Blue Gum Retreat is a very special place. We have had the most beautiful time here for Father’s Day weekend. Every detail of this mini break was perfect and we never wanted to leave! We are so grateful to have been able to enjoy this gorgeous home and property as-well as a day exploring Dorrigo National park and popping in town for cafes and interesting boutiques! We will definitely be coming back again soon!
A true retreat indeed. We thoroughly enjoyed the location, cosy fire, amazing views, homely furnishings, games, musical instruments and books and hope to return again soon!
This house is situated with stunning views of Dorrigo Mountains. It was extremely comfortable for our two families, and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the artistically decorated rooms, or playing soccer on the lawn, after a day of hiking. The star gazing was a special bonus too.
The place is great for family and friends to enjoy together. Loved that there was a Piano and guitar. The host is very communicative and helpful. Highly recommended.
We all had such a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying each others company in a beautiful home in a fabulous location.
We are planning our next stay as we loved it so much. Thankyou Alison
This property is located in a picturesque spot by the lake with abundant bird life and absolute peace. The kitchen was lovely, as were the bathrooms and toasty heated floors. We tend to have high expectations of places and this one did not disappoint. Thanks for a relaxing stay.

Hi Tara we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your review. Just to clarify for readers regarding the ‘lake’ - the house is by the mountain with a watercourse running along one side of the property. Swimming holes are just a walk or cycle away. We look forward to welcoming you again.
My family and I feel totally rejuvenated after our 5 days at this gorgeous Blue Gum Retreat. Waking up to the sounds of birds coupled with the homely comfort gave us all a sense of deep peace. Everything was there that we needed along with fabulous attention to detail. We felt so "at home".

We are so glad you enjoyed Blue Gum Retreat. We have now built a beautiful Pizza oven amongst the trees - we hope you can return to try it out
This was a great house to catch up with extended family with plenty of communal rooms to relax in and lovely outdoor areas. Master bedroom was at the other end of the hpouse to the other 2 bedrooms so we khad a sense of space.
Kitchen was well equiped with a short drive into Bellingen for supplies and pubs.
The house is close to river swimming spots.
We really enjoyed our stay!

So glad you had a great stay Suzanne - just for readers viewing this review, there are actually 4 bedrooms in total , not three. Hope you and your family can visit again Suzanne!
We had the best time at the property. We are a super busy family for five, and we came for three nights and did not leave the property. It was such a nice time to disconnect. Its super private and you have the outdoor fireplace, two indoor fireplaces and heating in the bathroom floors.
There's a table tennis table and all the facilities you need for a family. We loved our stay here and didn't want to leave. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Blue Gum Retreat was perfect for a week away with friends. The house was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped for our group of 7.
We all loved sitting outside just looking at the view and relaxing in the peaceful surroundings.
We made use of the pizza oven, the fire pit and the ping pong table.
It's the perfect place to unwind and stay put or explore the many beautiful local areas.
We didn't want to leave.
Alison was delightful and very helpful. Highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back.
A spacious, comfy and well designed garden and house with a knock out view in a perfect location.
We had a lot of fun at Blue Gum Retreat. We relaxed, read, listened to music, slept well and had fun together at the house and the surrounding area. We ate at home alot because of the fantastic views of the valley and mountains and outside furniture. Lawn games were fun on the lawn like bocce or Kubb. We also cooled off at the nearby Never Never Creek or a surf at at Hungry Head, a bush walk, or the awesome shops and cafes at Bellingen. We will be back!
This place is one of the nicest VRBO homes we have stayed at. It sits on a large piece of land away from everyone.
My grandsons loved riding their bikes up and down the mowed hills. The inside of the home is large and interior is mostly wood. Nice kitchen with all the extras. Great beds - fireplace, wood stove, and so much more. Kids have plenty to do there too. Super internet (Starlink)
I can't say enough good about this place and if I come back to Australia would book it again.
Can't fault it. The location is spectacular, beds super-comfortable with beautifully laundered white bed linen , the kitchen well furnished with everything you could possibly imagine, and there's space to get away from people if you felt the need (we didn't !).
The outdoor furniture was also lovely and comfortable and endless hours were spent looking out at the magnificent view.
There was a power outage (nothing to do with the property) and Alison was quick to respond with instructions on what to do.
I loved it - what more can I say
A great house with four very comfy beds/bedrooms, stunning wood features and beautiful floors…. We were cozy on the huge lounge in front of the fireplace. The view from the outdoor table or the firepit chairs is just so gorgeous and peaceful…. Already planning another trip with our husbands so we get to use the outdoor pizza oven and table tennis table and the trampoline that we didn’t have time for this trip!Great vege garden (they ARE chillies, not baby capsicum ) and orchard we were encouraged to help ourselves to.I can imagine it would be a lovely cool oasis in the summer, and its a nice walk down to the NeverNever creek. Alison was really responsive to any questions

Dangerous driveway entry
Two of our vehicles went into the deep unmarked ditch at the driveway entry onto the road, one sustaining significant front end damage. It is very hard to see when coming from Gleniffer hall and has no header wall or marker on it, so be careful. The house is pleasant and the outlook very relaxing. We got there late afternoon with a bridal party needing to get ready quickly for a pre-wedding dinner only to find there was no hot water. After a phone call to the manager we were able to switch the booster on and get some hot water a few hours later.

Thank you for your review Bruce. I have already discussed the driveway matter between yourself and Bellingen Council and as you have told me, you will be submitting an insurance claim for the alleged damage to your cars. No-one else has missed the driveway and I have been renting the property to very happy holiday makers since 2008. it is also noted that this incident occurred after the bridal party had been making preparations that afternoon at Gleniffer Hall for your son's wedding the next day. With regards to the hot water, it is unfortunate that the solar heating had not worked as it was overcast that day. Luckily there is a hot water booster that can rectify this and again it is unfortunate that you did not see the clear signs in the house that explained this. The booster works quickly in about 30 minutes.
Very well equipped house in a beautiful setting, it had everything we needed for a long weekend stay while we attended a wedding at the nearby hall. Very comfortable beds, very tranquil setting, everything worked perfectly. Thank you Alison for a lovely stay.
This was a perfect escape for our family holiday of 8 adults -loads of room ,amazing views, toasty warm fireplaces, and underfloor heating in the bathrooms were wonderful! The house and property is beautiful, and everything has been thought of for a delightful stay. We loved it!!
