Welcome to South Side, a charming and characterful holiday cottage perfectly positioned in the heart of West Runton, one of North Norfolk's most loved coastal villages. Set along a peaceful lane that leads directly to the beach, this inviting two‑bedroom retreat offers the ideal blend of comfort, convenience, and coastal charm. Whether you're planning long walks along the Norfolk Coast Path, days spent exploring rock pools, or simply a quiet escape by the sea, South Side provides a wonderfully relaxing base for your holiday. With its enclosed garden, cosy interiors, and unbeatable location just moments from local shops, cafés, and the friendly Village Inn pub, this cottage is a favourite for couples and small groups looking to enjoy the very best of the North Norfolk coastline. South Side welcomes one small, well‑behaved dog, making it a great choice for guests who love to bring their four‑legged companion along. With coastal paths, woodland trails, and dog‑friendly beaches nearby, it's a wonderful place for dogs to enjoy too.
Ground floor: Front door leading into hallway with staircase and door to Kitchen: with table and 4 chairs, electric cooker and hob, washing machine, microwave, toaster and fridge/freezer, door to Lounge: TV , wood burner and patio doors leading to the garden.
First floor: 2 double bedrooms. Family bathroom: walk-in shower, wash basin and WC.
Please note: WiFi. 1 well-behaved small dog considered at £30.00 per week (please ask before booking). Allocated parking for 1 car. Children permitted over the age of 16 years only. Small garden pond. Please Note: This property has an additional £20.00 per week applied to it to cover the rising utility charges.Please Note: Location: beach 0.4 miles, pubs and shops 450 ft. £50.00 refundable security deposit required.Please note that the information on this page is intended as a guide only. A lovely clean homely cottage with nearly everything we required . Perfect position for walking to the beach and a good base for visiting further afield attractions. Great pub and Thai take away.

Our stay at hillside cottage

A Lovely Cottage!

Glad to make a return visit to South Side. This is such a comfortable holiday home. The addition of the wifi and upgrade of the bathroom were both welcome. The weather was with us and we were able to enjoy the beautiful and peaceful garden. Our dog enjoyed himself also. The cottage is conveniently places to the Team Rooms, Village Inn Pub, Village store and Thai takeaway, as well as the other local amenities and beaches. Can not wait to return again.

Lovely Cottage

Southside is a lovely cottage, better equipped than you will need, really clean and tidy and very comfortable. It is well situated for travel all around North Norfolk and beyond, buses run regularly from nearby and there is a station in the village too. The view of the sea greeted me every morning and it was only a short walk away. We had a great time. Thank you.

What a lovely cottage, bigger than it looks in the pictures. Everything you need is there. The bottle of wine and voucher for the local shop was a bonus. It was also nice to feel welcomed by the owner in her friendly information pack. The garden is stunning. The location is great, the village being very attractive and well served by shops and eateries. Everyone was so friendly.

A peaceful time at Christmas

Very well presented with a lovely welcome pack on arrival and a Christmas tree! Very much appreciated. The garden had some colour too, welcome at this time of year Very cosy and the wood burner worked fine. Kitchen was ok except we couldn't find the grill handle or any large serving spoons.

Perfect

We have stayed at South Side twice and for a retired couple, one of whom is disabled, it's perfect. Handy shop over the road, Village Inn that does lovely meals, opposite and bed and breakfast near that does amazing tea and scones and more and only short walk to beach. Cottage is lovely and garden adorable. Only thing missing is downstairs toilet but that's only for our situation. Hope we can go again.

We love Southside West Runton

This was our 2nd time staying at Southside in West Runton. We love this house - the garden is beautiful for a start. Fully equipped comfortable and all you would need. No internet which does us a favour really & forces us to relax and enjoy the holiday. Great location - a short hop to the Village Inn which has been transformed with new owners. We were in there almost every night! Great to have parking outside the house. Short stroll down the beach road to the seaside. What more could you want?

An enjoyable week, but we would say that quite a lot of road noise, very late, with mainly loud bikes racing around and this is a feature that has been allowed to worsen over the last 5 years.

Beautiful cottage just a short walk to the sea. Very clean and comfortable. Everything required for a relaxing holiday. Comfy beds and pretty garden. In a great position for travelling around. Owner very nice and even provided a very good welcoming gift. Excellent. Highly recommend.

Nice location, but hazardous exit to main road, lovely rear garden, didn’t enjoy pet smells on one settee. Nice touch by owner to encourage local shopping by providing £15 voucher for village shop.. Lack of issue with most visitors and ourselves..
