The two-story, three-bedroom cottage sits on a 10-acre ( 4 hectares) block bordering the Kahurangi Park on the back boundary - no close neighbours. The house itself has two bedrooms upstairs and a third downstairs with open plan kitchen, dining and living. Bathroom with over-bath shower and separate laundry and toilet. Plenty of room for off-street parking and tons of space to pitch a tent or park a caravan/camper or two. No street lights - the night sky is amazing. The birdlife is outstanding - including the NZ falcon, kereru, tui, shining cuckoo, bellbird, morepork, kingfisher, weka and quail. Attractions abound with bush walks and mountain bike tracks originating from the property into the Kahurangi National Park; The fabulous river swimming hole is a sweet seven-minute walk up the road and there's a short three-minute drive down the road to the sweeping Parapara Beach for swimming and fishing. Take a seven-minute drive to the very famous Mussel Inn for music and beer and great food. A store, petrol, and cafes are just eight minutes north in the picturesque village of Collingwood. And then, of course, there is the whole of Golden Bay to explore from the beautiful Abel Tasman Track to Farewell Spit, Wharariki Beach and the Heaphy Track.

We stayed here and had a great time, The house is clean and tidy. It is situated in the bush away from the hustle and bustle of life. It is great to just relax and let the stress go.
It is a nice place, the beds are good and we had a great time.

Holiday in Golden Bay
We had two families staying. The description said 1.5 bath, but upon arrival realized there was only one toilet and one shower which was disappointing. With a closer look we saw the description actually did say the 1.5 bath was for an extra tub and wash room, but that didn’t really help. It was someone’s home they rented for the holiday and not well equipped as a rental to be honest, no plunger, not cleaned. For the price it definitely could have been better. On the bright side, the host was very friendly, the location was nice and private and had a cool rope swing for the kids. Don’t think I would go again for that price, especially with two families, but we enjoyed our time.
