Stayed for 3 nights, great communication from Faye, easy to find, accommodation was just as described, was fully stocked with everything u could need, good Wi-fi, and of course meeting Lucky the deer was such a treat, fantastic location 10mins in car to Leek one way and Buxton the other. Would highly recommend if u want a nice quiet, relaxing place to stay, we will most certainly be returning in the future
Lovely cottage in the perfect location. Excellent country Pub only 10 minute walk. Alton towers only 25 minute drive and such pictoresque views from the doorstep. Cottage was warm and cosy with a log fire. Host was extra accomodating and very welcoming. Property was exactly what we wanted with a comfy bed and everything you would need. Would 100% stay again! :)

Small annexe cottage with log-burning fire
The owner, Faye, was very helpful but I had to ask for kitchen towels. Although advertised as small, I was nevertheless disappointed with the tiny bathroom in particular where the basin was so small you could barely get your head over it to wash, and all mirrors are rather low. Lack of space in the bedroom meant that the double bed was situated against the wall, very inconvenient if two people are sharing. In the lounge, if you use the log-burning fire it needs regular attention; all my clothes smelt of smoke. There is no storage space in the kitchen if you are bringing any food and, if you have dogs, nowhere to walk them except up and down the road. On the plus side the lounge is a good size and the bed very comfortable. The owner left some fresh eggs, milk, chocolates and some treats for my dogs, which were much appreciated.

Wonderful hidden gem!
We had a 2 night stay here in October 2018, making the most of a spell of good weather to do some walking in the area. The cottage was absolutely gorgeous, and we're already looking forward to booking another stay.
Faye was a lovely host - and welcomed us with a roaring cosy wood burner, milk, fresh eggs from her chickens and biscuits!
The cottage isn't massive (the bathroom especially is tiny) but it was perfect for a couple, and we really loved it. Everything we needed/wanted from our stay was included - including good wifi, off road parking, comfy bed, views over the hills and a quiet rural location.
The absolute and unexpected highlight for me, was meeting Faye's friendly animals - including the cutest rescued deer 'Lucky'. We were sad to leave and can't wait to return!
