Great Aug and Sept dates still open !A great place for to make family memories !
We are located on the banks of the Yellowstone River, 10 miles north of Gardiner, Montana--the oldest entrance to Yellowstone Park.
Our lodge is 4300 square feet, with seven bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a large dining room, full kitchen, large family room with stone fireplace downstairs and a large living room with stone fireplace upstairs. There are two decks, one overlooking the Yellowstone River and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We have a very large lawn with shade trees also. It is a good place to relax after a busy day of activities.
It is a beautiful and convenient location for visiting Yellowstone Park and the surrounding area. The Park is only 10 minutes away. In addition to seeing Yellowstone, there are many other activities to do and see in the area, such as: horseback riding, hiking, fishing, river rafting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and hunting. All of these activities are available in the nearby upper Yellowstone Valley. This area is a beautiful place to visit any time of the year.
Winters in the Gardiner area are usually pretty mild. The road through the northern part of Yellowstone to Cooke City is open year-round. This most scenic part of the Park offers unlimited wildlife viewing, particularly of elk, bison and the famous Yellowstone wolves. There is snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in the mountains above Gardiner, Cooke City and in the Park. Downhill skiing is also available nearby at Bridger Bowl and Big Sky. We recently installed a new propane furnace for comfortable wintertime stays .
We built the lodge ourselves with hand-hewn logs, cut and pulled out with our team of Clydesdale horses from the mountains within site of here. The stones for the fireplaces were picked from nearby fields.
The lodge is also available during hunting season. The trail heads in the vicinity offer good elk hunting on the National Forests of the Gardiner area.
While we do have a no refund policy for cancelations, we always try to work with our guests. We will give you a refund if you cancel far enough in advance for us to reschedule your dates. We generally have no trouble rescheduling the summer months unless you cancel a week or 2 prior to your stay. We will also give a refund If Yellowstone Park is closed for any reason, during your reservation dates. We highly recommend guests getting trip insurance as precaution for the possibility of a natural disaster, such as the unprecedented flooding we had this year. We are also willing to transfer your deposit to a date within the next year, if you had to cancel for some reason.
If the dates you are looking for are not available, feel free to contact us about our second log lodge. It was built in 2006 and accommodates 18. In the same great area, it is slightly smaller with five bedrooms. It is VRBO listing #151009. It is also sits on the banks of the Yellowstone River. We handle all of our bookings-no property manager . We look forward to hearing from you!

Loved the house, love the location, especially boardering the river. Plenty of outdoor space and there was a large covered patio out by the river that we could eat meal’s outside. Host was easily accessible and cordial.
The property is beautiful and close to north entrance of yellowstone park. lots of space outside and close to the river. owner went above and beyond to help us with everything!!
This is a GREAT location, a short drive from Gardiner and the North entrance to Yellowstone. The owners were very easy to work with and answered questions quickly. The grounds are beautiful, and the house had plenty of room for our family of 14.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything that you might need. Dru was great to work with and had great recommendations!
We stayed here as a whole family, which is really 4 families, 8 adults and kids ranging from 19 to 6. Dru was so nice and helpful. We drove in and out of park daily, ate at the house but also ate out. We enjoyed our stay here.
Great cabin and location. Owner very helpful and accessible. Right on the Yellowstone River

Thank you and glad you enjoyed the lodge ! Our pavillion is a great place to enjoy a meal after sightseeing in the Park or just to sit out there and watch the river run !
This was the ideal place for our extended family to hang out while we visited Yellowstone. There were plenty of rooms, a well stocked kitchen and chairs set up looking over the river. Great vacation stay.
Took 12 guys on a fly fishing trip and this place was great. We had plenty of room and loved being right on the banks of the Yellowstone River. Great host and everything was just as described. Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for staying with us and so glad you enjoyed your trip to Yellowstone ! Thanks too for leaving the lodge so clean and tidy !
This is a very well managed property. The location on the Yellowstone River was extraordinary. Everything worked well. Our group of ten grey-haired men was very happy with the facility.
I hosted a small business meeting here. Everything was found as presented. The group was happy. Decor is a bit dated but no bad smells or dirt - very clean.
We had my husbands cousins and their adult children stay here while visiting us. The time flew by and they wished there stay had been longer. Communication with owners was easy and they were so accommodating! Beautiful spot for our large group!

Perfect lodge for a big group
Couldn't have asked for a better staging point for our Yellowstone adventures. Plenty of room to spread out, even with two big families. The owners are very accommodating and the house had everything we needed. Elk in the yard several mornings, some great local hikes, and of course right on the river. We'll be back!

Thanks for your kind words ! We are glad you had a good trip and hope to see you again! It was very nice to meet your families and as with most of our groups, thank you for leaving things in such good shape. We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you again! Thank you-John and Dru
The home and the views from the property are breathtaking. The cabin offers lots of space for large groups. There were some minor issues with check in and there not being grill accessories to use. The owner was friendly and eager to share information about the space and area. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone with a large group.

Thank you for staying with us and leaving the lodge so clean ! Sorry about the mix up on your check in . I did locate the barbeque tools that had been taken over to our event barn. Thanks again !
This was an incredible property for our large youth group. Dru Anne was extremely welcoming and had so many options to make our stay more positive. From the well- stocked kitchen to the plethora of towels to the rollaway beds and mats. This gave us the option we needed to have a very comfortable stay on the beautiful Yellowstone river. Incredible opportunity for all of us!
Great cabin for a large family get together. Location and setting were perfect.
Great cabin for our large fatly. We had infants to eighty year olds. Beautiful setting and location. Big open spaces for family games outside. We ate under the pavilion most nights. Lots of place settings and cookware. Dru was attentive and checked in a couple of times. We would not hesitate to recommend this place and look forward to a return.

John and I lived in the Gardiner area for 46 years, raising our family here and working in the outfitting and ranching businesses. We have 6 kids and 16 grandchildren. In 1996 we sold our outfitting business in the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness area near Gardiner and purchased a guide territory in Northern British Columbia. We spent our summers and falls in B.C. for 11 years. In 2006 we sold the guide area and purchased a ranch where we now live raising cattle and hay . We enjoy spending time with our family, hunting, taking horse pack trips. I also am a avid scrap booker and quilter. The lodge was completed in 2001. It is constructed of logs that were harvested locally by John and skidded out with our team of draft horses. They were then hand peeled by our family. We did all of the building ourselves, from pouring the concrete to putting on the roof. John and DruAnn Robidou
Why they chose this property
Our property is a great place for a family reunion, girls or guys getaway trip, any kind of craft retreat, weddings and wedding receptions . Our lodge is spacious, has a big yard and overlooks the Yellowstone River. It is a great location, only being 10 minutes from the Park entrance. We have extra tables, chairs and will do all we can to accommodate your groups needs !
What makes this property unique
Obviously our location to Yellowstone and the size of the lodge are our biggest benefits. There is also world class fishing just out the back door on the legendary Yellowstone river, along with white water rafting. The scenery is awesome, whether you are seeing it from your car, our deck , hiking some of the many trails in the area or from the back of a horse while spending the afternoon with one of the many local horseback outfitters. You have all the peace and privacy of being in the country, while also being just minutes from the parks north entrance. The layout of the lodge gives everyone their own space and privacy. However for those large groups desiring more room we have an additional lodge located just up stream on the other side of our 6 acres. We have a covered log pavillion with deck overlooking the river and large yard with room for the kids to run and play games. We have hosted numerous family reunions , weddings and receptions and craft retreats. Staying with us you will see first hand why they call Montana the 'Last Best Place'.
