, modern studio is in the Hawaiian Monarch Hotel in Waikiki, but is privately owned and managed. The unit is on the 29th floor with a wonderful view, a full-size refrigerator, hot-plate, microwave and a really comfortable queen bed!

This unit is privately managed and don't worry, we will do everything we can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. In the building there are restaurants, pool, Jacuzzi, bbq area, car rental, a nightclub, 24 hour security and coin laundry.
Parking in the building is $40-45/day, but there is some street parking in the neighborhood. Also there is a bus stop nearby that will get you almost anywhere. The building is in a really fun part of Waikiki with a short walk to the beach, many restaurants and bars and shopping.


Located at the "gateway" to Waikiki, the Hawaiian Monarch overlooks the beautiful Ala Wai Canal. Enjoy the roof top recreation deck with its swimming pool and panoramic views of Waikiki. Surrounded by outstanding dining and shopping establishments and the exciting entertainment and night life of Waikiki, you'll find that the Hawaiian Monarch is in a very convenient location.

Stroll to the Hawaii Convention Center and the huge Ala Moana Shopping Center. The Hawaiian Monarch is within easy walking distance to Waikiki Beach and Ala Moana Beach Park. Jump on a bus to Ala Moana Shopping Center, Aloha Tower Marketplace, and Chinatown. Visit the Army Museum at Fort DeRussy, then walk the beach walkway to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and its Rainbow Bazaar.

Spot on

The location sit in the perfect spot off the Waikiki strip. Located near a ton of food options and three convenience store. Scooter and jeep rentals at the building and a short walk to the beach. This room is ideal for a couple or single. Only downfall is the parking is a bit pricey however, there is street parking nearby.

Short business trip

Great. Everything I needed was in the room. Bed comfortable, View awesome. As I was working in Waikiki, I could walk everywhere. Felt safe, Ala Wai Canal became my Jogging path.

A satisfactory option to a hotel

The location was good - in a quieter part of Waikiki, but near a beach. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathroom was fine. There is a smart rental car service on the ground floor plus a coffee place, a pizza place, a tourism advisory desk, and a smart car rental booth. It makes for an interesting Waikiki experience. Our thanks to the owner for his informative communication, making it easy for us to arrive at a late hour, stay, and check out easily. Aloha nui loa!

I’ll miss this place

The view!!! OMG! The bed was very comfortable. Everything needed was there plus. Great appliances. Even an iron. Beach chairs and beach umbrella. Plenty towels. Roku TV is meh. But then who watches TV Owner promptly respond when contacted.

Very good option for a stay. About the same quality if not slightly below hotel quality but definetly for sure above motel quality for room and furniture. However what really puts this place above its pay grade for price that makes it a bargain is the amenities. Full kitchen with bits and pieces others have left behind or left by host. Fridge, freezer, toaster oven, utensils, even oil and salt and pepper for those who don’t want to eat out every meal. Also there’s raised pool on the fifth floor with two hot tubs and lots of luxury feeling seating with a barbeque patio that you’re free to use. Throw in its easy walking distance to major attractions and Waikiki beach and you’re set. The condo is located in a hotel, but you retrieve the keys from a lockbox, which I actually prefer as there’s far less hassle. Other guests/host left behind other kind items including goggles, a board, a beach chair, and beach umbrella, and some other stuff you could use as opposed to renting. Definelty reccomend it for anyone who’s on a budget but still wants some luxury feel.

This location is perfect.

We didn’t need a car to get to shopping, food or the beach. The apartment has only minimal cooking items but its clean and comfortable. The bathroom is newly remodeled and is very nice.

Room Was Great!! Building it was in wasn’t so Great but was not Terrible…

The Room was great it was nice and clean, cold ac and the owner check in on us to make sure everything was okay though out our stay. The building it was in on the other hand was okay and decently kept up with not but was not the greatest. It was about 15 minutes or less from the beach and most restaurants in Waikiki.

First time VRBO user, first time in Hawaii too.

Our experience renting this property was very pleasant. The communication with the property manager was easy and always quick responses. The unit is exactly as described on Vrbo and the pictures were very accurate. The bed was really comfortable and the AC worked well. I was also pleased to see that there were basic dishes and utensils even though the ad did not mention them. That came in handy, as we were able to do some grocery shopping once we arrived, to cut down on the expense of eating out the entire trip. I also thought it was awesome that the unit comes with 2 beach towels, in addition to the bathroom towels. I would recommend for future renters to also pack their own extra bath towels and beach towels. There are credit card operated laundry machines in the building, but that can get quite pricey rather quickly. There is a parking garage and car rental place on site, which is handy for some as well. There were a few different beach options within walking or biking distance. I think my only complaint about the whole stay is that on several different occasions, there was only 1 or 2 elevators working instead of all three. That’s not really anyone’s fault and definitely wouldn’t deter me from renting this unit again.

Waikiki getaway

Larry's Waikiki Studio Condo at the Monarch Hotel was just right. It is close to all the action, at a reasonable price. Larry messaged us a few times during our visit to make sure we were doing okay and if we needed anything. Parking is available but we choose Uber, walking or tour shuttle and we got along great.

We enjoyed our stay! Easy, on-site parking garage (discounted to $25/day for hotel guests), and perfectly located to be walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and the gorgeous Waikiki beach. Room was comfortable and worked perfectly for our stay in Oahu.

Our experience at the property was amazing!

Pros: Our stay at the property was amazing! The directions to access the property were accurate and easy to follow. The view of the canal from the room is stunning. The beach is also less than a 10 min walk away and you are also close to restaurants and entertainment in Waikiki. In the building, there is also a pool that was also a nice addition. The property was also very clean and the owner was easy to reach when we needed help. Cons: It is a small space but this was more than adequate for a couple Great value for the money!!!!

Great little studio

This studio is clean and well equipped. The view is great. The AC unit keeps it relatively cold, could have used a few more degrees cooler for personal preference but overall was satisfactory. The power to the entire building did go out one night but only for a few minutes. I would stay here again.

Small, but comfortable. It's overall a great location and value for short stays. Larry was quick to resolve any issues. We decided not to cook with the hot plate due to the size of the place. The bed was comfortable.
