A beautiful, traditional Welsh cottage tucked away in a pretty woodland setting. Peace and seclusion await you in this enchanted hideaway. A holiday cottage which has it all; set within 2.5 acres of fenced private woods and lawned area, our guests can enjoy the chance to be quiet or noisy, relaxed or active! Close by is the friendly market town of Newcastle Emlyn with its pubs, cafes, supermarkets, gift/antique shops, ATM and ancient castle ruin perched above the meandering River Teifi.
The cottage makes a great getaway for couples, friends and families alike; It's a holiday haven for children, offering a safe place where they can explore, play and enjoy the open spaces and fresh air.
If you want to get out and about, there's plenty to do and see. The cottage is 9 miles from the coast. There, you'll find picturesque seaside villages, stunning sandy beaches and breathtaking coastal walks. In the nearby countryside, there are pretty villages and market towns with lots of cosy pubs, many of which serve food. There are lots of activities for kids and adults alike; ancient castles and monuments, pottery painting, fishing (river and sea), kayaking, dolphin and seal watching trips, crabbing, rambling, nature trails, antique centres, craft markets, mountain biking, pony trekking.....the list goes on and on!
Why not visit the local award winning cheese factory (Caws Cenarth) or the nearby Da Mhile distillery which produced the world's first organic whisky. Swim in the sea or relax by a pool at the Cliff Hotel and Spa near Cardigan. Whatever type of holiday you like, Ffynnon Fran is a perfect base for exploring South West Wales. At the end of the day, pleasantly tired from all that fresh air, return home to the peace and tranquillity of Ffynnon Fran Cottage where you can unwind by the fire (inside or out), watch the wildlife or relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the stunning views of the Welsh countryside and the magical Preseli Hills.

Accommodation
The original part of the cottage was built c.1775 and many of the original features remain, including a large inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove. There are 2 communal spaces. A snug upstairs (with plenty of books and games) and a main lounge with wood burning fire and a large lounge/TV room)
The cottage sleeps 6 with 3 bedrooms. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor (double beds in each) and 1 bedrooms upstair (1 double bed). There is also a single day bed in the upstairs snug (ideal if not all guests want to share a double bed) A cot and high chair can be provided on request.
There is a modern kitchen/diner with a double electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave and breakfast bar, there is also an extendable table which seats 6. There is a utility room next to the kitchen/diner with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, double butler sink, coffee machine, kettle and toaster.
On entering the cottage, to the left, there is another utility area with a washing machine/dryer, sink and additional storage for food. There is also a bar area with a separate fridge and freezer. An ironing board and iron is provided as well as a hairdryer. Towels, beach towels, tea towels and bed linen are also provided.
There is a modern family bathroom (with toilet, sink, luxury bath and separate electric shower) and an additional toilet and shower room on the ground floor with a toilet and sink.
Free WiFi is available. There is a 55 inch smart TV in the main lounge. There is also a DVD player with many DVD titles to choose from.
Outdoors
There is a large gravelled parking area for 6+ cars. The cottage is 275 metres from a quiet country road, accessible via a level track. There is a large metal farm gate that leads you into the parking area. Please keep closed.
Next to the cottage is a outside dining area and wooden picnic benches. There is another outside dining area and fire pit close by where you can watch the sun set over the Preseli Hills or enjoy evening drinks while taking in the stunning, star filled night sky. As there is limited light pollution, a full display of stars (and some planets) can be viewed on a clear night. Guests can also use the Kota as an indoor BBQ or as a separate communal area.
There is also a fire cage on the far side of the house.
Dog Policy
Well behaved dogs (maximum 2) under supervision are most welcome, free of charge. The perimeterr is secure, in that there is traditional farm fencing. However larger dogs may be able to jump over. Please do not leave your pets alone in the cottage and please bring your own dog bed, blankets and dog towel.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage or the Kota.
