Ladeira da Nora is a unique property set in a glorious 7 acre private estate with unbroken views of the Alvor river estuary and the Monchique hills in the background.

The villa has 6 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and can sleep up to 11 people. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining room and a living room with a terrace on either side - one benefiting from the beautiful views of the river estuary - ideal to enjoy relaxed sunset drinks and the other with a large teak table and chairs - perfect for breakfast in the morning sun and dinners in the evening. There is wireless internet access throughout.

The large swimming pool is in a secluded area surrounded by lawns, a rosary and a canopy of trees. There are comfortable sunbeds and a shaded lounge area with a BBQ for long and relaxed lunches by the pool.

The property is ideal for a large family, several smaller families or groups of friends to share. It has easy access to the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve and the lively fishing village of Alvor within minute


Out & About: : Ladeira da Nora is only 2 km from the busy fishing village of Alvor with its fun restaurants and bars. Praia da Rocha, the well known resort with beaches, hotels, casino and bars/restaurants is only 6 km away. The historic town of Lagos is 15 minutes drive and offers good restaurants and great nightlife.

There are many golf courses, beaches, scuba diving, surfing, jet skiing, windsurfing & kitesurfing, riding, fishing, cycling, sailing, to mention but a few and when the kids have tried of all these there are still water parks, jeep safaris and Zoo marine world. For those seeking other challenges, skydiving is an active sport at Alvor aerodrome at certain times of the year. Additionally, there is the racing track 15 minutes away in Mexilhoeira that hosts Formula 1 Motor Racing, Superblke and Go Karting.

Only 20 km away is the mountain of Monchique with its Spa and thermal water, where you can enjoy a fantastic view in a cooler mountain climate while enjoying the famous piri-piri grilled chicken or regional almond cake.

On hand there are a number of companies providing catering and entertainment services for special days such as weddings and anniversaries.

Amazing property, better than represented in the pictures. Jim and his team were fabulous hosts who made us feel very welcome. The property itself is a marvel, the pool was large with all the toys you could want. Alvor was a 4 euro bolt taxi away. Rooms large and well furnished. Can't say enough good things about our stay. Will try to come back.

Extended Family Holiday

The property is in a great location with plenty of space for everyone to be together or if they want some space to take themselves away. We used the pool every day and made use of the many places to sit and eat around the villa depending on the time of day and weather. Would certainly recommend stopping here.

We had such a lovely week staying at this huge Villa as a group of 5 adults and 2 children. The pool is gorgeous and is equipped with everything you could want including inflatables, deck chairs and buckets and spades! There are so many lovely spots to sit around the villa to enjoy breakfast & dinner. It was clean and lots of fresh towels supplied. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful spacious villa with a fantastic pool area at a perfect temperature. The hosts were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Location is good, though the main road can be busy - we discovered a quieter, slightly longer alternative route (first left towards Alvor) which we'd recommend. Worth noting that the hosts are frequently present, maintaining the grounds and using the garage. During our stay, there was a heatwave with temperatures in the high 30s, hitting 40C, and the lack of air conditioning was challenging. The host told us there was no eating/drinking in the main house on the first day, which we thought was a bit strange (but we still did in the kitchen and dining room). Tip: Ask for detailed instructions on operating the main gate fob to avoid confusion with arrivals/deliveries. Overall, a lovely property with some minor considerations to keep in mind.

The perfect villa!

We absolutely fell in love with this beautiful villa! We were a group of 9 celebrating my 50th birthday and it was perfect. Very communal whilst having your own space if you needed it. Extremely comfortable beds, bedding, seating and sun loungers. There are sunny and shady areas throughout the day with lots of seating for everyone. The beautiful kitchen very well equipped with everything you could need and more. You can really tell it was architect designed as the flow throughout is so well considered. The suite bedroom with the private balcony terrace, dressing area and stunning bathroom is next level. Superb pool and great touch with the kegs of beer. Jim was always on hand for any local information and let us know of a better walk into town which meant you didn’t need to go on main road. (About a 15 min walk) He genuinely cared that we had a fantastic time. This is a house that has some great stories to tell I’m sure! Thank you for making our stay perfect.

Superbe Villa, très grande, rien ne manque dans la cuisine pour préparer à manger, dehors barbecue, grande table à l'abri, grandes pièces intérieures, table salle à manger XL, le linge de toilette et les draps changés deux fois par semaine, l'extérieur avec la piscine est magnifique, grand parking, l'hôte est très sympathique et serviable, honnêtement je conseille cette location pour famille nombreuse, Alvor n'est pas loin du gîte, ce petit village de pêcheurs vaut le détour, nous avons passé un très agréable séjour.

À fuir absolument !

A fuir absolument. Nous étions 10 copines et nous avons loué une maison au Portugal pour l’Afronation. Nous avons eu à faire au harcèlement du propriétaire qui venait chaque jour dans la maison avec un comportement déplacé. Une fois rentrées, Abritel nous annonce qu’ils vont garder notre caution alors qu’il s’agissait d’une maison vétuste et que rien n avait été abîmé. Nous avons envoyé des vidéo et photos de la maison pour appuyer notre réclamation mais rien n’y a fait.

Beautiful Villa

The Villa was the heart of our stay in beautiful Alvor. From the moment we got there Jim and Nene were so helpful and kind. The Villa is big and spacious even for the large group we were. The pool is amazing and we had many fabulous days playing and lounging around the pool. It was a great hit with the kids especially the diving board. Nearly each bedroom has its own bathroom which was great as we could stay longer by the pool and didn’t have to queue to wait to use one. The master bedroom is quite something. The kids all ask to have their showers there as the bathroom is spectacular. You really have all you need at the Villa to make your stay special. I would also definitely recommend getting the keg of beer. As a family we can’t wait to return.

The perfect holiday

We were a family of 10. The house was spacious, everybody had their own little corners to have breakfast or lone time to then meet again on the big terrace table. The rooms all had their own bathrooms. The pool is big and lovely. There is a restaurant very close by to take away or to eat frango piri-piri and other good food. It is a lovely place and Jim, the owner, was kind and helpful at all times. Very recommended.

Great holiday

The house was great and even better than shown on the pictures. It was spacious and wel equipt. The big pool and BBQ area where our favorite place. There are also various terraces so you can always enjoy the sun and views. The house is near Alvor centre with supermarkets close by. Jim was a great host. Thanks for a great holiday!
