Great spacious house in a very quiet location. Bedrooms a touch unusual and could do with a second shower for a group of adults but apart from that a great place . Lovely walks straight from the house around RSPB Arne .

We love the house and we've stayed there before.
We love the house and we've stayed there before. It's very comfortable and we really like all the quirky furnishings and artworks. Our young grandson was with us for the weekend and he also loved the house and especially the bunk-bed room. We thought it was surprising, though, for a holiday let that there were no children's games or books suitable for wet days, so we were glad we brought our own. The kitchen is well equipped but the microwave is unusually high up (as others have mentioned) and you have to be careful when taking out hot things. We also couldn't find some basics like a potato masher and obvious bottle opener. The owner obviously loves wildlife and we like the bird and squirrel feeders and the wild garden and the deer in the neighbouring field. The house feels very secluded, which we liked, although in some places we think the vegetation is taking over and inhibiting sunlight coming in. The location of Arne Barn cannot be bettered if you love nature, with the beautiful Arne Nature Reserve and Purbeck Heath Reserve on the doorstep. The newly opened RSPB cafe just a short walk down the road is a real bonus!

We enjoyed our stay at Arne Barn and were delighted with the proximityto the RSPB Arne site just a few hundred meters walk away. The property is well furnished and comfortable but there were a few 'oddities': (a) the bathrooms don't have towel rails, just a piece of branch fixed to the walls with only enough hanging for one towel, (b) the microwave was set at eye level which we considered was very dangerous when taking out hot food or drinks, (c) with the exception of the kitchen table outside the kitchen, the work serfaces, bathroom sinks and dining table were all higher than is normal (d) the family bathroom didn't have a shower attachment to the bath, so no shower option in this bathroom.
Having said all that, these are fairly minor matters and we all enjoyed the property and the surrounding countryside.

The kitchen could do with a proper clean . We found food at the bottom of one of the drawers. the sheets on one of the bunk beds were clean but stained. The microwave should be at eye level for safety reasons. Despite these criticisms it was a great place to stay.

Lovely cottage in a remote setting in the Arne peninsula. Well-equipped, interesting building, with useful garden space. We particularly enjoyed the bird feeders. Beautiful walks from the cottage in the RSPB reserve. Within easy reach of beaches, restaurants and hiking country.

This was our second time in the Barn.
This was our second time in the Barn. We found the replaced bed much more comfortable than the old one. The location is still as stunning, with deer and birds outside the window and extremely quiet and private. The wifi was ok for some video calls. We enjoyed the new speaker system and smart TV. Wonderful walks from the door, 20 mins to the sea. Shops and pubs 10 min drive in Wareham. Hope to be back!

Arne Barn is in a delightful location, with easy journeys to beautiful parts of Dorset (Corfe Castle, Studland Beach, Swanage etc). The accommodation is lovely, with its semi wild garden giving lots of different places to sit and catch the sun and listen to nothing but bird song. Totally dog friendly enclosed garden which is great and stress fee! Loved sitting in the ‘sofa set ‘ and watching the deer in the field. The master bedroom was delightful with lovely bedding and the en-suite shower was great. The light curtains made sure we woke up early!(Take eye masks with you if you want a black out!) We also used the twin room which was very comfortable. Another shower in the property would probably be useful for a larger group, unless you like a bath! Lots of space in the house, and the sitting area was so comfy and cosy. Wish we knew how to play a piano ! We loved staying and felt so relaxed. Perfect place to stay and unwind, and the quirky touches added to the enjoyment! Would easily choose to stay again.

We had a fabulous time at Arne Barn.
We had a fabulous time at Arne Barn. The cottage is spacious and very well equipped. The decorative elements and natural materials make it a warm home. It was great to have a piano and a gorgeous garden. Arne Barn lies practically in an RSPB nature reserve with walking routes from the door step, an adventure playground next to the cows, a hide, a viewing point, a beach. We also made splendid walks a bit farther: around Studland, Acton and West Lulworth. Wareham is only 10 min. by car. There, we made a lovely kayak and canoe trip on the River Frome. Wareham's supermarket had everything we needed for our stay.

Large doors were not very secure.
However it was a very generous spacious holiday house and the piano was a huge bonus for us. Being able to watch the deer was delightful.

A warm and comfortable home.
A warm and comfortable home. Gardens lovely proper English wild country gardens full of wild birds of many different species and views of the deer and stags in adjacent field make it a very unique place to stay . Near to coast and Wareham Forest which our dog loves. The shower in the on suite to main bedroom is excellent. However a second shower over the bath in the main bathroom would be very beneficial for a family .

Arne Barn is a charming, quirky holiday residence in the RSPB reserve at Arne.
Arne Barn is a charming, quirky holiday residence in the RSPB reserve at Arne. The location is idyllic and so peaceful. The barn is the last building at the end of a country lane. The walks from the barn are superb but if, like us, you have dogs then please note that the RSPB reserve and most of the beaches we visited require them to be on a lead at all times. Just a couple of niggles. The bed in the master bedroom is hard and uncomfortable despite being replaced since our visit two years’ ago. The access via the drive is now very overgrown and whilst easy to get in, it’s very tough reversing out. A bit of clearing, removal of hidden boulders and widening of the central parking area would make a big difference.
