Villa Benedetta is located in Garfagnana, a very ancient geographical region of Tuscany rich in traditions. It was erected in 1636 and has hosted the noble Este family, in particular the Duke of Modena Francesco IV D Este who lodged there for hunting. The apartments have been created within the very suggestive villa whose stone loggia, loggia, immediately transports the visitor into an ancient atmosphere. The position of the building dominates the valley. Exposed to the south / east it enjoys sunlight for most of the day. The front garden, and the beautiful swimming pool with sun loungers and deckchairs, allow you to rest in full relaxation. While, the ancient stone source with its spring water will help to brighten your permanence. The environment is particularly suitable for children too. Relevant to the villa there is the ancient family oratory which, upon request, can be visited as other parts of the building.

The "Casa Olga" apartment consists of a double bedroom with a single sofa bed, a living room with a double sofa bed, a kitchen and a private bathroom.

A Villa in the Beautiful Mountains

Paolo is the best of hosts. He loves his family Villa and loves to share the history of his family and this amazing Villa with you. He makes sure to provide for your needs and comfort. The location is a beautiful place with stunning views. It is close to do day trips to Barga, Lucca, Pisa and Florence. We enjoyed our stay so much!

The house is very old and traditional. You go down some steps to reach your garden and up the steps to the swimmingpool area with nice beds, umbrellas, tabels and chairs and a picknick table. This was our favourite spot and the view of the surrounding mountains is fabulous. Paolo was a wonderful host and made us pizzas in his oven.

We loved staying at paolo's place. Villa benedetta has been lovingly prepared with a lot of heart and passion. this is mainly thanks to the wonderful host paolo, who makes this wonderful place in the mountains something very special with his hospitality and attentive nature. Once a week Paolo prepares pizza for his guests in the in-house pizza oven and is always happy to give an insight into the history of the house and his family. if you want to see it, you can also look at the family's own chapel with him. The property around the villa is lovingly cared for and allows you to relax. The spectacular view is worth every meter of the rather adventurous drive up the mountain. We warmly recommend Paolo and his house and we are sure - we see you again

Wir haben hier in diesem wunderbaren Ambiente einen tollen Urlaub genossen. Wer die Ruhe sucht ist hier genau richtig. Die Kinder waren so begeistert vom Pool, dass wir letztendlich weniger Ausflüge gemacht haben als geplant. Paolo ist ein liebenswürdiger Gastgeber der sich sehr um seine Gäste bemüht. Köstlich seine selbstgemachte Pizza und Bomboloni. Nochmals vielen Dank dafür!

Traumtage im Gebirge an einem einmaligen Ort

Die Villa Benedetta liegt wunderschön am bergseitigen Rand des kleinen Dorfes Sillicano weit oberhalb des größeren Ortes Castelnouvo di Gerfagnana. Der Blick ist atemberaubend. Die Wohnungen sind alle sehr urig aber bestens und sehr liebevoll ausgestattet. Ebenso war alles sehr sauber. Der wunderbar saubere Pool liegt etwas oberhalb des Hauses, so dass man auch von hier aus eine herrliche Aussicht auf den Appenin hat. Neben Liegestühlen und Sonnenschirmen ist hier ebenfalls eine überdachte Sitzgelegenheit und ein toller Außengrill vorhanden. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts! Im Dorf gibt es einen kleinen Laden. Hier gibt es tatsächlich nahezu alles, was zum Leben nötig ist. Außergewöhnlich ist auch der Vermieter Paolo. Von seiner Offenherzigkeit erinnerte er mich etwas an Roberto Benigni in „Das Leben ist schön“. Er ist ein so herzlicher und lebensfroher Mensch, dass man von seiner guten Laune einfach angesteckt werden muss! Er war stets bei Fragen oder sonstigen Belangen zur Stelle und immer äußerst hilfsbereit. An einem Abend hat er für alle Mieter in einem alten, tollen Steinofen Pizza für uns gemacht: es war wirklich die beste Pizza, die ich je in meinem Leben gegessen habe! Summa summarum: ein Kleinod im Gebirge in dem man Ruhe findet, von wo aus man tolle Ausflüge machen kann und in dem man liebevoll aber ohne jegliche Aufdringlichkeit umsorgt wird!

Bellissimo

Wir waren im Mai 2023 in der Villa Benedetta. Auch wenn das Wetter nicht so charmant war, umso charmanter war unsere Unterkunft und erst recht unser Gastgeber Paolo. Wir wurden in mittelalterlicher Kulisse verwöhnt mit selbst gemachter Pizza und italienischem Apfelkuchen. Die Unterkunft befindet sich in einem sehr ruhigen Bergdorf und wer die Ruhe sucht, ist dort genau richtig. Wir können die Villa Benedetta einfach nur weiter empfehlen.

Exceptional and very friendly

The VILLA BENEDETTA, Casa Olga is an old castle-like building with a very breath-taking view over the Sillicano and Castelnuovo area. Even though it seems rather venerable it is super child-friendly, not just because of the swimming pool. Paolo, the host, is super friendly and supportive, and always open for chats and stories. Moreover, we had the honor to try Paolo's home-made pizza -- something he arranged for all the guests and for free. Overall it felt like being more than "just" a guest and we are looking back to a great vacation time in Paolo's castle. :-)

Wunderbare Garfagnana

Wir haben sehr erholsame zwei Wochen bei Paolo in Sillicano genossen. Weil das Haus, das Dörfchen und vor allem der Pool so schön war, haben wir wesentlich weniger als geplant unternommen und stattdessen unsere Zeit auf dem Anwesen genossen. Wo gibt es schon frisches Bergwuellwasser hinter dem Haus, Lorbeerblätter und Lavendel im Garten? Paolo hat zweimal köstliche Pizza im hauseigenen Steinofen für alle Feriengäste zubereitet.

A superb choice

What a wonderfull place! The old characteristic house, the beatiful pool and, most of all, the very kind owner Paolo. This is Paradise. The house is on a hill in a tiny sleepy village with a small shop for essentials. The town is a 5 to 10 minute drive down the hill. To have dinner on the porch or balcony, overlooking the valley, to see the moon come up. If you like a quiet peaceful stay, it does not get any better than this.

een mooie vakantie in een authentieke omgeving

Villa Benedetta is een authentieke Toscaanse villa gelegen in het hart van de Garfagnana, het minder bekende Toscane, gelegen tegen de helling van de Alpi Apuane. De streek heeft dan wel niet de toeristische trekpleisters zoals San Gimignano, Volterra, Firenze…. Maar kent toch wel enkele architectonische pareltjes zoals Castiglione del Garfagnana, Castelnuovo, Barga, … en natuurlijk niet te vergeten Lucca. Voor diegene die houden van het authentieke Toscane, de natuur, wandelingen in de bergen, uitstap naar Carrara, Forte dei Marmi, Viareggio stad van de carnaval, Cinque Terre is Villa Benedetta te Sillicano een goede uitvalbasis. Bij aankomst in Sillicano domineert deze imponente villa het gehuchtje. Je laat dan ook beter de wagen achter op de “piazza”, om dan via een steile baan de villa te bereiken. Wat de bagage betreft moet u zich geen zorgen maken. Paolo gastheer en tevens eigenaar, haalt deze met zijn wagen op en bij vertrek brengt hij de bagage tot aan de wagen. In deze robuuste villa zijn 4 appartementen onder gebracht, elk met zijn eigenheid en rekening houdend met het historisch karakter van de woonst. Je moet maar vragen aan de Paolo naar de familie geschiedenis van de villa en hij zal daar met veel anima en passie over verhalen. Er is ook een privékapel aan de villa verbonden waar enkele van zijn voorouders begraven liggen. Via een trap naast de villa bereik je het hoger gelegen tuingedeelte van waar men een prachtig uitzicht heeft over de omgeving. Hier bevindt zich ook een uitnodigend zwembad met de nodige ligstoelen. Terras en grote barbecue. Het is hier zalig vertoeven op een warme dag met een glaasje en een goed boek, enkel het geluid van een verre tractor en ergens een “nonna” die haar kleinkind vermaant, verstoren de namiddagse stilte. Het zwembad wordt iedere ochtend door Paolo zorgvuldig gereinigd en gecontroleerd. Bij problemen of vragen kan je altijd bij deze charmante gastheer terecht en op vraag maakt hij ook een plaatselijk gerecht klaar. Het is dan ook om al die redenen dat we onze vakantie hier al meerdere malen hebben doorgebracht.

Prachtige authentieke villa met goede faciliteiten

Prachtige authentieke villa, gebouwd in 1600. Wij verbleven in appartement Olga dat een prachtige antieke inrichting heeft met een ouderwets Italiaanse keuken met de mogelijkheid tot een open vuur om op te koken. Gelegen in niet erg toeristisch deel van Toscane maar met prachtige oude dorpjes als Barga. Vanuit Camporgiano is het ongeveer 50 minuten rijden naar het strand of naar Cinque Terre. Er is overigens een prachtige zwembad en een mooie gemetselde barbeque aanwezig, dat het verblijf zeer aangenaam maakt. Paolo de eigenaar is zeer aardig en zeer behulpzaam. Vraag hem eens om de familiekerk te tonen. Heeft hij een zeer mooi verhaal over.

10 Tage in der Casa Olga

Wir verbrachten 10 Tage in der wunderschönen, großzügigen und sehr gepflegten Villa Benedetta mit anspruchsvollem z.T. antiken Inventar und diversen Fresken. Das Haus besticht durch seine „hervorgehobene Lage“ (ca. 700 Meter Höhe) in den Apuanischen Alpen mit Poolterrasse und faszinierendem Blick in das Serchio-Tal und zu dem gegenüber liegenden Apennin. In Paolo hatten wir einen ausgesprochen freundlichen und in allen Fragen immer hilfsbereiten Vermieter, der Sie nach Bedarf auch mit regionalen Spezialitäten bekocht (sehr schmackhaft, reichlich und preiswert!). Die Lage des Hauses ist ideal zum Relaxen, für Tagesfahrten in die nähere Toscana (Lucca, Pisa usw.), nach Cinque Terre, sowie für vielfältige Wanderungen mit herrlichen Ausblicken in der benachbarten Gebirgsregion. Ein Auto ist hier jedoch unerlässlich!

Il " cliente" e la "sua vacanza trascorsa in pace, relax ed armonia con i luoghi e gli altri ospiti della Villa", costituiscono il punto fondamentale del lavoro mio e della mia famiglia. Verissimo la Villa è artisticamente imponente ed importante a livello architettonico, cosi' pure sono completi i servizi che Vi si offrono all'interno, ma cosa fondamentale ripeto è la vacanza bella, ed onestamente questo è il nostro obiettivo. L'amicizia che spesso nasce tra la proprieta' e gli ospiti, è un'altro fenomeno importante che fa si' che i nostri "amici" confermino anche piu' di una volta il loro periodo di vacanza, diventando un appuntamento tra vecchi amici, cosa che ci riempie il cuore e gli animi. La villa est splendide. Propre, bien entretenue, décoration soignée. On se sent presque emporté dans un autre temps (du point de vue esthétique). Le propriétaire, très sympathique, entretient une ambiance chaleureuse. Il ne faut pas hésiter à investir les lieux communs : piscine (évidemmment), mais aussi séjour, balcon, jardins et source. La villa n'est pas directement accessible aux voitures. Donc ne pas s'encombrer des bagages en arrivant, le propriétaire se charge de leur voyage jusqu'à la villa (5 mn à pied mais en pente assez raide...). Idem en partant. Pas très loin : Pise et Lucca notamment (qui demandent plusieurs visites à elles seules). Le village est quand même un peu paumé : pour les ballades et visites, il ne faut donc pas rechigner à passer un peu de temps en transport sur des routes parfois sinueuses. Mais "le jeu en vaut la chandelle". Bon rapport qualité/prix. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et engrangé de beaux souvenirs. Famille POIRIER-JULOU .

sehr zu empfehlen

Sehr schön gelegenes authentisch restauriertes altes Landgut in einer sehr ruhigen, ländlichen Lage mit einer unglaublichen Aussicht auf das Serchio-Tal. Appartment liebevoll eingerichtet und Komplett ausgestattet. Verpflegung (auf Wunsch kurzfristig bestellbar) preiswert, reichhaltig und gut. Sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Vermieter. Großzügige Gartenanlage mit eigener Mineralwasserquelle und gepflegtem Pool.
