Welcome to Villa Somnia, a brand new, beautifully designed villa, which can satisfy all contemporary needs of the modern traveller who is seeking a private summer vacation, away from the busy town life. Villa Somnia is located in the very heart of the Cretan country side, in a picturesque rural area, surrounded by trees. During your stay you shouldn’t let the opportunity to walk, hike or jog around the area go unexploited.The song birds and cicadas will keep you company, day and night and your body and mind will benefit from the fresh, revitalising country side air! For the more adventurous ones, we can help you arrange a hiking trip in paths and caves with an expert guide! Moreover, the sandy beach of Frangokastello, famous for its Venetian castle, is a short drive away and worth a visit!

Exterior
The 350m2 outdoor terrace of Villa Somnia is the epitome of living close to nature! The pool terrace is complemented by the private swimming pool (7X3m and 1,60m deep) and it boasts magnificent views of the surrounding area…small hills and olive trees! Enjoy the wild beauty of the original Cretan landscape around you, let the hot summer sun caress your body while sunbathing, or read the books you have been saving for your holiday, laying relaxed on your sun bed, under the shadow of the trees! An outdoor shower is also available for your outmost comfort.

Additionally, right next to Somnia Villa, another Villa is located, each of them with its own private pool and separate facilities.

Furthermore, one of the nicest things you will experience staying at Villa Somnia is being able to see the beauty that the night sky holds. Away from the town lights, the stars shine with a luminosity that is unparalleled. Prepare your home made meal at the BBQ facilities available by the pool and try al fresco dining with your family or friends, at the outdoor dining area provided while enjoying the cool summer breeze and the sweet song of the cicadas!

Interior
Villa Somnia covers 120m2 and it’s a ground floor Villa, ideal for families with small children, which can comfortably accommodate 7 guests in its 3 bedrooms. The open plan living room area features a cosy sitting area, complemented by the open fireplace, as well as a dining table for the whole family! The room is bright and airy thanks to big windows and large glass doors, which also offer direct access to the pool terrace. Next to the living room, the fully equipped kitchen invites you to be creative, using the local produce for your recipes, as it provides all essentials for a self catered holiday! Moving in, the master bedroom of Villa Somnia features a comfortable double bed (1,60X2,00) and an en-suite bathroom with a shower cabin. The remaining two bedrooms offer views to the trees on the outside and provide two single beds each (0,90X2,00), which can also be joined together to form a large double bed if needed. Moreover, an additional, family bathroom boasting a shower cabin is also at the guests’ disposal.

Location Overview.
Villa Somnia is located in the very heart of the Cretan country side, near a beautiful rural village! The traditional village of Asi Gonia, is a beautiful village where shopping facilities for everyday's necessities can be found , providing butcher, bakery, grocery shop, mini market and tavern. A beautiful sandy beach can be also found at a distance of 30 minutes, Episkopi beach, with local bars & restaurants, equipped with sun beds and parasols, ready to welcome you in its clear blue water! However, there are many beautiful beaches all over the island catering all needs - busy, secluded, whatever you are looking for, you won't have far to go.

Last but not least, you should absolutely visit Argiroupoli, which is conveniently located at a 20 minutes distance away from the villa. It is a traditional village with a long heritage of history! You can happily spend a whole day in Argyroupolis. You can easily do ecological shopping, dine on wonderfully fresh trout and, above all, experience at first-hand how many a Cretan village today was once a town of much greater significance in antiquity and the Middle Ages.

Don’t miss the chance to admire the Agia Paraskevi church, the sarcophagus and the ancient columns! The second main sight in the historic village centre are the remains of a colourful Roman floor mosaic. After this tour you might be feeling hungry. Drive towards the north coast and after a few minutes you will arrive at several tavernas in a heavily forested section of valley. Ten gushing springs originate here, providing some of the drinking water for the city of Rethymno. Several water mills used to be situated here. Welcome to Crete!
