About this property

Daisy Cottage (Northrepps), Northrepps, Norfolk

Daisy Cottage is a pretty mid terraced traditional cottage in the attractive village of Northrepps. Located a stone's throw from the welcoming village pub, this hideaway is also a five minute drive from the beautiful sandy beach at Overstrand, and a ten minute drive from the traditional Victorian seaside resort of Cromer. This holiday will call for surfing, paddling, and sandcastle building!

Daisy Cottage has been curated to a high standard, and the owner really has gone the extra mile to provide lots of little extras to make this a real home-from-home. In the sitting room, the cosy multi-fuel burning stove adds extra warmth and ambient light during the cooler months. The exceptionally well-equipped modern kitchen boasts a plethora of gadgets, including a popcorn maker for film nights! Children are well catered for with plenty of games and toys having been provided. Upstairs on the first floor, the comfortable master bedroom hosts a super-king size bed and wall fixed television for lazy holiday mornings. Twin beds are offered in bedroom two. These rooms are served by a good-sized family bathroom featuring bath with shower over.

Outside to the rear of Daisy Cottage there is a small sheltered patio garden, with a pretty, quintessential cottage garden to front that offers table and chairs - perfect for warm summer evenings.

A warm welcome awaits at the traditional village pub, The Foundary Arms, just a short walk from the door step.

Great for a couple and 1 or 2 children

Small but spacious cottage. Extremely well equipped. The toys and games were very much appreciated by our 3 year old. Beaches are in easy reach by car or 15 minute walk and the pub at the bottom of the lane is a bonus

Daisy Cottage, Northrepps

We found Daisy Cottage very comfortable and overall we really enjoyed our stay. I do have one complaint though, the washing machine left grey/black smudges and black bits on the washing, as far as I could tell it was coming from the considerable amount of mound on the inside of the door seal, once as much as possible had been cleaned off it improved the next wash. As this mould will build up again it needs to be dealt with ASAP. Not so important but the bedroom T.V. had very poor reception, one channel only.

Thank you for your review of Daisy Cottage. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay overall, it's certainly a fantastic area with plenty to explore. Thank you for bringing the condition of the washing machine to our attention, your comments have been passed onto the homeowner so that they can be addressed as required. We are sorry to hear that the bedroom television seemed to have poor signal, we have made the owners aware of this so that should the problem persist, steps can be taken to investigate and resolve the issue. We do hope to be able to welcome you back to Norfolk again soon. Best wishes, The Norfolk Hideaways Team.

A week in July

A great location for a week long break for 2. Cottage does not quite look the same as the pictures. Sofa had no cushions and rug was dark brown. We loved the bed for its size and comfort. Otherwise the overall impression is of a well-loved, if a little tired, family home.

6/10 Okay

Disappointing. Would not return.

Off to a bad start as we had been given the wrong key code for the property. Telephone call to Norfolk Hideways produced plenty of advice about lining up the numbers ( not relevant here( and banging the box. Eventully a call was made to the owner and the correct code obtained. No parking space available on arrival ( one of the essential criteria when booking) and space did not become available until Sunday evening. Parking at weekends difficult as the area around the cottages is used by pub staff . Cottage Ok - clean and tidy. But lounge very dark and many appliances did not work - main oven had clearly been out of action for a long time; no outside drying facility which worked; radio did not function. No TV remote that we could find. Weather was excellent but outside space very poor. Poor quality seating both front and back and rear seating area very scruffy. A disappointment. We had expected better.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Daisy Cottage. I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your stay. As Norfolk Hideaways does not manage this property I have contacted the owner of the property to pass on your feedback, for which they are very grateful. It is unfortunate that neither Norfolk Hideaways nor the owner of the property were contacted by yourselves during your stay. Reporting these issues at the time would have given us the chance to rectify them for you. We would have sent a representative back out to the property to address the issues which you have highlighted. The parking area for the house is in fact a private drive and no other vehicles may park here. The owner of the property is going to make another sign for the car park to remind anyone thinking of using the space that they do not have permission. Apparently the area right outside the property can be used for guests if they do find the car parking space full. The pup has quite a large car park and the staff use that so it is unclear what has happened in this case. The housekeeper for the property has been to check the pull out clothes line in the garden and found it to be working. Perhaps there is a trick to it. Again, had we been aware of your problem we could have helped you to sort it out. There are also two clothes horses in the property which can be used in the garden as extra drying space. Whilst at the property the housekeeper checked the main oven and also found that to be functioning as it should and the TV remote in the lounge. Due to the rural position of the cottage the radio signal can be a little unpredictable. Despite your disappointment I do hope that you were able to make the most of the amazing situation in which the property is located. It really is such a beautiful setting in the midst of lovely countryside and a short drive or cycle to the beach. The pub is also close by should you wish to walk to it. Thank you once again for your review. Best wishes.. The Hideaways Team.
