Praia da Rocha, the well known resort with beaches, hotels, casino and bars/restaurants is only 6 km away. The historic town of Lagos is 15 minutes drive and offers good restaurants and great nightlife.

There are many golf courses, beaches, scuba diving, surfing, jet skiing, windsurfing & kite surfing, riding, fishing, cycling, sailing, to mention but a few and when the kids have tried of all these there are still water parks, jeep safaris and Zoo marine world. For those seeking other challenges, skydiving is an active sport at Alvor aerodrome at certain times of the year. Additionally, there is the racing track 15 minutes away in Mexilhoeira that hosts Formula 1 Motor Racing, Super bike and Go Karting.
