Great property, pet friendly was a big plus for us! Close to restaurants and general store. Kitchen had all we needed, and we appreciated the grill! Loved the deck as well, we will definitely be back!

The jacuzzi tub was almost unusable because of the lack of hot water. This was a main reason why we chose this cabin. We thought there would be more soap like a hotel which is very minor, but you’d expect it considering the amount of money it takes to rent the place.

I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed. This cabin has 80 gallons of hot water with 2 water heaters linked together, a 40 gallon gas water heater for quick recovery and a 40 gallon electric water heater for additional hot water storage. I'm not sure why you wouldn't have enough hot water. Also, although we do not provide shampoo & conditioner products due to the excessive waste from all the tiny plastic bottles and the fact that people tend to prefer using their own products, we do provide some hotel soaps as well as hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap and laundry soap.
4 adults (2 couples). Spent the day in Alpine, AZ. Saturday we watched the Army Navy game at Molly Butlers. Sunday breakfast at the Rendezvous Cafe. Great trip. Cabin was fantastic. Very clean. Off the main road and very private. Definitely saving The Lamar for future visits.
Had a fabulous getaway at Lamar Cabin—Myrick’s Cabins…just outside of Greer Az. Private, cozy, well stocked, beautiful sky and treetop views from the living room and the deck. 9 days of recharging. Close to town but secluded in the forest. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful is the best word to describe the cabin! One of the better upkept cabins we've stayed at in Greer. Loved the closed off porch that gave our pups a place to lounge outdoors and watch nature, which included watching the squirrels jumping through the trees! Cannot wait for our next Greer visit and fingers crossed the Lamar Cabin is available as we will definitely stay again. Thank you!!!
Kathy was great and communication was clear and easy thanks again!

Nice place.
It was very relaxing since all the nearby cabins were vacant. I wish there was a FirePit or even stairs in the front of the property for ease of entry, but I'd stay again for sure!

Reggie, This cabin didn't have a good place for a firepit without taking out mature pine trees, which we want to protect, but our other 3 cabins do have campfire pits so maybe they might be a better fit for you. :) Also, this cabin has a ramp to the front door instead of stairs so our guests in wheelchairs can easily access the cabin. Let us know when you wish to come back--we'd love to have you stay with us again!

Thank you for your lovely comments! We work hard to set the stage for a wonderful experience. Glad to have you back sometime!
Having usually stayed intown we really enjoyed being in the woods! The cabin was comfortable and very clean- a real bonus. I had a minor issue with the coffee maker and it was handled immediately. A place we will revisit. Also 30 degrees cooler than the Valley!
We all enjoyed our stay. We were a little confused at how to find the lakes mentioned, so we drove down some roads. Overall it was nice to be able to use my wheelchair inside. The kitchen & bathrooms are not accessible though & I needed help to get out to the deck, but nice to have ramps & grab bars. Greer is beautiful!
Our trip was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I had not been to the area before and appreciated such a lovely call with Kathy to tell me about all the wonderful things to enjoy in the area. The recommendations were wonderful. Additionally, the cabin was just incredible! It was cozy, clean, comfortable, and so relaxing. It was everything I hoped for :) Also the view of the stars since you are nestled away in the woods away from all the city lights was unreal. I highly recommend this cabin for a beautiful and relaxing time.
To say that the stay at the Lamar cabin was magical would be an understatement. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful scenery and excellent recreation areas. The directions to get there were very clear, and the owner responds rapidly when and if you need her. You have everything you need in this cabin and more. My party was a total of six guests, and we all slept comfortably and had more than enough pillows, blankets, and towels. I look forward to staying on this property the next time I visit Greer.

Myrick's Lamar Cabin
Our stay at Myrick's Lamar cabin was amazing. All the amenities that you need are available along with a cozy cabin. I was surprisingly warm in the bedrooms with no heat during the chilly evenings which made it the more better. I would definitely recommend staying with Myricks as all the cabins looked amazing. Even though it is the first cabin out of all of them, we rarely had people pass by and when they did you hardly recognized it. I would definitely recommend Myricks and would plan on staying again in the future.

Warren, I'm so glad you had a good time and were comfortable. Just a quick correction though--the bedrooms do have heat. Each bedroom has a baseboard heater with a thermostat on the wall. There is also a gas fireplace in the living room. Our cabins are built with insulated panels and are very well insulated. :)
Needed a cabin that is as ADA friendly as possible. Owner took time to measure doors and provide a shower seat. The ramp to front door nice touch. To top it off the owner called promptly and let us know we had forgotten a couple of bags. Thank you for your hospotality!

We enjoyed our stay but had a rocky start when we arrived late evening to find the refrigerator had been turned off. We turned it on and it worked properly but we had to use a cooler and go to the local store for ice for the first night while it got to a safe temperature. Additionally some noisy neighbors for the first 2 nights showcased how close together the group of 4 cabins were .
the location is otherwise great.

My sincere apologies about the refrigerator. My staff must have forgotten to turn it back on after cleaning it. :)
Regarding noisy neighbors...our cabins are situated on 2 acres which gives more room between cabins than most in Greer but sound can travel at night. Our quiet hours follow typical times from 10Pm-7am. We've found that usually if our guests are a bit too loud, it is just excitement about their stay in the mountains and they don't even realize they are disturbing others. Just nicely bringing it to their attention --either by stopping by or giving me a call so I can ask them to tone it down a bit solves the problem. :)

Simple cabin
Very bare minimum rental. Sheets and towels were clean and plenty but the carpet looks dirty and smells like a wet dog. If you don’t have pets of your own you will not enjoy the smell of this cabin. The futon couches in living area are extremely uncomfortable so don’t plan on relaxing in there. Smart TV was a plus. Husband enjoyed the jetted tub. Kitchen pans need updated badly, wouldn’t recommend cooking many meals here. Overall it was an okay stay for the two nights we were there but I wouldn’t rent it again in the future just based on my personal needs and preferences.

Pretty bare bones
We stayed here for a long Labor Day weekend, so our main objective to get out of the Phoenix heat was met. I just kept thinking I paid almost $1K for a really bare-bones stay. As others have said, the living room futons are extremely uncomfortable and there's not right way to sit to look at the (old) TV. Also for almost $1K I'd expect more than one single skillet in the kitchen...that everything stuck to. And also more than one wine glass. There were little cardboard salt and pepper shakers like the kind you find at Walmart for $1 that weren't even full. It just seems like this place is a little run down and just banking that people are going to want to stay in Greer.
The 2nd bathroom's shower is extremely small--I could barely raise my arms to wash my hair. The main bedroom's bed was fine, but the pillows are tiny and most are flat. There's also only one bedside table in there, even with ample room to fit another one. If there are two people in that bed, one person just has to plug in their phone, put their water glasses/anything else on the floor.
The neighboring cabins are very close; you will hear each other. Everyone staying at our same time was courteous at night, which was great. One cabin played music all day in the afternoons which we didn't mind, but if you're looking for a very quiet trip you might not find it here.
The cabin was clean, but just old and worn. All of the owners communication says they want feedback, so I hope they see some trending ideas in several of their reviews and perhaps make some updates.

I’m sorry you felt our cabin was “bare bones”. To clarify…our cabin has a kitchen with a full size refrigerator and stove, microwave, dishwasher, drip coffee maker with filters, dishes, silverware and glasses for 8 people, including several wine glasses, a set of pots and pans, crockpot, toaster, blender, hand mixer, electric skillet and frying pan, cake pan and cookie sheet. There is a good selection of cooking utensils. We provide dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, a few hotel bath soaps, toilet paper, a roll of paper towels and garbage bags. The cabin has a gas fireplace, smart TV, with ports to hook a computer or gaming system with an hdmi cable or just enjoy free Netflix. One bathroom includes an oversized jacuzzi tub with double shower heads and the other a small shower. We provide a washer and dryer with laundry soap. There is a Weber gas grill, with propane and patio set on the deck, as well as a set of 4 Adirondack style chairs in the shade of the trees on one side of the cabin. There are linens for the beds with extra for the futons. We provide hand towels, bath towels and washcloths, kitchen towels and dishcloths. We have recently added a leather electric recliner in the living room. All we ask our guests to bring is clothes, toiletries, food items such as spices, flour, sugar, oil and foil and baggies. Salt & pepper is provided as a courtesy. This cabin is thoroughly deep cleaned each spring and fall and the carpets are cleaned at those times and spot cleaned in between. We did remove the throw pillows during the pandemic due to sanitizing issues, which may have made it feel less homey to you. I will be happy to revisit the possibility for another bedside table and check to see if wine glasses were broken this summer. :)
This was a perfect weekend getaway for my husband and I wanting to get out of the Phoenix heat and feel some Fall air. The cabin and property are exactly as listed, fantastic porch and a pretty stocked kitchen for cooking.
The only slight issue was the wheelchair accessibility. There is a ramp for easy access, but the screen door that swings out hits the angled roof and doesn’t open all the way so my husband had a really hard time trying to manouver the chair to get in and out of the cabin. Other than that, our stay was perfect.

We took your comment about the security screen door to heart and removed it. It was a great thought, but didn’t quite work due to the angle of the covered entrance. Please com e back and stay with us again sometime—you won’t have that problem again. :)
For our group of 4 over-age-85 ladies, this is a perfect cabin. We especially appreciated the grab bars in the bathrooms and the ramp leading to the door (no steps). The cabin is clean, spacious, and located in such a way that it is very private in a . beautiful setting. Everything works and we found nothing broken! It looks almost new, being so well maintained. The host is friendly, readily accessible, and even dropped by to check on us during our stay.
