What a wonderful accomodation! The host could not have been more helpful and everything is considered to ensure your stay is comfortable. We hosted a family camp at The Gatehouse and would highly recommend to anyone considering visiting Beechworth. The accommodation is a short stroll into town and there is so much to do and see.
We had a wonderful stay at The Gate House! From the moment we booked, the host was fantastic with communication—friendly, responsive, and incredibly helpful, which made everything smooth and stress-free.The property itself was exactly as described and even better in person. It was spotlessly clean, well presented, and clearly very well looked after. Everything we needed was there, and it felt comfortable and welcoming throughout our stay. You can tell the host really cares about making sure guests have a great experience. We truly enjoyed our time here, highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean and well-maintained place to stay, and we’re already planning to book again soon!
Christine was a fantastic host who was super responsive and couldn’t be helpful enough. The property was excellent for a large family group (including several pets), with lots of character. The bedrooms and facilities were comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay. The location was great, close to town and Sambell Lake, all easily within walking distance.

Thank you Amy for your great review. Please return with your family and pets. Cheers Christine
This was a perfect house for our large family of 15 guests. We had everything that we needed and despite the very low temperatures overnight we were comfortable and warm.
My family of adult children plus my elderly parents stayed at the Gatehouse over the Easter long weekend and had a great time. Having 6 large bedrooms was perfect for a big group and Christine was excellent to deal with.
The property was well set up for a larger group (there were 16 of us). Great location, reasonable cost, easy to find and park and excellent communication from the host. We would certainly stay at the Gatehouse again!
The property was great for our family of 8 adults & 7 kids. The early check in & late check out was very much appreciated. The location was close to town & other attractions. We all enjoyed our weekend.
Very relaxing place to stay. Warm and family friendly for all ages. Very easy to manage large numbers sharing the spaces, but also enough room for quiet time. No worries about "precious" things needing constant vigilance. Lots to do in the town and the immediate area around the Gatehouse. Fabulous walks. Highly recommended!
Property was very old but nicely maintained and clean. House was very spacious and have all the amenities. We had lot of fun.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
The host was great at communication. However, the property was very disappointing cleanliness wise. There were cobwebs in every single room, the outside table and chairs were filthy. Paint was peeling off walls and ceilings. There were issues with water pressure in one of the showers and one of the toilets was not refilling well after being flushed. This was challenging with 8 people sharing. There was dirty tissues under one of the beds in bedroom 1. No dishwasher tablets for use in the dishwasher. There were dirty coffee cups in the cupboard as well.It also would have been nice to have milk in the fridge when we arrived, so as we could have had a coffee and tea on arrival. We enjoyed our stay in Beechworth, but the accomodation just needed a very deep clean.
Had a great time here. Lovely house, beautiful surrounds. A few issues which we reported to the manager who was very helpful and responsive and appreciative of our suggestions. Would happily stay again.
Thank you Christine. The house was plenty big enough for all of us. We enjoyed the tennis courts. Lake Sambell was a hit both afternoons we were there. Gorgeous township and look forward to coming to your area again.
We were 17 people and a dog, including kids. We had a great time. We played cricket and did bbq by the lake. Everything is close by and the house is well maintained
This property suited our multi-generational family holiday perfectly - the location was lovely, the kids loved the accessibility to the bike path, basketball and tennis court, walks etc. Easy walk to and from town, historically interesting home, and our hosts were lovely. Thank you Christine.
We needed some time to enjoy with family and friends following the hectic schedules leading into the Christmas holidays and found the perfect place at The Gatehouse, Beechworth. The booking process was easy and the lodging was very cozy, clean and comfortable. The surroundings and the town captivated us where there was a sense of adventure and mystique.
