Bear Cub cabin is located in the beautiful Leatherwood Mountains resort community, only 30 minutes from Boone. This cabin is perfect for a romantic get-a-way or a family vacation. Very nice relaxing weekend. The view from the deck is spectacular.Plenty of comfortable seating. Also a great place to enjoy morning coffee or drinks in the afternoon. All in all if you're looking for a quiet getaway this is your place.

We felt we were on the edge of the earth. This charming and very clean home had everything we needed for a peaceful get-a-away. The hot tub, porches, and Indonesian day bed helped us to fully enjoy nature's beauty.

The location and views made this stay exceptional. The cabin faces the western sky, so the sunsets were like art. Absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect and comfortable, especially after such a hot summer. The cabin is remote which is exactly what we wanted. The closest store is about 20-30 minutes away so be sure to plan accordingly. The kitchen was well stocked, but be sure to bring your toiletries such as soap, shampoo and conditioner. Although we did not use the hot tub, it was very clean and well taken care of. The swing bed was a nice place to get lost with a good book. There are plenty of trails to explore. We saw a lot of deer and wild turkey. We had dinner at the lodge (located at the entrance of the property) one night and enjoyed chatting with the locals and other visitors. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience.

Omg this is a hidden gem! This was actually the second time we stayed but didn’t realize when we scheduled because of the upgrades. We stayed three years ago and love it .. the updated patio hot tub and OMG! The swinging day bed puts this property at a 12/10. The views are not exaggerated and the cabin is so well maintained and cared for. You can tell this host puts a lot of time and effort into making this get away amazing. The privacy and just total peace and quiet is not exaggerated either. You cannot hear people, traffic noise or anything except birds and acorns falling this time of year. The sunset views are in incredible especially when relaxing in the gorgeous hot tub. We didn’t plan many adventures this trip because we really just wanted to unplug and relax and it was perfect. We were able to take a nice hike up the Daniel Boone Trail within a short walk from the driveway with was also so great. Strongly recommend this cabin for a couples retreat or two couples as there is plenty of space and seating that you have your own areas. Again cannot say enough about this little slice of heaven!

We have returned to this property again this year. It is one of the most peaceful, well maintained properties you will ever find in the NC mountains near Boone and Blowing Rock. The entire deck areas surrounding the house is so relaxing, from the hot tub to the swinging lounger, to the double porch swing watching the sunset. The host is an outstanding communicator, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to enjoy this home again this year. If you enjoy true silence, beautiful views, the opportunity to be at peace away from everything, yet near enough to go into Blowing Rock or Boone for groceries or a lovely lunch/dinner, you must try this house.

Pictures do not do it justice!!! The views from this cabin are absolutely unmatched!! The outside patio area with the swing bed & hot tub are the picture of relaxation!! The cabin was clean, bed comfy, couches relaxing, wifi great and also in a gated community. The drive up to the cabin is just as magical! Breathtaking beauty! Tons of deer! It was so quiet and peaceful!! A truly wonderful place to stay!

The updated deck area is what sells this place. Outdoor area and view hard to beat. However I feel the inside needs some updates, particularly the bathrooms. Would I stay again as it is..,possibly. Would I go back if updates were made to inside…absolutely. All of that being said it was a lovely stay and they really do a good job of keeping it as clean as they can. Pros and things I appreciate after staying in many mountain cabin rentals: clean, well maintained hot tub with nice jets and outdoor furniture you can actually use. Secluded. Love that cabin is not close to the road and that you can’t see another cabin. so quiet and peaceful. Sunset views from anywhere on deck are incredible. If you have a clear night stars are plentiful as there are no city lights close by. Appreciate separate towels are provided for hot tub. Great communication with owner. Washer and dryer. Comfortable king bed. Cons or recommendations: outdated garden tub shower. It’s large enough that I can envision a beautiful walk in shower in its place, move toilet and install double vanity. Close off one closet door and make walk in closet, update same type of flooring throughout house and a neutral paint color would go a long way to make this a more incredible place. Provide hair dyer and iron. To renters I would recommend visiting grocery store before arrival and arrive during daylight 1st visit as it could be tricky in dark. Some steep gravel roads in surrounding area.

Excellent communication from host and perfect cabin in the mountains for the ultimate peaceful, quiet getaway from the noise of the world! Aptly named as well, we encountered a black bear cub on our hike with the dogs. The decks here are perfect to truly enjoy the beauty of nature surrounding you.

Fantastic views with lots of seating options outside to relax and enjoy. The outdoor swinging bed was nice for afternoon naps. The deck was convenient for keeping dogs outside.We made several meals on the grill, and the kitchen was well stocked.Getting back up the driveway was a bit fun, just make sure to maintain decent speed going up it or you'll spin out.

Alyson is such a great host! My wife and I have stayed at this cabin in the past, but gifted a stay to our friends. Like is, they too had an amazing time at the cabin.
