About this property
Secluded, lovely stone country house.
Os Salgueiros (the willows in Galician) is a lovely stone country cottage situated in an oasis of green.
Placed at the end of a lane, at the the foot of the forest of Mount Covelo, surrounded only by vines, with views of the sea, this is the perfect holiday hide away. The cottage gives you the feeling of being in the middle of no where, yet is only minutes from the village of Samieira with bars, restaurant and a shop, Combarro is 5 mins, Raxó 10 mins, Sanxenxo 15 mins and the wonderful city of Pontevedra only 15 mins.
There are two lovely beaches within walking distance situated on a quiet no through road where you will find a restaurant and tapas bar. There is also a boardwalk from the harbour wall that takes you to yet more beaches.
The cottage is situated right on the edge of the forest and a stroll in the early morning or evening is not to be missed, there are also many paths that climb the mountain and offer views of the Ria De Pontevedra and the Atlantic Ocean at its most beautiful. If you are a serious walker there are miles to explore.
The cottage has a large farm house kitchen, lounge, with wood burner, conseravatory, three bedrooms (sleeps 6), and 2 bathrooms. The beautiful garden backs right onto the forest and is filled with fruit trees - lemons for your gin and tonic, oranges for breakfast. The are two sun terraces to the front and a large covered bbq area.
There is parking for two cars. Pets are welcome and the forest is perfect for walking the dog.

Why they chose this property
Galicia has become much more accessible with flights to Galicia with Ryanair, Easy Jet and Vueling, you can leave home in the morning and be eating tapas by lunchtime!
Holidays in Galicia, unlike the rest of Spain, are relatively new, so be sure to bring your phrase book, but to the Spanish it has been a very well kept secret, with beautiful beaches, historic towns and wonderful green countryside, it´s no wonder that this is where the Spanish choose to spend their holidays.
Pontevedra has its own micro-climate - warm all year and much drier than further north, so it's definitely not just a summer destination, it's perfect for holidays and short breaks all year round too.
Food in Galicia comes mainly from the sea, with wonderful fresh mussels, crab, squid and not forgetting what Galicia is famous for, pulpo (octopus drizzled in olive oil and sea salt) you have to try it!
