This house was exactly what we needed for our goup. Sarah did a great job preparing the beds in advance for all of us and towels and linens were well stocked. We loved using the canoes and hanging out on the dock.
Had a nice stay at this house house was clean and had all you needed having the boat on premises was a big plus the boat was a nice spot to hang out on and just soak in the scenery definitely would recommend
The house was very comfortable and homey. It was easy for our family of 6 adults, and 4 kids to feel at home, relax, and enjoy hanging out. Communication with host was great. The house had everything we needed and we really enjoyed the water, lounging in the pontoon boat and swimming/boating/paddle boarding off the dock. We had a blast!

Well-appointed family friendly house in a beautiful setting
We loved our winter stay at this house, and we'd like to return during the warmer months to take advantage of what looks to be great canoeing and kayaking. A fire was already laid in the massive stone fireplace when we arrived. We enjoyed the family's book, music and art collections but also made great use of the ping pong table. The house layout accommodates a large group efficiently, without seeming oversized for a smaller one.

Maine 2019
19 people spent the weekend, 7 who were children and we all have a great time! Even though it was still chilly they used the canoes and kayaks and had a great time. Many laughs were had while games were played around the large kitchen table!
We had plenty of space for our group of 13. Cabin had everything we needed for cooking, including a pot big enough for lobsters. The property is beautiful. We spent a lot of time on the dock watching the water and fishing.
Neighbors were super friendly and helpful and made the stay even more enjoyable.
Owners were easy to get a hold of and responsive. The house has a nice lived in feel and you can tell it is cared for, unlike others places we've stayed that felt cold and impersonal.
Rented the pontoon boat for a day, while the weather wasnt great it was nice to get out on the lake and the boat ran great.
My friends and I stayed here for a long 4th of July weekend. We were a group of 5 couples and one child. The house was large enough to not feel cramped with 10 adults, ample seating and comfortable sleeping arrangements. The swimming area was great. Although rocky, the dock and boat provided plenty of room for lounging in the sun out of the water. Sarah and William were great at communicating and very helpful answering questions before our arrival.
Wonderful experience in a charming, warm and well equipped home. Owners responsive and generous. Fabulous location, with incredible amenities and friendly neighbors. We will definitely return!
Sarah was a wonderful host and made things easy with great communication. Friendly neighbors said hi on our way in and proclaimed that we found the best swimming spot on the whole lake—deep water but protected from the wind—and we quickly found out they were right. The house was cozy with plenty of bedrooms. Rent the boat for a day at least!
We felt like we were being welcomed into someone’s beautiful home. Music books lovely artwork from all over the world, everything you could possibly need in a kitchen, toys, ping pong room, large dining table on deck. Outside a lovely lake, canoes & kayaks and a pontoon boat at dock providing the most comfortable way to hang out on the lake. We all loved being there from oldest to youngest. Altogether a lovely 70th birthday celebration for a family member.
Property is on a private/low traffic road and feels like you are vacationing in a home and not an impersonal rental. Super well stocked to accommodate a large group. We had perfect weather for early May and were able to enjoy the canoes and kayaks and take brisk swims off the dock. Property owner very responsive. Would recommend this rental highly.
Very spacious home with plenty of sleeping spaces. Great views from water access. The house was stocked with all one would need. Great neighbors that overflow parking for our large group.
Overall we had a very good stay. The location and proximity to the lake is excellent
The house could be a little cleaner as it did not meet our standards of cleanliness
No reflection on owner maybe the cleaning company could be held a little more accountable
If you spent the same on a hotel room your cleanliness standards would be much higher. Understandly the location is a factor
We had a great time with our boat, the dock and the lake. Everybody had plenty of space for their rooming situations We appreciated all the artwork in the home, however in the kitchen, it took lots of shelf space that could of been used for our supplies. We ended up having stuff out on the table and in the hallway and on the counter which made things feel cluttered and inefficient during mealtimes. Some in our group were disappointed with arrival cleanliness, but overall it was ok. The house is completely shaded from the sun on the lake side, so you can't really enjoy the lake from the house. The dock was a little funky because it completely floated yet was attached to the fixed dock ramp. It was hinged down the middle, which was good for kids jumping and playing. However, if some wanted to sit in a chair and enjoy you had to "rebalance" the chair setup when anybody new came to the dock so you didn't fall in. It served our purpose of mooring and accessing our boat. Overall a good time was had by all.

Wonderful stay at Lakefront house
We enjoyed our stay in your beautiful waterfront home. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us. The living area was very cozy with its beautiful stone fireplace and perfect for sharing meals. There is plenty of room for a few families. The kids loved the lower level dorm room. The owners were always easy to reach if you had question, replying quickly to massages.
We left with many wonderful memories and would not hesitate to return in the future. Lake Sabago is gorgeous!

About the host
Hosted by Sarah
This house is owned by William and Ursula Slavick who reside in Portland, Maine. Bill is a retired American Literature Professor and Ursula is a retired high school teacher of German. The house was finished in 2000 and is used for family get togethers for much of the summer.
Why they chose this property
Our family has enjoyed swimming in the silky Sebago Lake waters as well as enjoying a large house for congregating for family time.
What makes this property unique
Family members contributed to building this house. Art work from several family members hang on the walls. Rocks from Brazil, where one family member lives, are part of the stone fireplace.
