Refurbished in 2020, this lovely, first floor apartment has gardens to enjoy and waterfall and river with private fishing, Burton Force waterfall is nearby.. External steps to entrance.

Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed

Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds

Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. NSH, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair. Laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer (shared with other properties on site). Courtyard with garden furniture, 2-acre garden with garden furniture and barbecue, and 5-acre paddock (shared with other properties on site). Fishing on-site. Private parking. The charging of electric vehicles is not permitted at the property. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced river in the paddock and a pond in the grounds.. Set in the beautiful grounds of the owners’ home, these four holiday properties (E5118, E5119, E5120 and E5551) are tastefully decorated and finished to a high standard, retaining many original features. Guests have the use of the large, landscaped gardens with ponds, waterfall and river frontage, plus private fishing. The quaint village of West Burton in which these cottages are situated, nestles in the Walden Valley among the beautiful Wensleydale countryside, and is well known as one of the loveliest villages in the Dales with a large village green, market cross, Burton Force waterfall and no through traffic; it has a truly traditional feel with a shop and a pub serving food. An excellent base for touring throughout the Yorkshire Dales, with the bustling market towns of Hawes and Leyburn only 10 miles. Bolton Castle, the Black Sheep Brewery and The Wensleydale Creamery are all within easy reach. For the walker, there is easy access from the village onto open moors and fells. For family days out, don’t miss The Forbidden Corner gardens and Lightwater Valley theme park. Shop and pub serving food 500 yards.

Only minor quibbles were on the equipment in the kitchen - (i) it could do with a vegetable peeler and a rack for the grill (ii) for a property that can (and in our case very comfortably did) sleep 6, it could do with a few more plates, mugs and bowls. We had a lovely week in the Carriage house.

We had a lovely week in the Carriage house. It is perfectly located to explore the whole of Wensleydale and beyond . West Burton is a gem of a village! It is an upper floor apartment so not suitable for people with mobility problems and not ideal for toddlers. The rooms are very big and nicely fitted, the sofas are gorgeous. The double bed looks fab but it is VERY squeaky, possibly some screws need tightening. The bathroom all worked fine and the kitchen had everything we could have needed. There is a shared washing machine and drier downstairs. We were a little disappointed the fire place did not let off a glow, it looks nice in the pic but other than give off heat it didn't really fit in...not a deal breaker!! There was plenty of storage and the lighting was lovely though a reading light in the living room would have been good. On our arrival we found a lovely bottle of fresh milk and some shortbread which was nice touch. Would we return? If the bed is sorted definitely!!! The Carriage house is situated in a beautiful village, small village shop, butchers, tea shop, antiq

The Carriage house is situated in a beautiful village, small village shop, butchers, tea shop, antiques. vilage green and mobile fish & chips on Wednesdays. Very pretty waterfall within the village and good walks from the village. Close to Aysgarth, Hawes and Leyburn. We shall probably return to the village.

A bit cold.

A bit cold. We had paid for a week as we couldn’t just do the weekend. No problem but when I arrived it was freezing!! Kitchen window broken so opened and closed banging all night!! Beautiful location, great building.
