Great alternative to a hotel

We came to town for my son’s football game. This house was perfect for our family. It is convenient to Austin Peay and the cute downtown area. It was nice to have space and 2 bathrooms. The owners have created an adorable place!

We do our best with the upkeep but with the home being in the woods slightly it’s unavoidable. We made sure The home was sanitized and very clean when you arrived. We’d have hoped that you’d take responsibility for the damage caused by the dog you brought with you. It’s also Unfortunate that you seemed to have a great trip until confronted with the repair fee for the damaged your pet caused. Somewhat Disappointing

5 cup coffee pot and the property sleeps 8. Also only 4 coffe mugs. Inadequate amount of silverwear. No skillet to fry bacon. No colander for noodles. Stove dirty looking. Light over sink falling and exposed wiring. Very small camping type grill and sits on table or ground. Expectations are to pick up after your pet but leaves everywhere and not cleaned up made it very hard to do so. We did pick up though. Only one hand towel for two bedrooms and one bath towel for 3 night stay. One kitchen towel and dish rag. Inadequate amount of towels. TVs were good. Showers were fine. Bedrooms were good size. Master had bathroom, nice. ..

We will address and inspect the items you’ve brought up and ensure our performance is consistent with our standards for future guests. Many of your concerns could have been resolved upon checkin . We ask that all guests communicate with us upon arrival to avoid disappointment through small things forgotten by a cleaner or misplaced by a previous guest. There are additional spare linens for all the bedrooms in the linen closet, and a skillet or colander for noodles could have been provided had you communicated with us. As for the leaves on the ground. We have a leaf service, however they come out continuously until all the leaves have fallen from the trees. We apologize for the inconvenience of cleaning up after your pet. Blessings and we wish you well. Thank you for holding us accountable and giving us a chance to be better

No hand towels, uncomfortable beds, & last minute check out instructions

The host contacted me a few weeks prior to our trip to offer an upgrade to one of their larger houses. This review is specifically regarding their property that they've named The Alpha. The reservation remained linked to the property that was originally booked. The biggest complaint is that there was no book/binder in the house with instructions for what needs to be done around the house before checkout. Instead, the host texted me the list of items to be done at 7pm the night before checkout. By that point, we had already planned out our final day of our trip & had to re-work plans in order to accommodate this unexpected request from the host. Our group is no stranger to VRBO rentals & every other rental has had this type of book & checkout instructions were also communicated upon check-in. There were no hand towels in any of the 3 bathrooms, nor were there any extra rolls of toilet paper or paper towels. The beds were not comfy as a general consensus amongst 4 adults. The mattresses were too firm to the point that we all woke up stiff & sore. Each bed had two, rather small, flat pillows & decorative pillows. The sheets also were not comfortable. They weren't very soft, a tad on the scratchy side, & did not breathe well. While we did not use the game room during our stay, I could see kids having an incredible time playing games in there. The LEDs in the game room were a neat touch.

Krysten we are very sorry for the minor inconveniences you had hit made you very aware of the situation that was uncontrollable on our part for your stay. This is the reason we upgraded you all to a property that had 1 bedroom more than the one you reserved and was an additional 1700sqft larger with a lot more amenities. We also asked for you to make specific things aware at the beginning of your stay so that we could remedy them immediately. The towels and washcloths was something that we could’ve had handled in minutes, however you chose not to disclose even after we checked in on you all. The value of having a larger home with way more to offer should’ve been enough to accommodate you alls stay as the value was about $800 more than what you originally booked. We apologize again that it did not suit your preferences but wish you luck in the futures

Not a great value

Our stay was intended to be a quick stay while driving long distance further South so we were not looking for anything special. We had an unfortunate experience in that while we were there we purchased some food from Target and when we returned from store we placed a Target grocery sac on top of the kitchen counter. The bag was there for about 24 hours. When we left owner notified us that the red target symbol on bag transferred into the counter top and charged us a fee to reseal it. So warning to future guests, Don't place ANYTHING on kitchen counters. Owner claims the counters were sealed with epoxy 3 to 4 weeks earlier, which should have been plenty of time to cure, but they seemed tacky to the touch to us. Owner should find better counter sealing solution or this will happen again to some other unsuspecting guest. We felt owner should have taken some responsibility for dysfunctional countertops that are not suitable for placing groceries. Street is noisy at night with loud car exhausts racing away from nearby intersection stop sign and dogs next store howling outside if sirens are passing, although those are things not in owners control. House generally has everything needed for short stays and is likely ideal for those visiting nearby relative at the base, but just wasn't a good experience for us. This experience was the lowlight of our trip.

Our host was very responsive when we couldn't figure out the air conditioner and even offered to buy fans while the house cooled off. It's a great house in a very nice neighborhood, close to Ft. Campbell. Very comfortable with all the amenities. Our dogs loved the fenced in back yard too!

This house worked well for the mult generations we had staying. Surprisingly had a high chair which came in handy even tho we would have been fine without. Was nice to have.. and the Nintendo was a huge hit with my son. Less than a minute from the person we were there to visit with which is hard to find for that neighborhood. Overall worked great for our visit and purpose.
