Great multi-generational family home
The house was perfect for our family of grandparents, parents, teens, a 3 year old, and a 1 year old. The layout allows for privacy (2 wings, 3+ separate decks) and togetherness (open kitchen, large living room, large game room, large decks). The wrap-around lawn and lower deck provided ample safe space for our little ones to play outside. We enjoyed walking into the National Forest at the end of the cul-de-sac. It's a very short drive to the zoo and the golf course. The cooking utensils/appliances are very basic, but adequate. There were a few issues with the TV, thermostat and one smoke alarm, but the owners and the manager were exceptionally responsive. Our family is already planning future visits!
This house was large and perfect, lots of entertainment options for the family, beautiful hiking trailhead right across the street, we will definitely plan to return here.
Our stay here was very enjoyable, it was located close to the mountain and hiking and biking trails. Even though it rained during our whole trip there were plenty of games and things to do at the house. Would definitely stay again.
We had a great time. The house was perfect and quite large. Would definitely stay there again. The only drawbacks were the condition of the Jacuzzi (I think it got overlooked in the last cleaning) and it needs instructions for the TV in master bedroom.
Wonderful floorplan for large family! Game room kept kids entertained. Walking distance to amazing sledding, close to skiing/snowboarding. Snow toys and firewood provided.
Would rent this beautiful home again
A beautiful home in a perfect location. We had 6 adults and 8 children between the ages of 3 to 17, you would have thought we had half that number. The spaciousness of the home with bedrooms separated, the game room upstairs, which was above the garage, allowed for everyone to enjoy their stay. We are already talking about our next trip.
For those concerned about communication, the quick responses from Brad, one of the owners should put you at ease.

Far exceeded my expectations
I have heard that this cabin was amazing from a friend, but I was unaware of everything this cabin had to offer. I came with a group of 15 teenagers and this was paradise for them. They had an amazing time using all the game tables (the pool table was a really big hit)! Along with all the fun amenities provided, there were more than enough spaces for a group this size to sleep comfortably. All in all, our stay was wonderful and the cabin was amazing.

Best accommodations by far. Spacious and enjoyable to the fullest
Being right next to the top of the mountain from only steps away to amazing hiking trails this place has it all from supplies to use to a full size game room. I personally can say there's nothing like being in the jacuzzi while it's snowing. Everything being easy to use and right there at your fingertips I'm happy to say I can make this my go to spot for when I return to big bear

Perfect location for our family
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary and Christmas with our 3 kids and grandkids in this perfect Big Bear house. It was spacious, comfortable and well laid out; the recreation room upstairs gave the grandkids a place to handout away from the adults. We loved the location and will come back.

Paradise in the mountains
Nothing is perfect, but Paradise Pines comes pretty close (as far as vacations and experiences are concerned). We walked in to an absolutely clean home. The kitchen was complete with everything you can think of, the bedrooms were immaculate, the playroom upstairs was in good order. Having 4 bathrooms was incredibly convenient and the layout of the house was very ideal. The location is incredible, close to the edge of the forest, very quiet and a perfect place to retreat from the hustle and bustle of the big city (or even the small city).
However, I did not encounter the peanut loving creatures that were advertised (and yes, the hosts were very generous to leave peanuts for them). This must have been due to a surprise snow shower that came our way on Saturday morning. And there it was, the snowfall, the fresh air, the quiet ambience, Paradise Pines is the perfect place to relax, rejuvenate and recreate . I am quite sure that we will be back, to add more beautiful memories to the ones we made on this vacation.

FOR FAMILY OR FRIENDS...THIS PLACE DELIVERS
The beautiful exterior elicited praise from passersby...we noticed that on 2 occasions as we were having breakfast in the cabin, watching and listening to the goings-on outside. But that's not even half...heck, not even 1/10th the story. The interior, though large enough to provide tons of options for sleeping arrangements, feels cozy and warm...and everything is super clean. From the sheets on the bed to the dishes and accessories, this place is super clean. Showers are great, with good flow. They get hot and stay hot. Beds are comfortable. Bunks for the kids (2 sets in one room and another set in another room) and traditional beds through I think 4 other rooms. Kitchen is stocked and the layout spills into the great room which makes for great entertaining/family time. Then there's the game room. Pool, foosball, air hockey and a bar make this the kind of place you NEVER want to leave. But don't forget why you came...to be outdoors. And there is a trailhead right across the street. Although we stayed in the spring, the proximity to the slopes would even allow you to ski directly home after a long day. Above all, there is just a vibe about this place that makes it feel good. It probably comes from the owners who are super generous and whose kindness must have seeped into the cabin itself.

Perfect Family Get-A-Way
We have rented this cabin 4 times now and will keep coming back. The layout is perfect for families with children and teens. The upstairs game room offers the kids their own space to hang out, play pool, foosball, and air hockey, leaving the downstairs for adult time. The kitchen is well stocked with all your cooking needs. We love the location being just across the street from the national forest to take hikes and play in the snow...Upper Moonridge is quiet and peaceful. The cabin is a short drive to the ski slopes. Ron and Brad are very friendly and it has been a pleasure renting from them each year.

LOVE...THIS PLACE
This hugh gorgeous cabin is the perfect family vacation rental. When you are traveling with five children ages from 1-12 you need to all have space ! The children love having the game room upstairs with a pool table, foosball, air hockey and big comfy couches and TV. The bedrooms are very nice and the kids have bunk beds in two different rooms. The hot tub is perfect after a day in the snow. and the kitchen and family room are very warm and inviting. After our first visit in 2015, our kids insisted we ONLY come back if we could stay at Paradise Pines!!! Need I say more..... We have made this our Big Bear family tradition. Brad is great to work with and made sure all our questions were answered before arrival .

Perfect for group bonding/team building
I'm an avid user of homeaway and have not yet been dissatisfied!
I searched high and low for the perfect home in Big Bear to house a girl scout brownie troop of 6 girls, aged 7-8 and 7 mothers. This home was the perfect size to accommodate every single one of us. The house is separated in two halves: one with most of the bedrooms and living space, with the other half being additional bedrooms and playing space, so it's like having two homes under one roof! There was so much space that we were never cramped.
The home was clean, instructions were clear and owner/manager was responsive and diligent. The girls had plenty to do to keep them busy with all of the game tables, puzzles and hot tub! Sitting out on the deck in the peace and quiet was nice! In addition, the home is right across the street from a hiking trail, which was a super plus being that we were there to entertain a girl scout troop. Though some of the game tables were slightly dilapidated and it took forever to try to figure out how to operate the TV upstairs, we were still very pleased with all of the other amenities.
I would return here without question. Many fun memories made here!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Best stay we've EVER had in Big Bear
My sister found and booked this wonderful cabin to accommodate our large family. Altogether there were 12 of us including 6 children. What an amazing place to stay with kids and still feel like you've gotten away!! There was so much space to either sit as a family and enjoy a movie or to have the kids play pool, foosball, karaoke.... The cabin is clean, spacious, comfortable and in a perfect geographic location. I can't say enough about how great Paradise Pines is. The kids all cried when we had to leave, so needless to say we'll be making a trip back.

Memories in the snow for kids and friends
My family and I hosted kids and other families for fun in the snow last year in Arrowhead and while we had a great time we had to drive an hour to Big Bear to find snow. This year under what I can only label God's Providence, I stumbled upon Paradise Pines Lodge. I checked a week before our arrival date of 3/4 and found out that this weekend is normally reserved for one of the owners' personal weeks, which he the night before opened due to scheduling conflicts. I can see why he reserves this weekend for his own family as it was a weekend to remember. Sledding in the front yard, snowball fights, snowball launching guns, snowman building and awesome sledding just a a 5 minute walk up the street in the forest for 5 separate sledding trips. I think my youngest son said it best after our 6th tandem sled down the hill this afternoon... "dad we have to get this place again next year at the same time." Thanks Ron for allowing us to call your place home this weekend.

A Great Spot
We were very pleased with Paradise Pines. We've stayed at other place, but this one we'll come back to. It was spacious and had everything we needed. Our five boys (two families) had a blast in the game room and the hot tub. They even sledded right in front of the house. All the bedrooms had plenty of space. We only had two families but easily could have had three here. The owner Ron was very friendly and accommodating, and even checked in on our first night there. Thanks for everything!

Our Favorite Winter Getaway
This was our 5th stay at Paradise Pines with our group of 3 families. We love this place so much we can't help but think of it as ours, at least for the days we are there. We have made such great memories here and the kids talk about it all year long. We love to hibernate in the winter in our jammies and play games and watch movies between our adventures outside in the snow. We have gone from snow play in the yard and a trip to the tube park to trekking out in to the forest for extreme sledding and a day snowboarding at Snow Summit as our little ones have grown. This cozy cabin nestled next to the forest is the perfect place year round and the owners are great as well, very accommodating, they always have the guests in mind. Thank you again for sharing your mountain home with us!

About the host
Hosted by Ron Kassan
Brad & Ron are college buddies from San Diego State who bought this cabin to enjoy with each of their families. It is their pleasure to rent it to other families with similar interests and it helps with the affordability.
Why they chose this property
Before purchasing the cabin, we looked at 25 others. None offered the serenity, mountain vacation feeling and immediate proximity to Bear Mtn, Golf, Zoo, & Nat'l Forest where we love to Mountain Bike Ride, Sled, Hike and play.
What makes this property unique
You're dealing with honest, family oriented, responsible people who take a GREAT deal of Pride of Ownership in their Cabin. You will always find the cabin in incredible condition, as we visit the cabin regularly along with our Property Manager and Maintenance Personnel.
