Authentic Log Cabin in the cool pines less than 2 hours from Phoenix.
11.5 acres of peace and quiet at 7,095 feet (where the house is) in the cool pines. This 2600 square foot REAL log cabin has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Bedrooms 2 and 3 are upstairs and have their own private balconies. Bedroom 2 has a king bed and bedroom 3 is a gym with 2 king size blow up mattress available and shares a Jack and Jill with bedroom 2. The master is also a king bed. There is a Big screen T.V. with surround sound and you will enjoy Direct T.V. and a dvd player. The pad the cabin sits on is fenced to keep unwanted animals out and allowed pets in. We have Wi Fi. The entire cabin has a complete wrap around deck that is absolutely HUGE. You can be in sun or shade any time of the day. Although the site will feel remote (you need binoculars to see any neighbors) visitors are only 10 miles to Costco at "the bottom of the hill". Only the last 2.5 miles to the cabin is dirt but 4 wheel drive is not required in summer. Please do not get nervous about the "sketchy" looking homes you will pass on the way up to Misty Mountain Loop. Everyone who visits immediately feels that sense of RELAXATION. Payments made through VRBO.

This was our fourth year enjoying this beautiful cabin over Fall Break with our kids. The cabin is situated perfectly to bring our CanAm for trail rides each morning. Then afternoons are all about the corn hole games followed by an awesome bonfire making s'mores. The memories we have made over the years staying at this amazing property has been... PRICELESS ❤️
This cabin was the Christmas Vacation of our dreams. Andy was so accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed to arrive safely. Off the beaten path, the cabin has tons of privacy and AMAZING finishes including the most beautiful fridge we have ever seen. Enjoying the holiday in luxury, we brought our 3 month old who enjoyed the warm fire, and cozy bedrooms. Safe. Secure. Silent. Our pups enjoyed the fenced in backyard and large wrap around deck. In the rush of packing I forgot items and the hosts made sure to get them back to me. It is unreal that they went out of their way to get me back my items. We will be returning one day and we are so thankful for their amazing customer service. Do not hesitate to book this getaway!
We LOVED staying here and will definitely be back. Husband and I both worked remote from cabin while son was nearby at soccer camp. Road needs 4wd and I imagine it would be difficult (or as my husband puts it: "Amazingly fun") when covered in snow. The kitchen is to die for. High end appliances and great for cooking any meal. The grounds are beautiful and spacious and it feels like you are out in the wilderness alone. Highlight of stay: Hiking around the property, seeing a mama bear and 2 cubs just south of the cabin about a mile, enjoying cool evenings by the fireplace and meeting some noisy woodpeckers in the early morning! Owner was very responsive and made our stay very easy. 13/10.
Absolutely stunning cabin. Everything about the cabin was beautiful. The log walls inside and beams through out was just breath taking. The cabin was fully stocked, the appliances were top notch. The granite was exactly my taste. The double sided fireplace warms you from both sides. All areas of the cabin were very spacious . A great place to relax and unwind. The cabin is secluded, peaceful and no neighbors around. The dogs loved the fenced in property to run around in the snow. The perimeter has lighting which makes it easy to see at night. The weather was perfect, light snow when we arrived, melted and then snow again, Took daily hikes which was amazing. We had a wonderful 10 days. Thank you so much, Diane and Lou
This is the second time choosing this property and it has been awesome. The host is very cordial and responds quickly to any issues. Would highly recommend it
If you want to escape the hustle, bustle of everyday life, this is the place to do so. It is not only quiet, but due to the elevation at around 7,000 feet, you really feel connected to the tall pines and mountains surrounding the cabin. Wildlife is in abundance and it is a rare opportunity to feel so connected to nature while having all the conveniences of a modern home. The kitchen is fantastically equipped with top rated appliances and there is plenty of space for meal prep and all of your supplies. The other rooms are tastefully appointed in the spirit of a woodsy cabin, yet everything is modern and comfortable. Highly recommend this for a true getaway from it all!
The cabin was wonderful. It was stocked with firewood which was a surprise and made the whole trip for us. We will definitely be back and refer our friends.
Had a great vacation. The cabin was stocked to the hilt and had a great feel of comfort to it.
Loved the wrap around deck. The views from all sides of the cabin and deck. Laying in bed watching the deer pass by the large bedroom window. Took walks every morning and night with our puppy Ethan. He loved the freedom. Weather was to order for a couple from the desert. Thunder and lighting storms, hail, incredible rain and cool morning and evenings. My wife cooked up a storm on the new remodeled kitchen, with the most incredible granite in place. Total quiet except for the birds every morning. Far removed from all the sound and rush of towns and cities. Loved the whole experience.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Beautiful property & cozy Cabin that is well equipped. Lots of wildlife to watch out of the large windows and the kids had a blast sledding down the hillside.
The property is beautiful and fully gated. Wildlife wanders by in a peaceful and serene setting. The owners are awesome and we greatly appreciate them letting us stay again as we rent this cabin every year. Perfect get away and close to town.
This cabin was a perfect getaway in the cool pines with lots of outdoor space to enjoy the wildlife. It's spacious and private with quality amenities. The owner specifies exactly what is necessary to enjoy the experience to the fullest. We also appreciated the opportunity to bring our dogs and know they were secure on the fenced grounds.
Andy was responsive, caring and informative. The feeling was being a guest in his private home! as opposed to being a renter of his property. Wildlife was abundant and close to the cabin.
The property was beautiful inside and out !
Kitchen had every possible tool ,pan, dish imaginable. The deer were everywhere, the breezes were so peaceful. You would love to getaway to this property!!
It was a great getaway. The weather was perfect, house has plenty of amenities for cooking and keeping teenagers entertained. Love the fenced in yard that kept my curious pups from running off and herding the beautiful group of deer that roamed around the property several times a day. Beautiful home and surrounding property, very well maintained.
We were lucky enough to meet the property owner upon arrival and we found him to be very welcoming and accommodating. The photos of the property in the listing do not do it justice. It is beautiful and spacious. My family enjoyed ourselves in this cozy home and also local activities. We were very appreciative of the dog friendly environment. As stated in the listing the last leg of the trip to the property is a little bumpy. We are used to going off the beaten path so it wasn't much of an issue although we agreed we would plan all of our activities around one outing per day for that reason. That was fine for us as the afternoons on the deck relaxing were fantastic and the kitchen amenities made it possible for us to create wonderful dinners at the cabin. We feel like we have great memories to look back on and are glad we chose to stay here.
We stayed for a long weekend with friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Even though the forest access was shut down due to fire danger, we were able to buzz around on quads and OHVs on the county roads. The house is just secluded enough that you don't feel like you have any neighbors. The weather was amazing and we stayed outside as much as possible! The kitchen is stocked with most items you need to cook. Check ahead with the hosts if you need something specific. They are very responsive. If you are headed up in the heat of the summer, you might take some fans with you to help keep the upstairs bedrooms cool. There is no AC but if you manage the windows/blinds and have some additional fans, you will stay perfectly comfortable. We will stay here again if we have the opportunity.
Spent 9 fun days here visiting family in Prescott. The cabin is beautifully built, and great for entertaining. Stocked with everything you need and great appliances. Microwave, stove work very well and the washer and dryer are enormous and efficient. Andy was very responsive and provided accurate info. Huge deck to enjoy the cool mountain breeze, even during the heat of the day. You are at 7000 feet, so it's much, much cooler than the valley. And it's quiet! Lots of unusual birds, as well as deer, chipmunks, and beautiful night skies. It's a dirt road the last part of the way up to the cabin, but we had a 4-wheel drive vehicle and found it no problem at all.
It was absolutely breathtaking. Every morning and evening the deer would walk down the mountain to feed. We'd sit on the deck and marvel at God's wonder. The cabin inside was one of the nicest cabins we have ever seen. The craftsmanship was mind blowing. We definitely will be booking this beautiful place again.
We went with our little one and 2 dogs. There is a very secure fence that goes all the way around. The house was comfortable and clean. Great porch/deck. The weather was perfect. It’s a pretty easy drive from Phoenix, but those last two miles are definitely a climb up in elevation! It was a great place to go to to get away from it all. Andy is a great host!

I grew up and went to school in Scottsdale but was born in Illinois. My wife was born in El Paso but grew up in Prescott. Originally Anne's Dad owned the whole 660 acre section. Her Mom and Step Father purchased some acreage from him and built the real Pioneer log cabin.
Why they chose this property
We were fortunate enough to purchase the cabin from Anne's mother Mary and her husband Chuck. We put a lot of work and money into it and turned it into the beautiful place it is today. The entire home was extensively remodeled in September of 2022.
What makes this property unique
We got the idea to rent when our friends would just flip out over the mountain experience. It is truly a place of serenity. We are confident you will enjoy and fall in love with this beautiful place.
