There is also has a dedicated workcation space and the entire house has good high-speed Wi-Fi.
Set on a quarter acre property with lush Florida native landscaping the sound of ocean waves can be heard from the front porch.
Melbourne Beach is a gem - untouched by overdevelopment - Hibiscus House is within walking distance of its local beaches, shops, restaurants, and other amenities. The location allows easy access to all that the Space Coast has to offer kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, surfing, bird watching or just plain relaxing! The fact that it is a barrier island gives amazing opportunities to view Florida’s famous sunrises and sunsets. It a great place for bike riding as it is an old-fashioned quiet neighborhood, Melbourne Beach Pier is a short cycle ride away - an excellent spot for fishing and sunsets. We are 15min drive to Melbourne International airport, 30 minutes to Vero Beach with Sebastian Inlet on the way, 45 minutes to Cape Canaveral and an hour and a half to Orlando airport, and all its many attractions.
The Space:
Beach essentials are provided, chairs, towels, cooler and a small wagon to wheel it all. Two adult bicycles for guests are available.

We have a passion for textiles and invest in good quality. The queen beds are 100% linen bedding, and the studio singles have 100% cotton. There are soft throws and plenty of pillows for curling up in. Sisal and woven rugs feature through the property.
The house retains many original features including wood parquet flooring throughout the main living space and two bedrooms, bathrooms with original 1950’s tiles and the tropical jalouse windows. Yet on top of the vintage, we have new ceiling fans and air conditioning keep you cool!
The front porch has a casual seating area outside overlooking the lush tropical landscaping. The entrance walkway is lined by seashells found beachcombing locally and guests are welcome to contribute!

About the host
Hosted by Kristin Perers

We are two sisters and grew up just down the road from Hibiscus House. We love sharing this very special slice of Florida with guests.
Why they chose this property
This neighbourhood has all the charm of small town Florida. We love riding bicycles to sunrise on the ocean and sunset on the Indian River Lagoon. The town is small but has everything you need - a wonderful local food market, pizza parlour, cafe and ocean front dinning. There's plenty to do outdoors golf, fishing, surfing and sitting on the beach with a good book and the ocean breeze.
What makes this property unique
Hibiscus House was designed and built in 1953 by a local architect and airforce pilot - positioned so to catch the offshore breeze. It's beautifully laid out and has a spacious light feel. The separate sleeping wings allow for privacy and a large open plan gathering area brings people together in a casual way. The house retains many original features - it's elegant and charming while also feeling bright spacious and modern.
