Charming apartment just renovated ideal location to visit Genoa

Dear Laura, as already expressed to you, we are sorry your stay didn't meet your expectations, but we must clarify some details for future guests. All characteristics - including the historic "old world" nature, steep terrain, absence of A/C (normally not a problem except during this year's exceptional heatwave), sofa beds, and vintage decor - are clearly described and visible in our photos. The apartment is exactly as advertised. The notes left around are simply helpful courtesy guidance, not because amenities don't work. Over the years, many families with young children have stayed without any concerns about "knick-knacks". Guests who prefer different setups naturally choose other options; it was your choice to book. Regarding the funicular railway, its breakdown was a temporary public service issue beyond our control. Before arrival, you only asked about visiting Portofino, and we gave detailed options. No questions were asked about the seaside, we are right in the center of Genoa. You requested to modify your stay after check-in, not permitted by VRBO's policy. Yet, we agreed to refund 50% of our actual payout as you requested. It is unfair to claim we only refunded 1 night, confusing our generosity with VRBO’s own service fees and taxes, which only the platform can refund. We even spent time helping you try to deal with VRBO on this. We always strive to be helpful, even when guests do not review our detailed listing carefully before booking. We wish you the best.
