THIS IS A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE. IT IS ONE OF 180 GRINDING WINDMILLS OF THE CYCLADIC ISLANDS. IT IS A HISTORICAL MONUMENT (AS DECLARED BY THE GREEK MINISTRY OF CULTURE). ORIGINALLY BUILT IN 1896, IT HAS BEEN BEAUTIFULLY CONVERTED INTO A RESIDENCE WHILE PRESERVING ITS MAIN FEATURES. THE WALLS ARE MADE OF STONE. THE STONE STAIRCASE HAS BEEN KEPT INTACT. THE WOODEN ROOF, THE WHEEL OF THE MILL AND ITS MECHANISM WERE RECONSTRUCTED IN EXACTLY THE SAME WAY BY LOCAL CRAFTSMEN. THE SMALLER HOUSE, WHICH WAS USED BY THE MILLER, IS BUILT IN THE EXACT SAME POSITION AS THE ORIGINAL ONE.
