We offer a unique Sanctuary Villa located on the island of Duck Key. This 4 bedroom 3 bath villa sleeps 10 people comfortably.

Features: 1780 square feet of villa, private pool and 35 ft boat slip.

Master with a king size bed and newly renovated (fall 2022) ensuite bathroom.

2nd bedroom upstairs has 2 full size beds, shared a hall bathroom that was updated Fall 2022 and private front lanai

3rd bedroom upstairs has a queen size bed shares the updated hall bathroom.

Downstairs bedroom w/ queen bed and full bath on first floor, great for people unable to climb stairs.

Private pool and tropical backyard for hours of enjoyment

All of the beds have pillow top firm mattresses.

Flat screen televisions in every bedroom

Kitchen features everything you need for cooking, fixing a drink or having a cup of coffee.

Park 2 cars in our private car port, additional free parking available onsite.

Rent a boat. There are many outlets that offer fishing, snorkeling and dive tours.

Rent a kayak and explore the canals of Duck key, rent a bike or electric scooter and explore the tropic island of Duck Key!

We are located within the confines of a popular resort in Duck key, FL. When you rent privately you have use of the spa, tennis courts, restaurants, and gift shop in the hotel lobby. You do NOT have use of the pools, lagoon or kids club, but this villa comes with its own pool!

Beautiful property to enjoy a family Christmas. We had 9 people staying and everyone was comfortable with open layout and cozy furniture. Property was easy to find and the check in / out process was easy. The host was responsive to any questions. We’ve done a lot of VRBOs in a variety of locations, and this was by far the best stocked and most welcoming properties.

Poor communication from Host

Thru VrboI texted 48 hours before check-in to ask the process of accessing unit. Heard nothing. Text again 24 hours before check-in and heard nothing. Called the phone number listed for host and left message. Finally less that 24 hours before check-in I called Vrbo to ask what to do. They contacted and left message to host. While on phone with Vrbo my sister tried calling host again and she answered. She asked what unit and when we told her she said they handle several. She rattled off the code and said she would be sending instructions later. No apologies for not responding in earlier messages. Also concerned that they must just keep the same code for entry. How many people eventually know this? Day of rental, we arrived around 2:30 (check-in 4). We ate at the restaurant at resort. We drove and saw the cleaning person still there. We drove around more. At 3:59 the cleaning person still there. At 4pm I went to door and cleaning person was finishing up. Not very happy. My sister text (by phone) some issues. Never acknowledged by host. Minor issues like one lamp missing knob in a bedroom so light would not work; broken loung chair, floor dirty in one bedroom. Also we saw menu host has for restuarant so decide to do for dinner. Menu is outdated! Nothing like what restaurant has now.

Start of a New Tradition

Instead of presents at Christmas we as a family decided to start a new tradition and put the money we would have spent on presents into making memories. So, we decided on a trip to the Florida Keys. Host canceled our reservation morning of check in. I had this property reserved for 3 months. We were at airport flying into FL and had no where to stay with a family of 7. Very unprofessional and the host didn’t care if she ruined our vacation .

Nice villa and pool but not convenient for an avid boater

Nice villa, pool and location. However for the avid boater this is not convenient. The boat dock is at least a 5 minute walk down the road. Not close for carrying fishing poles, ice, food back and forth to boat. Also since this is a privately owned villa, Hawks Cay Marina charged us thirty-five dollars to launch our boat and another thirty-five to pull it out of water at the ramp. They also did not allow us to Park our boat trailer in the Overflow parking as it states on the ad for this villa. We had to pay a daily fee to park our trailer a few miles away at Grassy Key Marina.

Nightmare trip

The VRBO host sent me a text message 2 hours before check-in and cancelled our stay. First she said the property wasn’t ready due to a bathroom remodel, then she said it was due to mold and finally claimed the property was damaged from a previous renter. We had 8 guests flying in from all over the country. To cancel literally 2 hours before check-in is very unprofessional. Host then tried to get us to Venmo money to her mother in law to stay in Marathon at a friend’s house. We were left with nowhere to stay on a Holiday weekend in the Florida Keys. Nightmare

It was a horrible experience. The place is overrated, floors dirty, roaches and rats.

The A/c broke down due to filthy filters and took 12 hours to fix, for a luxury home, totally unacceptable. The kitchen sink broke and was left clogged and the person in charge was obliously uncaring about the situation. The pictures showed a barbecue and when we go there there was none. After requesting it we got it a day later in a box, my husband had to go to Home Depot to buy tools to build it for 3 hours, not what you expect in luxury vacation home. The home is located at a resort where you can not get in, because the owners are not part of it, therefore you can not enjoy the amenities and the pool in the house is so little with 4 people in it you can not barely do much in it. I do not recommend this home, overly rated, overly expensive and not what you expect in a luxury home and when there are problems you can not count with an experienced property manager that is attentive to resolve your problem.
