Pool area is wonderful on a large canal. Great location near restaurants and a close drive to Fort Myers Beach which we love!Excited to return and check out more of the area. Host is very responsive!
We showed up to a clean environment and immediately made ourselves at home ! Pool heater worked great and our kids really enjoyed thier time in there. Water pressure was awesome for showers and plenty of room for all of us. Caught some mangrove snapper and alot of catfish at dusk. Overall a GREAT stay.

Thank you for being gracious and respectful guests and adhering to local restrictions during this global crisis.
The house was super clean and the floor plan perfect for enjoying the lanai, pool, and channel. Our host responded immediately when there was a problem with the stove and had it replaced within a short time.. The neighborhood is lovely, and we were welcomed by neighbors. We hated to leave, but are coming backwas awaswas a problem
The home had all things you would need. The pool overlooking the canal was awesome!! We rented a pontoon and docked it at the canal. You can’t use the wooden dock but you can use the sea wall .

Thanks so much for staying and taking care of my vacation home. All the best!
Me, my husband and our 6 kids plus one of their friends, ranging in age from 3-16 just spent a week here and enjoyed everything about the house. Check in was a breeze, house was well stocked and very clean, communication was easy, loved the landscaping with mangoes and coconuts. The canal in the backyard was a very peaceful area. Quite, safe neighborhood. We were able to leave beach gear and carts etc outside without worries. Plenty of seating inside and outside of the home. The absolute best part of the rental for us was the pool area. All 9 of us used it multiple times a day. We visited several area beaches and went out for some nice meals but were all perfectly content with coming back to hang out at the house and swim. There was a grill and beach gear behind the house we didn’t end up using but it was nice that they were available.
The house was extremely clean with modern (well supplied) kitchen, modern bathrooms, plenty of fresh linens, towels, new washer, dryer. Everything that we needed to spend two months (January and February) was there. We have spent the last several winters in Florida and have many favorite parks, nature reserves, towns that we like to visit. All were reachable within a reasonable drive. The heated pool was heavenly and we swam almost every day. The lanai was in wonderful condition. No problems walking barefoot. Lawn service and pool service came every week. Carol, our hostess, was very kind and accommodating. She replied instantly to our every question and we had no complaints. We give the property and our experience an A+.The one black mark that we give is to the city of Cape Coral. The house is located in a nice residential neighborhood but very close to a busy main (6 lane) street. This street is very commercial with lots of strip malls. As gulf towns go, Cape Coral has little charm but has plenty of nice restaurants, a big farmer’s market on Saturday and fairly easy access to the gulf beaches, parks, and other attractions.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. You were much appreciated guests and made the renting experience a pleasure. The lanai surrounding the pool was replaced in the fall, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Many thanks, Carol

Not what we hoped for.
It was a rocky start to our month long stay At Carols (owner) rental home. We arrived to many problems, broken bottles and garbage on the lawn, overgrown landscape, broken door locks etc. The seawall area was moldy, there is a dock with boards missing, and a moldy old boat on the boat lift. Inside the older home has been updated and has some nice improvements. The home is located 2 houses from a busy street so you will hear an occasional car stereo, and loud mufflers, when outside. To Carols credit she did have some of these these things fixed while we were there. Here is what remains. The pool surround is made of pea rock, and it has broken down and should have been replaced long ago. Bring sandals, it is like walking on broken glass. It is also filled with black mold and moss. The landscaping is a mess, not a deal breaker in of itself, but brings the property down. We have stayed at many other rentals in this area with a similar price range, and have not had any of the problems experienced here. Other reviewers have stated that the place has great potential. While that may be true, you are paying for what it is not what it could be.

This property had been occupied by a hurricane cleanup crew and unfortunately the grounds were left in very bad condition, which had not been properly cleaned up when the guest arrived.
The pool surrounding and front entrance have since been replaced with travertine interlock. New photos added.

Cape Coral Poolhouse mess
Unfortunately, what may have turned out to be a real positive experience was not. It began and ended with the property manager, Carol. She initially accused us of not having submitted full payment when in fact we had. We had to call VRBO to intervene. Somehow, she was unaware of the policy that VRBO-HomeAway holds onto the deposit and does not release those funds to the landlord. Not sure how she had been in the business and not realized this. Next, we arrived at the property to find a large amount of trash which was swarming with flies and maggots. Also, there were some old shredded car tires out by the curb. This would have been noticed if only the property had been inspected prior to us occupying it which it clearly had not. Next, the lawn wasn't mowed and was completely unkempt. Both TVs had the HDMI cables disconnected which we had to discover and fix ourselves. The front door of the property was in disrepair and we had to duct tape and perform a temporary fix in order to just shut the door. The SS Minow (a broken-down boat) was still on the boat lift outback. Someone should remove it as it will never be seaworthy again and is an eyesore. I could go on and on however, you get the picture. It's a shame because the property has a lot of potentials and fortunately we are resilient and made due and even had a good time. We have rented in many other places and many other occasions and have never had to deal with the level of incompetence we saw here. We always leave properties clean and do our best to help leave the properties as they were when we arrived. My advice to any prospective renter would beware of any other property rented by Carol as you will not get what she has advertised. My advice to Carol would be to not try to blame all the issues on the previous renters. That should not be and is not my problem, it's yours. Do your job and inspect the properties prior to renting them out or find another line of work. 1 star out of 5 and only because we made due and had fun anyway.
We stayed at this lovely home for a few days while in Ft. Myers and it was better than expected. First off the neighborhood was quiet & safe. The house was spacious and the pool was big enough for kids to enjoy themselves during their off time.
Enjoyed this property. Had 6 adults staying. The owner was available for questions and responded well to maintenance questions. Outside pool area was great. One one main bathroom and another in a laundry room area. Wish there had been another proper bathroom. The house was very close to a busy road , making traffic pretty challenging at times. This did make it great for accessing restaurants etc. The place was very clean, but could use a little TLC to bring it up to its full potential. All in all, spacious and fun for a group of no more than 6.
We stayed 4 weeks and enjoyed every minute. Really nice house, plenty of room and amenities. Great views of canal, close to everything. Would definitely stay again!
The house was very nice. Much of the pool was in the shade though. Probably due to the time of the year. Very nice accommodations. Suggest having a blue tooth speaker on hand for music by the pool.
We love staying here. The pool is so nice, we love the area, it's such a relaxing vacation. We really enjoy this house, it could use some updates in the kitchen. Needs new pots and pans and a better grill. The pool area specifically the loosestones and moss etc around the pool could use fixing, but overall the house is great for what we use it for. We would definitely stay again
