Sunset Cabin, watch the sunset over the north Devon horizon in this cosy cabin!
Forget a room with a view, how about a cabin with a view! After a long day exploring north Devon this is the perfect place to unwind, with a glass of something nice, while watching the spectacular sunset. Sunset Cabin has the most wonderful sunset views that will take your breath away. Followed by a clear night with beautiful starry skies, this truly is a special place. This self catering cabin has 3 bedrooms that comfortably sleeps up to 4 adults (in king/double beds) and 2 children (in bunk beds).
This is a place to escape it all in a peaceful and rural location within 22 acres of north Devon countryside, woodland, and lying near to an iron-age hillfort and a lake. The location is perfect for a holiday in north Devon with plenty to explore, such as the wonderful beaches and Exmoor National Park.
The outdoors space is what is truly special about Sunset Cabin. There is a large decking area, with comfortable outside lounge furniture as well as outside dining table and chairs and a picnic bench in the garden. All of which have stunning views of the north Devon country side, with glimpses of the sea, wonderful sunsets and amazing starry skies. The garden itself is large and enclosed, and there is a woodland and meadow walk straight from the garden onto private land which includes a lake and the iron-age hillfort.
The cabin sleeps up to 4 adults and 2 children. There is a king en-suite bedroom, a double bedroom, and a small bunk bed room which due to the size is really only suitable for children or 1 petite adult - the beds are small singles (2'6" by 6'3"). Despite having 3 bedrooms this cabin is popular and cosy enough as a romantic getaway for a couple!
The kitchen is fully stocked with all that you'd expect including a kettle, toaster, microwave, oven. The living room is comfortable and cosy ... especially when the log burner is lit! There is a utility room with dishwasher and washing machine.
The cabin is in a rural location, about a 5 minute drive from the village of Bratton Fleming. There are a number of great pubs/restaurants (many of them dog friendly) that we can recommend which are all within a 10 - 30 minute drive away.
We are very dog friendly and doggies are welcome to stay. There is an enclosed garden although you are welcome to explore the 22 acres of countryside at your leisure. Please note that dogs must be kept off all furniture, muddy paws must be cleaned before entering the cabin, and all dog poo must be picked up from the garden and paths. There is an additional charge for more than 2 dogs.
There is plenty to see and do in north Devon during your visit. Why not try your hand at surfing at the nearby beaches such as Croyde, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe, or hire a bicycle and ride the famous Tarka Trail, or go hiking in Exmoor, or walk the spectacular South West Coast Path? Other attractions to visit include Arlington Court and Castle Hill Gardens that are also very close if you like to explore National Trust properties, or for something different you could visit Quince Honey Farm in nearby South Molton. There’s plenty for kids too, such as the Exmoor Zoological Park, Milky Way Adventure Park and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park.
The cabin is unfortunately not disability or wheelchair friendly.
There is parking for up to 3 cars.
Please note the following: * No additional guests and no parties are allowed * The noise level must be kept to a minimum after 10pm to be respectful of us, our neighbours and other holiday properties (we live just up the lane so will know!) * The property must be left in a reasonable clean and tidy condition on check-out
Failure to do this may mean additional payments from the security deposit will be taken.

Sunset Cabin was one of the best we've stayed in so far. Everything you need, very quiet, secluded and peaceful. Will definitely be booking to stay here again. Really didn't want to leave. Thankyou Matt & Pru for a wonderful stay.
Lovely property, really helpful host and lots of things in the kitchen (especially) you just don't usually get in holiday accommodation. Really recommend
Lovely cosy cabin with beautiful sunset views. Clean and comfortable, everything you need for a great stay. Great walks nearby. The cabin is great if you have a dog due to enclosed garden area.
Fabulous property in a beautiful tranquil location but with all mod cons you could possibly need for a short or long stay. Great base for exploring. Lovely host who was very responsive to any queries by phone - would love to go back for a much longer break!
Really nice place to stay, beautiful grounds, our dogs came with us they loved it. We had privacy but knowing help was there if we needed it, beautiful part of Devon, will go again if youll have us.
We all had an amazing time and the weather was fantastic we couldn’t of wished for a better week great place and wonderful to have garden for dogs and child to run around will definitely be going back great hosts
This was me and my husbands second time staying at Sunset Cabin and again we were not disappointed. Such a lovely spot, beautiful clean cabin with plenty of things to do nearby. We particularly like visiting nearby Lynton and Lynmouth. Our dog loves staying here too! It is ideal with the enclosed garden surrounding the cabin. Matt and Pu
Great cabin, in a lovely quiet wooded spot perched on a hill, away from hustle & bustle but only 15/20 mins from Barnstaple. Nicely secluded with fenced garden so great for dog & surrounded by trees. Lodge was lovely & cosy, well appointed with good size rooms, comfy beds, although smaller bedroom with bunkbed is really only for children. Heating was great, when needed, plenty of games, good tv & Wi-Fi, kids highly delighted that Netflix came on at switch on! We only stayed for 2 nights in late Oct, would have happily stayed for more.
Had the truest of relaxing weekends at this lovely cabin and location!
Matt and Pru were excellent at communicating details after the booking and throughout. Making it a very easy journey, even when we arrived in the dark :)
The location is amazing with lots to do around the area, and of course our excellent hosts provided many suggestions.
Sunset Cabin itself is lovely inside and out and has everything you would want and ever need. We found it very clean, well maintained and above all so very comfortable.
Again couldn’t ask for a better experience with the hosts, loved the location and property and will be looking to book again when we can.
Thank you Matt & Pru so much for a wonderful experience and letting us share your amazing location!

An amazing location for Sunset Cabin. Didn’t want to leave and our dog thought he was in heaven.

Had the best 2 nights away here. Was lovely from start to finish. Extremely clean, everything we needed was there. Just perfect , all of us would definitely be coming back.
Highly recommend
I went with my friends and boyfriend for my birthday for a weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The cabin was lovely inside and had everything we needed, including netflix on the tv which was a bonus. The hot tub was lovely and the views were beautiful, especially at sunset when we enjoyed a beautiful pink sky. The beds are really comfortable and the cabin is in a lovely location with lots of interesting places to explore on the land. I would definitely stay here again!
Great holiday the owner was very welcoming and friendly the cabin was excellent clean and had everything thing you needed. The garden was great loads of space to play. Lovely walks in the woods and the hot tub was fantastic.
I would recommend the cabin to family and friends.
I will be going back again.
Thank you Matt and Pru for making our holiday with the family so fantastic

Lovely place to stay in the middles of the woods with beautiful su set view. Lovely walk on site.
The property was very clean had everything you needed. We had our 10 year old son with us, he had plenty of room to play football and run about. The hot tub was lovely to use while the sun set. The owners Matt and Pru were lovely people and very helpful. The cabin is set on very scenic land. Lovely walk around the woods and by the lake. There is a local shop/ kids park about 5 mins away by car. Everything else about 30 mins by car. A very enjoyable week away with family. Very serene peaceful location.
We had a very relaxing week at Sunset Cabin.
It is set in lovely grounds with literally acres at out disposal.
The cabin is roomy and cosy and very up together.
Just one thing to highlight, the washing machine (advertised) has been replaced with a dish washer, presumably to help meet Covid regs. No great issue but helpful to be aware ahead of travel.
The area is lovely, quite close to beaches and Lynton etc
We recommend the mobile fish & chip van on Friday evening to nearby Bratton Fleming. Portions not massive so maybe best ordering large, but yummy.
We would definitely return if Matt & Pru will have us.

Hi Steve thank you for the lovely review! We didn't realise that we hadn't updated the listing information re the dishwasher - but good news is that (coincidentally!) the week after you left we actually altered the utility room area to give room for installing a washing machine too. So there is now both a dishwasher and a washing machine in there. Thanks again for the review and please do think of us if you ever plan a trip back to north Devon :) Pru.
