Seymour Cottage is a cosy Victorian cottage centrally located in the picturesque Norfolk Broads village of Horning and is just across the road from the river. Features include entrance hall, bathroom, open plan lounge/kitchen, 2 double bedrooms, SmartTV, CD Player, DVD player, electric storage heating, front courtyard garden, secluded upstairs patio, use of small private staithe on the river, private car parking. COTTAGE SWAPS CONSIDERED.
What can I do here?: The three main attractions are the Norfolk Broads (rivers and lakes) with rural countryside, the historic cathedral city of Norwich and the wonderful sandy Norfolk Coastline including the bustling seaside resorts of Cromer and Great Yarmouth. All this is less than 30 minutes drive from the cottage.
What are the Norfolk Broads?: The Norfolk Broads are a unique combination of slow meandering rivers with beautiful lakes (locally known as Broads). The river banks include thatched cottages with immaculate lawns (and gardens), reed beds (used for roof thatching) and many pretty staithes (a local word for a place to moor your boat). The best way to enjoy this wonderful National Park is either on-foot or by boat. Boats can be either hired (by the hour or day) or take an organised trip - Norfolk boats are either motor cruisers or traditional wooden sailing yachts.

A beautiful cottage, fabulous location in Horning, and incredibly well kitted out with everything we could possibly require. It's an ideal location for kayaking on the Broads and visiting friends in Norwich. The decoration is lovely, and communication with the property manager was speedy and very friendly. We will certainly book this cottage again, and are very happy to recommend it.

Lovely holiday generally very clean and neat and tidy.
Cushions/pillows could do with a change as they are bit old/stained but generally the cottage and location were lovely and i would definitley stay again
Cottage is in an excellent location, opposite the river and the New Inn pub which serves very good food. Two minutes walk to village centre and local shops, cafes, restaurant and another pub.
The cottage was lovely, very comfortable and very well equipped with everything you would need.We will definitely stay here again
Lovely cottage which met our every need. Clean, well equipped and comfortable both upstairs and downstairs. Ideally placed to visit Morfolk which we did from Hunstanton to Great Yarmoith, taking in Cromer and Sheringham.
Spotlessly clean, very comfortable with needs well catered for.
Spotlessly clean, comfortable, excellent location. Arrangement of bathroom & outside seating area awkward positions but would return immediately!

Thank you for your review and so glad you enjoyed your stay. For anyone wondering about the bathroom and patio- the bathroom is downstairs. Being a Victorian cottage it didn't have one when it was built. The patio is also a more recent addition and is upstairs off of one of the bedrooms but is a lovely outside space and a perfect sun trap.
Seymour Cottage has a lovely cosy feel. It is in beautiful condition and is well appointed. Also, our bed was very comfortable.
The central position in Horning puts it within very short walking distance (5 minutes or so) of two great pub/resteraunts and a couple of lovely cafes.
We really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your lovely review and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. I know we are biased but we think Horning is one of the prettiest villages in the Broads and are so lucky that it still has so many amenities. We hope to welcome you back again in the future.
Kind regards
Ruth
Lovely clean property, living room would be cosy for 4 people. Well equipped kitchen. Only drawback is parking space which is small for larger cars and with poor visibility of road. Also workers of boatyard park opposite the driveway so unable to reverse into the driveway if you come back to the cottage during work hours.
Seymour cottage was so much nicer than we thought it would be. Super cozy and warm. It was perfect for our 4 night break seeing family at Christmas.
Very clean. Very well equipped. Just right.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I’m so glad you enjoyed it and hope to welcome you back again soon.
The process was efficient and the host sent lots of useful information. The little upstairs courtyard was great for morning coffee and the cottage is very well situated. It is thoughtfully equipped, cosy and comfortable. We had a good time!

Dear Kim
I am so sorry the cottage wasn’t up to its normally high standard and will speak to my cleaner to rectify this as we try very hard to maintain high levels of cleanliness and many of our reviews confirm this.
We have been trialling the 4pm check- in time and 11am check out time for about 6 months now and most people seem to prefer it as packing up and leaving by 10am is quite hard. I did text you to say the cottage was ready at 3 pm which is often the case and once the cleaner has left you are welcome to access the cottage.
I hope you enjoyed your stay despite this.
Kind regards
Ruth
We love the Norfolk Broads and have already had a boating holiday this year so fancied something different. So we booked Seymour Cottage. Its a lovely cosy little cottage with everything you could possibly want or need. It doesn't have a riverside view but is straight opposite the pub which is on the river. Fabulous stay and would recommend.
Lovely little cottage situated close to the river in a very central location. The village shop, 2 pubs, cafe, chinese takeaway & a restaurant are all within a 2-3 minute walk. The only negative... there is no loo upstairs !

Unfortunately Victorian cottages weren’t built with bathrooms so ours had to be added on downstairs but at least the stairs are easy.
Glad you had a good time though and hope to welcome you back again soon.
This cottage is really cute, comfortable and perfectly located in the village of Horning. It's very near a nice pub, but no noise could be heard from the pub.
The cottage is very well equipped and the wifi works perfectly! The Smart TV was also very appreciated.
The village is really charming, has everything you need and it's great fun watching the boats on the beautiful river Bure. The little village shop, a cafe, a Chinese take away, restaurants and three pubs are all within walking distance.
We very much enjoyed our visit here and would recommend this cottage to anyone planing a visit to the Norfolk Broads and surrounding area.

Well appointed in limited space
We enjoyed a stay in perfect weather
Good position near to waterfront and excellent eateries
Cottage itself has limited views and is a bit dark but it was spotlessly clean and comfortable
Horning is a well placed village for visiting the area
Managing the rubbish and recycling was a problem - not sure about what we were meant to do
Also internet access and tv reception spasmodic but we were on holiday so it wasn’t that important
Enjoyed our stay

Hi Christine. Thank you for your kind review and also for your comments. I will get the caretaker to check the TV aerial as this is not normally a problem.
Unfortunately we are unable to recycle at the cottage as we have no room to store a bin and the council have recently removed the village recycling bins and replaced them with bicycles for hire!
