Just right

We spent 2 weeks here in July 2022. Overall a very positive experience. House is modern with contemporary furniture. Very well equipped kitchen. House is air conditioned which was essential during the recent heat wave. Bedrooms and bathrooms configuration was a little convoluted but they served their purpose. There is an extra 6th bedroom in a back yard, sort of a cabana, that was also air conditioned and was comfortable although you need to use the poolside toilet and shower. The highlight of this house is the backyard and pool. It’s spacious and there is a super outdoor kitchen which we also used. The other highlight is the owner Tod. He is a lovely guy and was always available to help make our visit as smooth as possible. The house is in a good neighborhood and a short drive to shopping (we frequented the LeClerc hyper market almost every day). About 15m to downtown Cannes and 5m to the autoroute going to Nice or points west. Only weakness is the wifi/internet which was terrible. This is not really the house’s fault as there is no high speed lines into this neighborhood. According to Tod, this is due to change in the Fall when fiber optic is supposed to be installed.

Not Good

We are two families of four who often holiday together. upon arrivel on the Saturday our first thoughts of the villa were its bit tied but so what. We allocated bedrooms with 2 children making their way to a downstairs bedroom and the adults and 2 other children upstairs on the 1st floor. As we were unpacking the children that had selected the basement came up concerned about a damp smell. We investigated and also noticed the smell and the plug in air fresheners around the basement. The children said they didn't want to sleep in that room but were happy to sleep on the lounge sofa Great. On the first night at 4.30am the fuse box tripped which we reset the following morning. We told Ton the owner about the incident but it was back working so no problem. However the same thing happened for the following 3 nights. On Tuesday night at around 1am Max our friends little boy who was sleeping on the sofa came upstairs saying he'd seen a ghost moving near the bin. We thought it was a nightmare and nothing more. On the Wednesday evening we had dinner outside but it started to rain Ton arrived and asked us to cover the garden furniture which we did and then retired into the villa. This was the first night we sat in. At about 9.30pm my wife saw a mouse run from behind the fridge and under the sofa we rattled the sofa all watched run under the kitchen units. At this point Melanie told us she had known about the mice from Monday as a bag of pasta had been chewed. There were 8 people now having to sleep in 3 double beds it was decided to inform Ton and first thing the following morning and spend the rest of our holidays in a hotel. Due to not been informed about the problems at the villa we are looking for a full refund and the additional hotel costs that we've incurred.

Relaxing

Initially bit worried about road leading up to villa but once inside was beautiful. Some parts need a bit tired and in need of updating but on the whole would recommend this villa. Hosts Ton and Pascale lovely. Only 1 toilet upstairs for 3 bedrooms so maybe installing one in the master bedroom plus the other two bedrooms needed mirrors. Loved the indoor outdoor kitchens and plenty of tables & chairs.
Response from VrboOwner on 21 Mar, 2020
Thank you very much for your appreciation, Since last summer we have improved the road , 3m50 wide. Yes there is only 1 toilet on the first floor but there are two others in the house and one more in the pool house, so 4 toilets. Yes we fixed mirrors in the rooms, Thank you for being at our house and we would be pleased to welcome you again, Ton
