Everything was great but wished the playroom was more accessible and trash bins alike the rest of the rental cabins around.

Had a good stay. Seems weird we had to drive to another place to dump the trash.

Check in and location was great! Everything was close by. Very convenient!
Tv in bedroom didn’t work, none of the light switches in two bedrooms didn’t work….had to turn on manually. Bathrooms and bedrooms were fine. Comfortable! Game room was excellent!

cozy, great location family cabin
This cabin was in a great location close to grocery store, starbucks, town, and mountain for snowboarding. The large front and backyard gives the kids plenty of space to run and play along with the game room in the garage. It not super fancy or immaculately clean, but offered a pleasant stay. The couches were comfortable, good cable and internet.. We had what we needed to make meals and memories! . We stayed 4 nights and would stay again.
The cabin was really cozy, clean, and had everything we needed to cook meals, warm up, and relax. Kids loved the game room in the garage. Check in process was a breeze.
The only qualm we had was a strong smell of tobacco smoke when we arrived. But after we aired the cabin out, it seemed to be ok.
Thank you for a great stay!

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay at the cabin. We're glad to hear that you found the cabin cozy, clean, and well-equipped, and that your kids enjoyed the game room in the garage. We apologize for the strong smell of tobacco smoke when you arrived and are glad that airing out the cabin seemed to help. We'll certainly look into this to ensure it doesn't happen again in the future. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future.
Overall, good stay. Floors were hardwood throughout but sadly showing a lot of wear. Tons of scuff marks in the soft wood making it look very dated. The rugs were The kitchen was missing some basics including a regular sized cutting board. I cooked a prime rib roast for our family of 6 and the only cutting board I could find was too small to accommodate the roast.
The cabin was a great size for us. The backyard and the front yard are both spacious and there was plenty of snow for the kids to play with and no need to leave the property. The only thing we weren’t aware of was that the garage was not accessible from the inside you have to access it from a side door off of the front porch.

I always write reviews as I rely on them myself when searching for places to stay or restaurants to eat at. And although I usually have good experiences I thought it would be important for the next person and the host to know about some disappointments we had during our stay at Cedar Pines. For the amount of money we paid for 5 nights we expected a little more even though we know during the holiday the prices rise. The cabin was not cleaned properly as all the rugs were very dirty with crumbs, popcorn kernels and other food particles. I found a vacuum in the closet and tried to vacuum my self since we were gonna be staying there for several days but the vacuum suction was not working. So basically we had to sweep up the best that we could and that’s not what I wanted to do upon checking in for my vacation. There were several broken items that I had to report the first day. Upon arrival we also found the trash can extremely dirty and broken and a bunch of ashes left in the fireplace. In the evening we realized we were only left 6 towels for 7 people staying there for 5 days with no washer/dryer access. I again had to call and we were delivered more towels for the week. I feel the necessary supplies listed were few (ex. 1 roll of paper towels, 2 rolls of toilet paper , no coffee filters) all in which we had to go and buy. One very important thing I think should be listed on their site is that the master bedroom with bathroom has no door for the bathroom (open concept).
When we arrived it looked like it was not ready for guests. Many weeds and cobwebs. Floors not clean. Dishes sticky needing to be washed. Coffee maker drastically needing cleaning. No firepit as stated and a broken rundown patio swing unusable. Sadly we made the place work. The management sent up a guy to knock down the weeds. Then when we left and discussed our disappointment they were apologetic and refunded our cleaning fee and credited us back the equivalent of 1 nights stay. I was ok with that and that’s why I did not give it only one star. It is a cute cabin and is decorated nicely. Could use more ceiling fans and yes air conditioning. All’s well that ends well.
Our stay at this 3-bedroom, 2-bath home was fantastic! We spent most of our time in the family room and kitchen. The remodeled kitchen was a highlight, equipped with almost everything needed to cook. The dining table seated six comfortably, perfect for both adults and kids. The family room was cozy, with a decent-sized TV above the fireplace. The leather couches were comfortable, and the love seat’s built-in cup holders were a nice touch. The large sofa’s recliner worked, but the love seat’s didn’t. The room could use better lighting, as the overhead light was too harsh. We didn’t use the fireplace since we had no firewood—wish we’d planned for that! We also found the games in the cabinet under the home phone a little late. The game room, in a converted garage, was a great space but required going outside to access. It would’ve been more usable with warmer weather and instructions for the furnace and TV.Due to the cold, we didn’t use the spacious backyard. The bedrooms were roomy and worked well for six people. Extra blankets were in the closets, which was helpful. However, the rooms were a bit dark, and the light switches weren’t connected to the lamps, making it tricky to turn them on at night.Overall, this was the best house we’ve rented for the price, and we’d definitely stay again!

Fun!
Everything was amazing! However, the master bedroom bed cover was dirty. There was a candy like substance melted into the blanket. We didn’t notice until we were in bed. Other than that it was good.
the property had a lot of positives. Location, Quiet, Garage ply room. Kitchen needs to be better organized. Needs wine glasses. Over all we had a very pleasant time. We are retired math teachers that have camped together for 35 years and now just get together at Big Bear. It was a very nice location and we will probably try to stay again next year.

Hello William, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Thank you for your feedback we are always looking for ways to improve. Come back soon, Destination Big Bear
I would definitely rent this cabin again. It was very cute and had everything we could possibly need. Check in/check out times were a little restrictive and different from VRBO. They did let us in a little early ultimately so that was good. There is poor cell reception but Wi-Fi works well when you have the code. We had to call to get the code, it was not in the book. We had to leave the area to get cell reception to call for the Wi-Fi code. The email communication with Destiination big bear was pretty quick. I did email to say I did not get the check in text to my cell phone and they said it was sent that morning and provided no more information. Luckily it was sent to my husband’s phone which was a number I didn’t think they had. So not a big problem just a strange answer if you really didn’t get the check in information and they claim it was sent. Overall though good service and great cabin. Just offering the details so they can be even better.
