Situated above the sea, Casa Azul is perfectly centrally located on a private, peaceful 3 acre hilltop estate property. Casa Azul and Casa Linda Vista property is tucked into beautiful wooded surroundings offering seclusion with spacious, clean accommodations set back a few hundred yards off the northwest end of Playa Grande. The 3 acre property borders the Las Baulas National Park and the excellent surf breaks at Playa Grande a short few minutes walk away.

Casa Azul is ideal for those seeking tranquility, comfort and easy access to a wide variety of leisure activities. You can choose to prepare meals at home or dine in more than a dozen local restaurants.

Connect with nature! Monkeys, iguanas, birds, cool breezes and pretty views. It is private, quite and secure. We are very close to everything. It is only seconds to the beach, restaurants, small market and the laid back village of Playa Grande. The houses are affordable, fully equipped, clean and comfortable. It's truly a peaceful getaway at Casa Azul and Casa Linda Vista, Playa Grande.

Kai and Ruth have such a beautiful piece of paradise! We had everything we needed for our stay. Even got a late night visit from some howler monkeys. All kinds of beautiful birds on the property as well. Highly recommended!

Playa Grande

This is a great place to stay, its quiet, comfortable, clean and situated on a small hill (good breeze and a view). Craig is a great host, communicates in a timely fashion and knows what is going on locally. Easy walk to the beach and to town. I would recommend renting a car if you stay here.

We spent a restful three nights here, sat outside in the morning with our coffee and watched the birds and monkeys in the treetops, went down several times a day to the beautiful beach, enjoyed good food at several local restaurants. Our host Kai was super friendly and helpful – – he came down to the beach two different times to jump our rental car, before we finally got it fixed!

Quiet hide out

PG has been over developed in the last few years and is not the quiet eco-traveler gem it once was. This site has a good buffer from the hustle bustle of the town and is a haven for local wildlife as well as travelers. Its for people who like quiet, nature and don't want a lot of fru fru.

A little piece of heaven!

We love the location - quiet enough and private but a ten minute walk to the beach. The host Kai was a delight to deal with. He helped us navigate the area, recommended things to do and see. The house was more than comfortable, and had everything we needed. Some nights we went out and others we had romantic dinners at home. The howler monkeys were a delight to watch! The nature surrounding the home is magical. We would love to return again!

Just perfect!

This was our favourite of the 6 places we stayed in Costa Rica. Such a cute house, well equipped to cook, located in beautiful gardens. We saw howler monkeys in the tree just outside the house. Playa Grande is a gorgeous beach, a short walk away. You can do a long walk on the beach. The waves were so fun. Kai was a great host - there to meet us and checking with us during our stay to see if we needed anything. We want to come back with our friends.

Craig, aka Kaï, est un hôte sympathique et serviable. La casa Azul est confortable et bien pensée. Perchée sur une petite colline et pourvue de grandes fenêtres à moustiquaires, l'air y circule facilement de jour comme de nuit, nul besoin d'air climatisé. C'est un énorme avantage dans un pays si chaud. On a tout ce qu'il faut pour cuisiner, le lit est confortable. On entend parfois des singes hurleurs et des oiseaux jacasseurs, on voit des iguanes, bref on se sent en pleine jungle et c'est formidable. La plage est à une bonne dizaine de minutes de marche (pensez à vous munir d'un parasol!), la petite épicerie est située à égale distance de marche. Seul bémol, et cela concerne seulement les femmes qui voyagent seules: le chemin de terre qui mène à la maison n'est pas éclairé la nuit. Si vous n'avez pas loué de voiture ou de scooter, cela peut faire craindre des mauvaises surprises. Le quartier est sécuritaire, cependant, m'a-t-on dit. Je recommande chaudement cet endroit, c'est un véritable petit paradis, loin du bruit et des foules. Je n'hésiterais pas à y retourner... avec une voiture.

Beautiful spot and comfortable place to stay! Kai is welcoming and has done a great job at creating an inviting, private and well maintained property - with nice plantings, howler monkeys, and iguanas in the surrounding trees. A 10-15min walk with a toddler down to Playa Grande. Thanks again!

Playa grande stay.

Great property! The accommodations were exactly as advertised, super clean and had everything we needed. Family of monkeys in the trees right above the house, iguanas, and birds galore. Short walk to the beach and the host was fantastic! Would definitely rent again!

Clustered bungalows on nice green property with lots of birds and iguanas, close to beach.

It was a great comfortable home. Other family with kids lived in bigger home 200 feet away. Nice and quiet. Short walk to beach and restaurants. Kai was very accessible.

Lovely property

We enjoyed Kai’s property very much. It’s clean and cozy. We appreciated the short walk to the best surfing beach around. We also did a Isla Capitan kayak/ snorkel/ hike tour and a sunset sail from Playa Flamingo. Thanks Kai!

Beautiful, Private Spot!

This place was exactly as advertised and a little piece of heaven. We are people that enjoy quiet and love the rustic feel. If you are someone wanting to be pampered and have all the amenities this is not the place for you. There is no a/c but the fans do an excellent job of keeping the air cool. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, very well thought out. We did not have a car and the location was close enough to town and the beach that it was easy enough to walk places. However, if you are someone with health or mobility issues, this might be particularly challenging. Although there are three other houses on the property, it is quiet and they are strategically placed so it feels very private. The surrounding trees were lovely and we had howler monkeys and iguanas pass through those directly outside of our window many times. The open air concept of this house is absolutely great. The only thing missing on this property are some hammocks to lounge in. Kai was a great host and was very friendly. He was able to arrange airport transfer for us and checked in to make sure we didn't need anything.
