Hunter cottage, owned by the company Ronald Stoute & Sons Ltd. is nestled in the lush tropical gardens of the tranquil Castle Close Estate. This cottage offers a spacious living room with peaked ceiling, an adjoining dining room to seat up to eight, fully equipped kitchen with molded counter tops and a separate laundry with washer, dryer and freezer. The living/dining area opens through two separate french doors to a large terrace from which the soothing sounds of a waterfall by the pool can be enjoyed. The private pool and deck are accessed from this terrace via a short wooden bridge. For those who prefer to sit around the pool in a shaded location, a pagoda provides some protection from the sun at one end of the pool deck. There is an electrical outlet under the pagoda for your convenience, should you need to take your blender outside to mix tropical drinks or maybe to listen to music.
On the other side of the dining area is an enclosed courtyard, accessed from the master bedroom and kitchen as well as the dining room. This offers private alfresco dining, particularly for early morning breakfast. There are three air-conditioned bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms and also equipped with ceiling fans for those that prefer not to use the ac's. The master bedroom contains a king-size bed, and the bathroom has both a shower stall and a tub. The second bedrooms is furnished with a king-sized bed and the third with two singles. Daily maid service is provided and additional arrangements can be made for a cook to provide meals. There are several beaches within easy walking distance of the villa.
This cottage has been tastefully furnished and recently refurbished in the living/dining area. The use of coral stone wall finishes and tropical hardwood floors make it a very appealing place to stay as can be attested to by our many repeat guests. Give it a try- we are sure you will want to return!

Great location

Our stay at Hunters Cottage was amazing. Located near historical Sam Lord's Castle in a beautiful and quiet gated community. The floorplan was well designed and up to date. Gillian, property manager was very attentive and easily accessible. Noami, housekeeper was very kind, personable, and professional. We would definitely stay again.

We loved staying at Hunter house! I told my wife a number of times that “this house is just perfect!” We loved the pool. We especially enjoyed the ‘open air’ atmosphere. We would heartily recommend it to others.

The property is fabulous. Gillian, Naomi and Beverly were all wonderful and added to the relaxation that we were all looking for. The villa is away from the hustle and bustle of the west side but we loved that. Fully recommend it and will gladly come back !! Thank you !!

Despite arriving when a hurricane was about to hit, we had a fantastic holiday. The villa is beautiful (and well built, we felt very safe during the storm). Beautiful pool, and location. Gillian was very attentive and helpful, which was very much appreciated. We loved Naomi the housekeeper. Barbados is a friendly, interesting place. Definitely hire a car to see the island and do the tours, lots to see. Can't recommend Barbados and this villa highly enough. Thank you for looking after us

Excellent cottage and wonderful accommodations

We really enjoyed our fabulous week at Hunters Cottage. Everything was exactly like the pictures featured on VRBO. Gillian was a dream to work with and our wonderful housekeeper, Naomi, was a true delight. We enjoyed exploring Barbados and especially enjoyed relaxing by the pool every day. Our party of 4 adults give this beautiful property a perfect 10!! We mainly cooked our meals in and had plenty of room to relax inside and outside on the comfortable furniture throughout the cottage. Our bedrooms were super comfortable with the nice and cold AC. We all slept great every night! We rented a mini van to see the island and enjoyed snorkeling with the turtles and sting rays at Carlisle Bay. There is a beautiful beach within a 5 minute walk behind the house, adjacent to Sam's Lord Castle. A bit rough surf but so beautiful. We had a delicious dinner at Dis Old House walking distance from the cottage. Excellent meal! We definitely will come back to this beautiful paradise again. Thank you to Gillian and her excellent staff for making our vacation so memorable 💖

A wonderful home with gracious hosts!

My wife and I were kidnapped by our 15 and 13 year old grandchildren and transported almost magically to the lovely Island-country of Barbados. Fortunately, we were able to find just the most perfect vacation home on VRBO. Little did we know just how perfect this home would be for us! From our first interactions with the property manager (host) of Hunter's Cottage in the Long Bay region of South Barbados, Gillian from Ronald Stoute Company, the entire process of procuring the house was a breeze and perfectly seemless. Gillian communicated very well and always graciously. She arranged for a driver to bring us straight to the home from the airport, and Naomi, a warm and lovely member of Gillian's team, met us at the home and oriented us to this gorgeous place with it's stunning swimming pool. The home is large, spacious, very clean and neat, and located in a very quiet, private, gated community near Sam Lord's castle. The kitchen is abundantly outfitted, and we were able to provide a list of food for the stay, which was purchased and delivered to the home (and put away by Naomi prior to our arrival). We paid for the food, and were delighted with this wonderful welcoming touch. We were provided with the name of a local personal chef, Beverly, who met with us one evening to discuss a menu, and who then cooked delicious local dishes at her home and brought them to us, hot and ready to eat. We shared the food over a family dinner, including Beverly as our guest, Simply divine

My husband and I spent 6 weeks at Hunter Cottage and loved everything about it. The property is beautiful! The house is well kept and very spacious. Naomi, the house keeper, is lovely and keeps everything spic and span without being intrusive. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and very private. The roar of the surf in the background adds to the ambience of this peaceful property. We highly recommend Hunter Cottage and hope to return in the near future. Thank you Gillian and all the amazing staff who made our stay so enjoyable!

Why they chose this property

The company decided to purchase Hunter cottage as, having managed the property for so many years, we were well aware of the potential of having a property in the tranquil Castle Close complex where the spacious grounds afforded the potential for the addition of a pool, expansion of the cottage and the creation of the lush tropical garden that now surrounds the cottage. The proximity to Sam Lord's' Castle beach was also a huge asset.

What makes this property unique

The tranquility in Castle Close away from the hustle and bustle of traffic is an ideal location for a true holiday getaway. The South and West coasts are just 20 and 30 minutes drive away if you want to spend a day out for snorkeling, skiing or windsurfing but returning to this South- Eastern side of the island is always a most refreshing treat at the end of a long day. Here you can relax in the afternoon without the sun beating in prior to sunset, and enjoy the breezes which makes both the evenings and sunbathing much more pleasurable! You may soon decide that you would rather not leave this side! Not to mention that for early risers the sunrise is a beautiful time of day and seeing the sun rise out of the ocean on the East is something not to be missed. The same goes for the moon at night and moonlight nights on the terrace or pool deck, listening to the waterfall while enjoying a glass of wine or cocktail is a special treat at Hunter.
