This apartment is our Go To place to stay when visiting Burlington. No complaints at all. The neighborhood islovely, and it's location is just a few minutes from the downtown and the lake.
This property was exactly as advertised-great location, extremely clean and cozy. Dori was excellent with providing info about Burlington and things to do in and around the area. We enjoyed our stay will stay again.

Cute place on a quiet street. Very walkable. 10-15 min walk from the waterfront and 20-25 min walk to the middle of downtown Burlington. Would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our weekend at the carriage house. It was the perfect size for the two of us, very comfortable, nicely appointed inside. Nice quiet neighborhood and the owner was very responsive.
I came here to spend Christmas with my daughter and we had a wonderful. The space is beautifully renovated with plenty of room and a nice kitchen to make Christmas dinner. The location is great - close to downtown and right near some athletic parks where the dogs enjoyed playing. We hope to come back.

This was an excellent property. It was clean and everything we needed for our 3 night stay was available and more, if we needed it. Dori is a wonderful host. It was a pleasant setting and fairly quiet. It is within walking distance of parks and lake. I highly recommend!

Downstairs unit was clean, comfortable, well stocked, private neighborhood, close to town and lake. Owner in front house for any help. Upstairs unit was very nice, little bigger than downstairs with nice screen porch and bigger kitchen.
Normally we don’t need to worry about a place to stay when in Burlington as my sister and her husband live here, but they’ve been doing renovations, so their extra room was otherwise occupied for this visit. I couldn’t believe we found this wonderful little place literally right around the corner! It was the perfect size for my husband and me, with everything g we needed for a comfortable stay (including the super-comfy bed). The Five Sisters neighborhood is such a great place to be - walkable to everything - and the guest house was tucked back on the property and nice and quiet. If we ever need a spot to stay here again, I would stay here in a heartbeat!
Carriage House was the best location! The neighborhood was so beautiful. We easily and safely walked to the Marketplace and Island Line Trail.
The house itself had every amenity you could possibly need. The property manager made our stay very comfortable.
Once again we leave Burlington loving the people and the city more than before! Can't wait to come back!
I could not have had a smoother, more pleasant, or stress,-free stay. Dori was a wonderful host who was easy to get a hold of, did everything she could to make my stay perfect, and continuously went above and beyond what I would expect from a host. The unit I stayed in was clean, comfy, and had everything I needed for a month-long trip. The location was also fantastic and even in the cold of February, I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood to all of the nearby places I could explore. I look forward to coming back and staying here again.
Apartment has nice layout and close to Burlington by car, 10 minutes. The unit is pet friendly and it does show. Really our fault for not checking on the listing.

Ty for coming ! Burlington downtown is about a mile and a half -less than five min by car . 15 minute walk but traffic can be 10 min when they are repairing Pine street, as they are these days . Best to take an alternate road. Route 7 is best to Main street.
The carriage house was perfect for me. I had everything I needed and it is very charming. Location is on a nice quiet street with a park at the end, in very easy walking distance. My dog loved it! The whole South End area is very walkable and has lots to offer - lakefront, lots of good food, coffee shops, etc. Dori was a great hostess - gave me my privacy but was always responsive if something came up. Highly recommend!

These guests we’re lovely. i’ve never had a three for a review in the seven years I’ve been doing vrbo. I’m disappointed they were not as happy as I would have liked. ☺️
Great location and nice place. Only issues we encountered was noise from the upstairs rental unit and insufficient window coverings in the bedroom. They were not able to block enough morning light. We ultimately rigged up towels to cover the windows. Fortunately there were plenty of those
Kitchen door not secure. Bedroom door doesn’t fully clear the bed. Shower hot water not consistent. Could use a better nonstick fry pan eggs stuck badly. May have a can of Pam available.
The place was clean and comfortable

Left early
There was a mix up during check in. We understood that it was resoved with the landlord (we actually got an email stating that). The following evening we returned after dinner and realized that all our private things had been moved from our appartment to another one without our consent. We left immediately and went into a hotel. Draw your own conclusions.
We stayed for 12 nights in early August 2019. The house was exactly as described and was clean and had everything we could have needed or wanted. The location is fantastic in a nice neighborhood of quiet homes, right down the block from a huge park, but on a street that dead ends on both ends, so virtually no through traffic. Everything was clean, neat, and homey. We were really comfortable and have nothing but good things to say.
And Dori is fantastic!! I was really amazed at her responsiveness while making the reservation and with a few questions we had between the time we reserved and our trip. I don't think it ever took more than an hour to hear back from her. And during our stay, she was helpful and attentive, but it never felt like she was intruding. Really, the perfect balance!!
I guess the best measure of any place is "would you go there again?" and the answer to that is a definite YES!
I hope this review doesn't make the price go up or make the place so popular that we can't get it the next time we want to go back to Vermont!! LOL

Wow! what a wonderful review . I can’t thank you enough and believe me the feelings are mutual. I can’t wait until you all can come back again 🤗, it was my pleasure to host. People often ask me “is it worth all the work?”. My response, “when you have guests like these it’s such fun for me. I get to meet such easy going interesting people. Yeah, totally with it!”

First stay here
It went well until the end. The owner was very aggressive with me after I checked out. Had not conversed with them prior. She accused me of having more guests than allowed. Able to sleep 3. Not true. My son and I stayed. My daughter lives around the corner and she came by to see the space. She was angry about my dogs despite listing saying the place was dog friendly. I apologized for my oversight not checking the boxes upon rental to say how many people and presence of dogs. Told her if she needed to charge me for extra person and dogs to do so. Complained about use of 3 sets is sheets. Explained I took off sheets on pull out and used another set bc the original set did not look fresh. Anyway she txtd me and told me she never wanted to have me rent again. Quote “ don’t come back”. Unfortunate - I have never had any interaction like this prior and hope I never do again. I’m 58 and just wanted to visit my daughter for her bday. Woman said she just started renting I think she doesn’t have the temperament for this. No hard feelings just bummed bc it was reasonable and close to my daughter. I think these rental places should not be allowed to charge for extra person if the amount of people do not exceed number place can sleep. But that is just my opinion. Feel bad how it went.

Hmm .. well , this review is just not true . Personally, I was surprised that her rental agreement stated she was to have one person and no pets . She actually had a son stay with two dogs and possibly another person. The cleaners and I were unaware.
Unfortunately all the sheets (3 sets) were used. The two dogs eliminated on the lawn (which i don’t allow as the acidity kills the grass) and no pick up was done. This was not expected for the staff and they stepped in a pile on the way to the trash containers. There are directions for dog elimination they were not informed of because I was unaware. I accept animals that I am aware of and approve due to age and behavior history.
It is requested that guests pick up dog elimination and that this task is not left for the cleaning staff.
I certainly didn’t charge her extra money. I asked her initially but it for the pet clean up and the amount of sheets. The cleaners charged me an extra hour so they could get the unit ready (due to extra laundry) for the next guests, and for pet clean up. But I withdrew the request and absorbed the extra fee. Arguing with her about the rule following was not something i was interested in after the fact.
When i called her to ask about the son and dogs and the extra time for cleaning she was was very short interrupting me stating “do what you have to do” . I was not able to explain the reasons.
Yes, I was not pleased with the lack of rule following and non-disclosure. My cleaning staff were not prepared to have no sheets for the change over in a short amount of time
and the dog messes in the yard.
I informed her that there are rules for Pets that I tell guests when they bring them . I never had this opportunity with her. All guests are usually very respectful when they know the rules. I’ve never had people arrive without informing me of the number in their party or if they have pets.
I would have no problem renting to this group as long as they tell me up front what the numbers are and describe the pets so i can approve them. This has never been a problem before.
I have frequent guests and the demand on my cleaners is heavy. We much consider them on all counts to be respectful and following the rental rules are much appreciated.

Hello my name is Dori. As the owner and operator I am happy to welcome you. My day job a Nurse Practitioner in private practice. My interests are recreational golf or skiing with my sons if at all possible, art, music, and walking the very active small dog you will meet named Jack. I occasionally bike to work from the main house which is less than a mile and along the bike path. The carriage house has two units with private entrances and private bath. Each has a single bedroom with sleeping couche or blow-up bed if needed.
Why they chose this property
Because it is in the coolest neighborhood in town. Just a short walk to beautiful Lake Champlain, busy cafes, wonderful restaurants and world class breweries. The South End Lower Hill Section is Burlington's most vibrant neighborhood with beautiful original homes, historic architecture, lovely city parks, a lively art scene and shopping options.
What makes this property unique
Both quiet and historic with cute well maintained houses walking distance without the noise of the city or student life of upper hill section. Walk to everything downtown and only a couple of blocks to the lake and bike path.
