About this property

Big bright flat for 4-6 people with good links to around the city

Our ground floor flat has two bedrooms with double beds, and a living room with a sofa-bed, and two bathrooms (one with bath tub and one with a shower). It has high ceilings, good size rooms, is very quiet and has a back yard to relax in. My place is good for families (with kids) and groups of friends.

It's situated in ethnically diverse Islington, convenient with a number of shops and supermarkets within 5 mins (the closest is Tesco metro around the corner, open 7am - 11pm daily). Finsbury Park and Arsenal stadium within a 10-15 min walk from the flat.

We're in zone 2, a 10 min walk/5 min bus journey from Finsbury Park station (Piccadilly and Victoria lines), which is 2 stops from Kings Cross station (on Victoria line).

Parking outside flat is free from Saturday after 1.30pm until Monday 8am. Outside of these hours, you will need to park across the road in a resident parking bays, using a visitor parking voucher, which costs £14.25 for all day. Please request these in advance from us.

Excellent choice

Looked at bit sketchy when I first arrived. Part of the address number is obstructed by a pipe so from the street my driver had a difficult time locating it. I didn't realize the flat was behind an abandoned store front. BUT, the flat was clean, and comfortable and I felt totally secure there. I recommend utilizing the Holloway Rd underground station. Great place to stay. Try Yardsale pizza! Near Finsbury Park Station. And Waitrose grocery near Holloway Rd station.

Great location close to central london

Great value in London!!

We were 11 nights in this flat where we were welcome by the host. 2 complete bathroom with 2 teenagers is a must! The flat is well equipped and has a nice little backyard. The area is lively during the day and almost quiet at night. Walking distance from many services, the bus stop by and the Tube. Approx. 15 minutes walk from Emirates Stadium (Arsenal). Would definitely come back when in London!

Family holiday

We stayed here for a week with 13/12/10 year old kids. It was a solid 10 minute walk to the tube, which was great. Lots of shops around for convenience. Having two bathrooms and a patio/outdoor area is a luxury that we enjoyed. Communication was excellent. Thanks for sharing your home.

Good location, difficult owner

Our bad experience might be a one-off, but we feel compelled to report. The unsafe entry and Gen’s attitude were our main problems. As Gen’s mother let us in, a section of bricks broke away from the step up to the flat and my husband fell, scraping his leg so badly it bled. Gen and her family variously blamed my husband for hitting the step with his suitcase and for stepping on it while carrying two suitcases. Neither were the case. Gen’s sister said they would fix it but they didn’t, leaving our family with a dangerous broken step. We documented the step at the beginning and end of our stay, as well as my husband’s injury. We told VRBO but asked them not to alert Gen while we were there because her family seemed so unhappy with us and we felt uncomfortable. We received our deposit despite being blamed, but my husband is left with a 2x2 scar. Gen’s communication was slow. We assumed we could check in at 4pm, the advertised time. Two days before we arrived, she messaged, “the earliest for an evening check in will be 7.45pm.” We explained we had tix to an event that night and had a lot of luggage. The day before we arrived, Gen agreed to have her parents let us in earlier, but that 7:45 caused us worry. Gen’s sister came round to go over the rules and facilities that Mon. We asked to check out late because we had an evening flight that Sat. She said that it should be ok, so I messaged Gen on Tues to confirm. We hadn’t heard by Thurs, so my husband texted to make sure she’d seen my msg. She texted a late checkout wasn’t possible. My husband texted “Your sister said it would be ok for 4:30pm checkout on Mon and my wife messaged you through VRBO on Tues to confirm. By leaving it until 11pm on Thurs night to respond to us leaves us no time to make alternate arrangements.” She accused us of “insisting” on a late checkout, but all msgs show clearly that we were only trying to get confirmation after two days’ silence. Gen’s msgs through the site were friendlier (at the last minute she offered us an extra hour in the flat) but by that time we already spent £70 to book a left luggage spot so that didn’t help. It’s a pleasant space, conveniently located with shops nearby. We left an item in London and when I contacted Gen she helpfully responded that it wasn’t there. If Gen had shown a little concern for my husband’s injury, tried to fix the step or communicated promptly and politely, we could have written a positive review. Future guests—mind that step.

Très bon emplacement

Un appartement spacieux avec tout ce qu'il faut. Une corbeille de fruits et un bouquet à notre arrivée. Gen nous avait parfaitement renseigner concernant l'accès à l'appartement à partir de la gare dd St Pancras. Le seul petit bémol serait les bruits le soir du voisinage mais qui restent peu forts et pas trop tardifs.

Wurden mit Obstkorb, Blumen und Wein begrüßt und ganz viele Infos zu Wohnung und London bekommen. Wohnung hat alles was man benötigt und liegt berkehrsgünstig. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Very comfortable and pleasant

Had a great 4 day 5 nights stay at Ms. Gen house. Located so close to many shops one might think it will be noisy. But due to house design or quality construction not sure absolutely quiet inside for peaceful sleep or family time. Finsbury park metro short walking distance. Shops open till 11 pm so very convenient. Rooms were spacious with luggages and well stocked kitchen and other essentials. All equipment in working order ans overall five star stay at an affordable price. Will come back again for a stay again. Thank you Gen.

Great for family

Good sized flat for family to sleep 5. Large rooms with light. Apartment was clean as well as sheets, towels, etc. 10 minute walk to Finsbury Park underground with fast Victoria line permitting one to be at centre sights in 20-25 minutes (including walk to tube). Very responsive owner made whole process easy. Great family value for London.

This HUGE flat has it all!

This flat has it all. Fully stocked kitchen, nice patio, two huge bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a owner who is right on top of any of your questions or help. Very quiet apartment, no street noise in the apartment. Close to the Finsbury Park tube station which is on the Piccadilly Line and Victoria Line. Lots of places to eat nearby. A place called The Rabbit Hole was our favorite, on Holloway Road and Seven Sisters. We can't thank enough this great owner who helped us in so many ways to make our vacation so memorable.

La prestation était totalement conforme à l'annonce. Le gîte est bien situé, spacieux, tranquille, zen et agréable. Il est super bien équipé, pratique, bien prévu pour des vacances. Il est super bien desservi par deux lignes de métro fonctionnelles qui nous transportent en centre ville en 15 minutes. Idéal aussi pour les lignes de bus. Le propriétaire est efficace, discret et rapide dans ses réponses. Petites commerces pratiques à proximité ouvert tard le soir. Nous y retournerons. Très bonne adresse. The service was totally in line with the announcement. The cottage is well located, spacious, quiet, Zen and pleasant. It is super well equipped, practical, well planned for holidays. It is super well served by two functional metro lines that take us to the city center in 15 minutes. Ideal also for bus lines. The owner is efficient, discreet and quick in his answers. Small practical shops nearby open late at night. We will return. Very good address.

Miserable owner

Not really satisfied! The house is massive and all you need is there! Unfortunately We had issue with the hot water from the first day, the owner fix it in the day and give us a chance to have shower in another apartment, but obviously we loose all the morning because of that! After that the hot water was long waiting before to get it and it was not working in one of the bathroom still, but we just arrange having shower in one bathroom, but obviously I paid for 2 bathroom ! I’ve been mentioned to the owner and she was afraid apparently and she said that was going to give me a discount for the inconvenience! Really appreciate but this is never happen, she’s switch off a sim card and I tried to contact her in another number that she gave me but never reply back! Really miserable
