What a fabulous little cabin at the top of the hill with a marvelous view. This was exactly what we wanted. Felt remote but safe…rustic but modern amenities…just loved it!We cooked, played music, danced, and napped. We also kayaked and hiked all around the lake and visited Julian. It was a perfect little getaway from the city.Dana was responsive and communicative. They have a great place there. We will definitely be back!

We greatly enjoyed our stay! The views from the cabin were stunning and the cabin itself was so cozy and comfortable for our night there. Waking up to the sunrise in the morning was incredible and the views of the sunset, stars, and Milky Way at night were fantastic. It was quiet and peaceful and the cabin itself was beautiful and comfortable, with everything we needed.The drive up to the cabin is as described on the listing and we had no issues following the host instructions. I'd echo what some other reviews say and plan to arrive before dark for ease of navigating the road to the property. It is a bit of a steep/windy drive up. Dana was timely in sending any information for check-in/check-out and responsive to any messages/needs!I'm just sad we only stayed one night! Looking forward to returning for a longer stay.

Perfect little cabin! Very remote and private…celebrated my birthday here w husband and dog…the views are gorgeous, it’s a retreat for the soul! If you want to truly get away from people I highly recommend- you won’t want to leave :-)

If you are looking to immerse yourself in the saner reality of a GORGEOUS sublimely private and peaceful Natural setting where the sun breaks practically at the foot of the cabin bed over a definitely epic panoramic expanse of mountains and the Anza Borrega desert floor below, then look no further. This entrancing cabin is artfully appointed with tasteful rustic charm - very cozy and though small still provides abundantly enough for your needs. It was immaculate upon arrival, and the host Dana is an exceptional cut above - kind, always responsive, thoughtful and personable. The drive up and down the mountain between the cabin and Lake Cayumaca (approximately 10 minutes) is a treat in and of itself. And of course the town of Julian is like a suspension in time with its rich goldrush history! You can’t go wrong choosing this cabin - I already booked myself a longer stay for next summer! And the famous PIES the town is known for - don’t even get me started. Highly recommend Mom’s Pies in Wynola - just a few minutes down the mountain from Julian- less crowded with plenty of idyllic outdoor space!

We had the best time here! Such a peaceful and cozy cabin. We loved waking up to watch the sunrise over the mountains. We are very happy we drove up for the first time in the daylight, but quickly got used to driving up the mountain. We would absolutely stay here again!

This is an amazing little jewel of a place. The last mile in getting there is very interesting and perfectly sets the stage for the sense of remoteness this place offers. Our only regret had nothing to do with the unit, but being at the top of the mountain, being inside clouds sometimes prevents you from seeing the stunning views. Highly recommend.

Remote location a top North Peak a 6000ft. The view is just amazing with a deck to take it all in. Coffee and Knitting each morning. Amazing being up above the clouds. It was exactly the retreat that my wife and I wanted. The place can be a little tricky to find after dark so checking in during daylight is key. Once you’ve found it the first time, it’s easy after that. It has all the things you need. Definitely looking forward to staying here again. Does get windy and chilly at night so be prepared for that. This Monday writing this, I feel so refreshed for the week ahead.

Beautiful mountain getaway!

The drive up the mountain is already beautiful, but getting to the top and the view overlooking the mountains is something that needs to be experienced. My husband and I loved the cabin, the home-like feel, and the ability to watch the sunset and sunrise from pretty much anywhere in the cabin!

Great little scenic cabin

The view is awesome and it is still pretty close to things in Julian. You may not want to make the drive up to the cabin at night since with the beautiful remote views comes some rough roads, but totally doable. Enjoyed my stay!
