A Beautiful Golden Circle cottage, paradise in the south Iceland, hot tub, wi-fi

The cottage has a ground floor of 60 m². There are 2 recently expanded bedrooms –
2 double bed. A kitchen, dining area for 6 and a living room, a bathroom with a shower. Towels and linens are provided.
The cottage is situated in the Hraunborgir area, a guiet community, by Kiðjabergsvegur (rout 353) only 3 km. Off Route 35 Biskupstungnabraut, a hidden pearl in the south, some 45 minutes, drive from the capital Reykjavik. It is ideal if you want to explore the golden Circle, Þingvellir National Park, Kerið, Gullfoss and Geysir and much more. Also in short distance is Mt. Hekla, the beautiful Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss Waterfalls and Þórsmörk, a natural gem. On your way to or from Reykjavik you can check out the Hveragarður (Steamgarden) in the town of Hveragerði.
The area has a warm swimming pool, 3 hot tups, jacuzzi, wading pool a steambath and a Minigolf, that can be enjoyed by all age groups, over the summer. For golfers there is a 9 –hole golf course, with a par 3 holes, suitable for both beginners and more experienced. From Hraunborgir there is a short driving distance off 10 min, to another golf course, one of the best in the country, Kiðjaberg.
The cottage has Wi-Fi and a well equipped kitchen with a fridge (includes a freezer), oven/stove and a dish washer. A dining area next to the kitchen and seats for 6 persons easily. There is also a living room with a sofa, table and and two chairs. The living room has a Smart TV, a DVD/CD player and a radio. The bathroom contents of a toilet, washbasin and a shower plus a new washing machine. There is WiFi internet connection in the house.
The cottage has a large patio around it – with a great BBQ grill. The surroundings are very beautiful with many trees and large plot, with great possibility to see Northern lights, during the winter time.
We love the quietness and the birdlife around the houses, at the same time people are very isolated from their neighbors

Wonderful place to stay

We had a fantastic stay here. The property is beautifully decorated, well equipped with everything you need, very warm and cozy and the hot tub is an added bonus. It’s also perfectly located to explore all the sights along the Golden Circle and also a good distance to Reykjavik. We would definitely love to stay here again on our next visit.

The cabin is exactly as described. Its a comfortable and cozy stay with a beautiful view. The host required us to sign additonal documents about a week or two after he had already accepted our reservation and taken payment. If the host wants an additional off platform lease agreement, he needs to say that before accepting payment and confirming the reservation. The hot tub works great and the host gave us lots of recommendations for places to visit in the area. The knob to turn on the shower broke during our stay and the host came to fix it within a day which we appreciated. Overall a good stay. Just need to be transparent and ethical with booking/business practices.

Great location for day trips around the south east

I booked this place as a home-base for our week long trip to Iceland. It was perfectly located to do day trips all along the south east section of the ring road. We absolutely loved it and was perfectly satisfied about the location and relative proximity to Reykjavik, and the golden circle.

Amazing!We've stayed in dozens of VRBO or AirB&B properties but I think this is probably our favourite.The property is so welcoming and comfortable. It feels very light and airy while still being warm. The house is stocked with all the necessities including tea,coffee and hot chocolate as well as things like oil, spices and pastas etc. There are a couple of shops on the road in or larger stores in Selfoss to grab your provisions. We enjoyed breakfast on the decking overlooking the gardens. Beautiful views all around, Even managed to catch the Aurora Loved every minute of our stay, were already planning to return. Thanks so much to our hosts.

Excellent property and host.

Great place for access to the Golden Circle attractions. It’s nice to come back after a day of touring to a house that feels like home rather than a motel room or a camper van. Very comfortable and very well equipped. You need only stop at the grocery store and buy groceries. Anything and everything you might need is already there waiting for you to use. The heated ceramic floor and the bathroom was wonderful. Relaxing in the hot tub in the evening was a perfect way to wind down from the today’s travel.

Golden circle vacation

Stayed with my husband for half week at this wonderful cottage. Location was perfect for day trips. We enjoyed the golden circle, the Tomato cafe, and relaxing at the cottage in the evening. We cooked breakfast and dinners there, used the hot in after hikes. We were lucky to have great conditions to see northern lights every night. Would highly recommend staying here and we hope to be back.

Amazing Cottage!

I truly think this cottage is one of my favorite VRBOs I have ever stayed it! The heated bathroom floor, the hot tub, the privacy and golf. It is amazing! I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to see places along the Golden Circle. Wonderful place, comfortable beds, really everything was perfect!!

Cozy hideaway in the Golden Circle Area

this cottage is a beautiful, cozy and lovingly decorated place. It is perfectly located for many exciting excursions in this beautiful area, e.g. the Golden Circle, horse riding, hiking in Geothermal areas near Hveragerdi, bathing in lagunes, etc. and then closing the day in the hot tub at the cottage - just perfect!

Great spot for families

Great location, stayed for a week at David’s property. He was kind enough to meet us at check-in and show us around the property. Highly recommend going to the Vestmann Islands and going to all the local municipal pools with your kids. Be sure to learn Iceland pool etiquette!

The Perfect Place

David provided excellent instructions not only of the cottage but what was available to see in the area—as well as greeting is when we arrived! There is everything you need to stay and more. It’s in a perfect location to see the Kenid Crater, Gullfoss, Geysir, Thingvellir Nat’l park and more. As well it is beautifully decorated with the bonus of a small putting range on the property. We absolutely loved our stay and felt so much at home!

Great Location!

We stayed at this property during a 5 night stopover and had a fantastic visit. The house is in a gated community a bit over an hour away from Keflavik Airport. The location ended up being perfect for all of the day trips we took around the southern part of Iceland. The darling cottage itself is clean, well appointed and comfortable. Taking a soak in the hot tub on a cold and clear night was an added bonus. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great location to see lots of sights, and chill in between

We had 5 nights with our family of 2 adults and 2 small children. The cottage was well equipt to enjoy meals and relax - a really comfortable living space for a family. The garden/yard and hot tub were a great bonus and our boys loved exploring out there. We saw 7 of the main attractions at easy daily outings. The bedrooms are a little small, but beds are comfortable and plenty of room to relax in the main area. We'd love to return to the cottage on a future trip!

A great place for the golden circle and the south part of Iceland

The property is excellent, with a nice location that is easily accessible. It's close enough to Reykjavík, which is perfect if you encounter a rainy day and need to change your plans. However, it's important to ensure that you and your company are well-coordinated as the bedrooms are minuscule. It seems that the owner has plans to expand them in the future, but it hasn't happened yet. Nonetheless, overall, it's a fantastic place where you feel at home right away.

Wonderful Family Cottage Retreat in Selfoss Area

Our family of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers) had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage. It was in a great location for exploring the area and taking a day trip along the southern coast. The owners were very helpful and accommodating when we needed to change our arrival time. Our first full day at the cottage was so cozy and relaxing, that after a lot of driving the day before, we all just enjoyed spending time in the cottage and on the deck and going to the pool that is part of the property complex. The kitchen had everything we needed to be able to make most of our meals there and there was a nice grocery store in Selfoss. It was beautiful to be there in the summer and I would love to come back to this property during another season too.

Nice house, lovely and silent place

Stayed at the lovely house for 8 days with 3 adults. Very clean an new, and everything you need is there. Coffee making possibilities also there (bodum can & senseo machine), toaster, water cooker, hairdyer etc..Bathroom is new as well and has a big shower! Many birds singing around the house, many trees surrounding the house - recreation at highest silence. Great! Golf opportunities nearby. Supermarkets and other shopping markets, gas stations are to reach in about 20km atmSelfoss - everything you need. Only thing to mention, sleeping rooms and beds are small and you have to climb over your partner to get out - if it matters :-) Thanks a lot for the nice stay, David! Highest recommendation from Germany!
